It was just bad timing, I guess ^^' She also deals with an anxiety disorder, so we would have had that it common. It takes a lot for a girl to turn my head (mostly personality), so when my head DOES get turned and I don't have a shot, it kind of...well, sucks XD As far as sex goes, to me it's an absolutely demonstration of trust. I certainly don't trust everyone, so I wouldn't want to have sex with just anyone. I don't think I could drop my guard around someone I knew just casually.

It's a good decision to take care of student loans first. If you'd like, I could try to help you out with sentence structure. I did fairly well on that on my test :) As far as that bill went, it was the same. I take classes at a community college mostly, but for this I had to go to a fairly elite school (the community college stopped offering the level of Japanese I needed). 

It would have made sense to just leave Ken Penders in charge. I like Ian Flynn, but Ken Penders did a better job, I think. He told stories about the existing characters, instead of bringing in tons of new characters. Learning about Knuckles' and the other echidna's past was cool.

It was incredibly stupid of me, lol. It really was. In my defense, I was looking to leave my other job, so I was testing the waters for a better offer (it wasn't better). And the money was definitely nice. As far as your situation went- ugh. Nothing is worth your health imho.

It was definitely weird. Cool at the same time, but just kind of freaky. I never got to see the fire itself, unfortunately. That would have been cool.
It was that way at the museum, too, minus the union thing. It was just that people didn't cross train for some reason. I created opening and closing procedure lists, and even a powerpoint training program, and that didn't make the managers happy (except for the library desk training- THAT needed so much updating that they were okay with that).

A little part of me imagined a comic where his, ah, "male parts" stayed the way they were after his transformation XD But you're right, it wouldn't make sense for him to be overly clothed. Thanks! :)

It would definitely fit them. Ekyt is always like that, but Linda-Su is normally more aggressive, so it's a rare out of character moment for her. Kind of like when Julie-Su acts shy once in a blue moon XD

Take your time :) If you don't mind a bit of input, I would make her Shadow's equal, but in a different way than having them have the exact capabilities. I would tweak her abilities. Since they're brother and sister, maybe there's a way to write it so their abilities compliment each other? Like they're two halves of the same whole. That adds a different dimension to the "ultimate life form' thing, I think.

If my major is business, why do I need to take two P.E. classes? Or English Lit? I think it's because colleges are run like businesses- they've got to make money somewhere.

What worries me is that I think I met "the one that got away". I met her, kind of fell for her, but didn't know how to approach her (she worked at my dentist's office, assisting when he filled my cavities). There were a number of reasons why I liked her, but the fact was there was no non-creepy way to approach her. Then I heard she had a boyfriend. Then she got married, and that's that, because unfortunately I'm one of those old-fashioned folks who believes in the sanctity of marriage. She's not in my every waking thought or anything, but it's rare that I trust someone that much. So (shrug)- weird stuff to be feeling. And I mean, seriously- who the heck falls in love while they're getting their teeth drilled?! lol, that's like a manga story!

That's how it started with me. My tutor charges $50/session, but sessions are sometimes an hour and a half long or longer, so that's fine. I was taking her class at a college when they handed me my $2700 bill- for ONE COURSE! I emailed her, apologizing that I had to drop her course. She agreed to tutor me for what I thought was a fair price. I just got lucky enough to find an accommodating instructor.

You know, they've been doing bizarre stuff. That Archie re-design in 2010, the whole "killing off Archie" thing this July. I think the fact that their editor-in-chief is 90 years old is part of the problem. As for why Ken Penders and Archie sued each other- it was creative differences. There's a new writer/producer, Ian Flynn, who is taking things in a different from Ken Penders. A lot of stuff Ken wrote and laid the groundwork for, and he doesn't want his creations to wind up being creatively misused. Archie wanted total control over the characters. It's kind of a lousy situation for both parties, I think.

It was stupid of me the way I did my 3rd shift. I tried to keep my other job, so a couple times I would have been up from 11pm to 7am, then up for my next job at 11:00am. There were so many ways I could have done things better, but I wanted to be Superman. And wouldn't ya know it, no sleep is my kryptonite! So I totally get what you're saying about sleep schedules! Ugh, I can't believe I was that dumb! lol. Ambitious at the time, dumb in retrospect XD

It was a weird chemical fire that kind of "floated" on the water. The fire got high enough to lick the ceiling, but that's it. It didn't spread beyond the tank. But because of the chemicals, it smoked like heck. 
I'm with you- I like to earn my money. On a really slow day, I could wash all the plexiglass on the second floor of the museum probably five times. And there was a LOT of freakin' plexi glass!

I'm torn between wanting him to be 100% echidna and wanted parts of him to be human. The five fingers thing and the smaller feet will probably be all that I'll do with that. I figure he should be taller because, as a human, he would have been closer to fully grown than Knuckles (though I don't know how much growing an echidna does between 16 and 200, so I'm guessing). 
I think maybe I'll have Ekyt clothed only in formal situations. Like, whenever he visits Sally and co. I would think that he'd have a hard time understanding that he can be naked now XD

Absolutely go with whatever you think will work! I was avoiding white because I didn't want it to resemble a wedding, and I was avoiding black because I didn't want it to resemble a funeral. I was avoiding pink because that's her fur color. I can pick out why I DON'T want colors, but not what would work XD I leave it in your capable hands!
Can you picture the two of them sneaking away from the dance floor, winding up "hiding" in the same corner, then only saying something like "sorry" to each other before walking away?

I think this will definitely be a fun, interesting course to go. How's Tiffany's development coming? :) I feel bad that we only ever talk about my OC's.

That could very well be. Or so many people have degrees now, that it's the new equivalent of a high school education? I hear a lot of theories. I'm an "ISTJ" according to the Meyers-Briggs scale, which means that I like short learning with immediate application, so I might just be griping XD

I just feel like I'll know the right time and right girl. Maybe I'm an old romantic (or maybe I'm thinking of Soultouch XD). As long as there's real love involved, I'll be happy. To me, it's not a recreational pasttime.

I really enjoy studying it. I studied it in school as long as I could, and I now have a tutor who works one-on-one with me. I got really lucky in that respect.

Crap, I think I'm going to wind up hating Archie Comics -_-' The man responsible for most of the echidna storylines, Ken Penders, left and he and Archie wound up suing each other. Now Archie has the rights to use his characters, but is generally refusing to do so. So no Locke, Archimedes, Julie-Su, Lara-Su, and a ton of the Guardians are gone. I think they just introduced Knuckles' potential new girlfriend...ugh. I can't blame Ken Penders (I emailed him- he's a pretty cool guy), especially not with the other stupid crap Archie has been pulling lately.

Good choice. I worked overnights once, and I loved it. My body didn't though. I'm not sure if it was the weird hours, or that they were doing construction and I was (accidentally) inhaling some bad stuff (drywall dust, paint, paint thinner, asbestos), but I felt like I had the flu for two weeks. Ugh. But I loved working on my terms and not interacting with a ton of people. The bad part was that I shared an office with the maintenance people, and my paycheck came out of THEIR paycheck, so they really didn't like having me around.

That it was! I actually got lightheaded from guarding this one door. The smoke was really bad behind it, and kids kept wanting to run through it. No one got injured, thankfully. The heck of it was, I was one of the first to notice that there was a fire. I was on the second floor, and the smoke got thick. I had the other guy get everyone we could see out (he was injured and couldn't walk very well, so I figured it would be easier for me to run around the floor to see if everyone was out), and I actually got to call the special radio code for a fire. That was oddly cool. The bizarre thing was that the fire was in a fish tank 0_o
That sounds fun! It's always nice when you get cool coworkers that can enjoy a set of circumstances like that! And, hey, Pizza Hut! That alone makes it all worth it! XD

Thanks! I'm still messing with details, though. I might mess with the length of his torso, too, to maybe make him look vaguely human, and just have him be overall taller than Knuckles (Knuckles, apparently, isn't fully grown, since a lot of the other echidnas who are way older are taller than him). I'm still not sure if he'll wear clothes as an echidna or not. Kind of a weird thing to wonder about, I guess ^^' At some point, I'm going to have to stop messing with his design!

Hmm...that's a hard one. Maybe the more formal, dolled up dress that will make her feel even more uncomfortable and self-conscious? I want a reason for him to sneak glances at her, besides a little bit of SoulTouch. I know she would resist, with every fiber of her being, having anything done to her dreadlocks XD 
It seems like the males wear black tuxedo-like things. I'll probably put Ekyt in a bowtie, since he's always one to observe the formalities.

It also eliminates Ekyt's need to have a weapon all the time. And maybe we could even do a story about how Ekyt is jealous of Knuckles, since Knuckles has all this natural ability and power (maybe even have him wishing he was an echidna himself, before his transformation).

I'm just getting set to go back to school for an Associate's Degree myself. Honestly, I'm just not that into college. I would rather learn important skills and apply them, instead of taking a broad range of courses. But I'm trying to suck it up now XD

I hear you! All my friends are either married or having semi-regular sex, but they're considerate of me. One persistent buddy of mine will offer every few months to introduce me to a friend of his. We occasionally kid about the subject, but they're pretty cool. One guy married a Japanese girl, and I got to totally show him up by speaking to her (I took the Japanese Language Proficiency Test a couple years ago and earned an N5 level. Not fluent, but I could survive in Japan!).

That sounds good, too. Crowds can be really irritating, can't they? Especially since it seems like there are more rude people now than ever before -_-'

 That was one thing about the museum- in all my time there, I STILL didn't see everything! There were back hallways I never navigated. One day we had a fire, and this is literally the day before I'm due to start my second job as a "Fire Watch" security officer! The coolest thing about the staff was the way we all just simply decided to do thing. During the evacuation, one person was handing out blankets, another was stopping traffic so the fire trucks could come in. I was walking around playing with the kids, asking them if they liked fire trucks, etc. We got back inside, and it was really smokey, so we couldn't go in one are of the museum. Somebody actually dashed through the smoke and came back with two huge baskets of toys. Another was going to go get into a costume (I think it was going to be Peter Rabbit or something). I offered to run food orders through a back hallway, or to go break into the vending machines downstairs. We never talked about any of this- everyone just agreed that the kids were there to have a good time, and that was what was going to happen.

I really tried to figure out what would make him special, but not too far from the norm. I wound up liking the result a lot more than I thought! I thought I would have a hard time to with his new design, since he's almost always been human, but this wound up cool! I really like his semi-tribal look. Thanks so much! I can't wait to see what you drew! :D

Thanks! Do you have any ideas for her clothes for the ceremony? That's really not my thing. Ekyt was easy enough, but Linda-Su...at least here, she's got to be wearing a dress of some kind, and that's really not my forte as you might imagine XD

I didn't know this, but apparently Knuckles was exposed to Chaos Energy while he was still in his egg, making him even more supercharged. Cool! I want to make use of the fact that Ekyt is human and knows martial arts, too. I'm planning to have him fight mostly empty handed as an echidna, and have his fists coated with Chaos Energy so he doesn't break his bones when he punches metal robots.

More power to you for finishing school, too! A degree is a piece of paper- finishing school is the REAL sign of intelligence :D

My turn to say it: Thank you! Someone else who gets the concept! One person, for life! I'm absolutely the same way with that. I've got just about 0 desire for any short term or casual relationships.

When I needed a break, I was lucky enough to know all the exits, and all the nooks and crannies of the building. I usually wound up outside once a day (even in winter), to just breathe some fresh air and relax for a few minutes. One bad day in particular, I was really upset, and one of the managers got me and brought me into the office, and we watched this youtube video of a girl doing impressions of all 151 original Pokemon voices. Definitely cool bosses.
Well, my coworkers made it fun. That, and ICHEG- International Center for the History of Electronic Gaming. I literally got to work in an arcade some days. And if you go downstairs, into a locked area of the building, you see ICHEG itself- with literally the biggest collection of video games anywhere in America! We had Nintendo executives in the building, some reps from Sony and Microsoft- that was majorly cool!

Why don't we switch of chapter by chapter, and we'll just talk about parts where we borrow each other's OC's. Like, if we have a scene planned with Tiffany and Ekyt, I'll tell you how Ekyt will react to the situation, and then look forward to seeing what you come up with. Does that work for you?

No, you're right- he was way too much of a cliche. I toyed with a couple things- since Linda-Su was holding him, then maybe he winds up being her color? But then, I really didn't want Ekyt to be pink --' I looked at the past Guardians, and they either had something odd with their dreadlocks, or they had eyebrows and forehead ridges. None of those looked right. Ekyt is still young, and those made him look way too old. I think I've got a good solution now, though!

Okay, I sent it off. It isn't a finish product by any means, but it does outline all the things I want to do with him.  Can't wait to hear what you think!

Soultouch is such a cool concept (I wish real life worked that way- put an end to all the teenage dating drama!). It's even better since not every echidna feels it, so not everyone is going to know about it. In this case, Ekyt is almost like Data from Star Trek- he wants to be a real echidna, and feeling something like this will profoundly confuse him, but ultimately be an awesome thing! Except, of course, he's shy, and he knows he has to act on Soultouch, but doesn't know how to do it. So much potential!
I'm picturing her Unveiling being uncomfortable for both her and Ekyt. Linda-Su doesn't like all the formality and attention, so she'd try to get out of the spotlight (and she's not comfortable in overly feminine clothes). Ekyt doesn't like parties as a general rule, so he'd be kind of watching from a corner or something. Then they kind of glimpse each other, but never get a chance to talk or really make eye contact again.
That's what I was thinking. It would ultimately lead him to realizing he's closer to being a real, better Guardian, and he wasn't a big fan of being human anyway (especially not since meeting Linda-Su). The one thing I definitely didn't want was for him to be as powerful as Knuckles. He'll compensate by thinking things through better and knowing strategy. But in terms of outright power, Knuckles is way ahead.

Relationships before 21 are almost always "practice" relationships, where you make mistakes and it's okay. I didn't see the point of them, because until after college, everyone just goes their separate ways anyway. It seemed kind of ridiculous to waste time and stress over something that's (9 out of 10 times) going to end the same way.
I think you've got the right mindset for looking for the right guy. I think it's better to look for someone who is a hard worker, because chances are they'll channel that into making a relationship work.

Ugh. I couldn't do your job. I used to work at a children's museum, and while I loved almost everything about it, there were days when the obnoxious people came out of the woodwork. Plus, being sick all the time from being around so many kids kind of really sucked. Still, I think I'll always miss that job.

They're going to be fun to write about :) It'll be neat, since I handle Kurt and you handle Tiffany- it'll be neat to see what we each come up with!

The Sonic universe is really fascinating. What I love is how much back story there really is for it now.
I think you're right. This is what I came up with:
-He'll be more of a crimson color
-black gloves w/ five fingers

-Green diamon-shaped marks on his arms and legs to show chaos energy after his transformation
-A green swirl on his forehead to show the chaos energy after his transformation
-Silver tips on the end of his dreadlocks

I also changed Ekyt's human clothes. I actually have a sketch of all this, if you wouldn't mind me emailing it to you. If so, do you still have the same email address?

Ekyt could feel the same thing after his transformation, and maybe to a lesser degree before (more on that in a sec). Then they each confide in someone (Tiffany and Knuckles, maybe), and that's where it gets sorted out.

Ekyt attends Linda-Su's unveiling, and even as a human is enthralled by this echidna girl. He'd attend as a Guardian at Knuckles' suggestion (who is trying to get out of the event, but is dragged in by Julie-Su).

Tikal's Prayer: ​http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Tikal%27s_Prayer  I was thinking that this could be a difference between pre-transformation Ekyt and post-transformation Ekyt. To use Chaos Energy, he would need to recite Tikal's prayer before. So it got me thinking about the scene just before his last serious injury. I can see him with his mask cracked (to explain getting rid of it, too), beaten up on the ground, forcing himself to his feet, and muttering Tikal's Prayer to give himself one last burst of power to (insert heroic action here). We could later explain that the excess chaos energy is what actually kept him alive.

I know what you mean. I'm on a hiatus from college right now, but I never quite developed the "skills of the scholar", so to speak XD
 

"Cute" is okay, as long as that isn't the only redeeming quality. Believe me when I say that most of my male counterparts worth anything look past that and into other things. For me, the list is something like: -Someone I can trust with anything  -Someone who takes care of herself (as in not a slob; not referencing overall looks)   -Someone I can have a conversation with   -Someone strong and independent (only the equally fake guys enjoy the fake girls clingy, needy routine). The only thing the sitcoms really got right is that "guys are simple" XD I've also been single my whole life honestly. A lot of that is being shy, a good part of it is also dealing with my anxiety issues. And yet another part of that is interacting with people I meet and thinking that they're asinine, petty creatures who I'd really rather not interface with. People are frustrating!
I can definitely fit Kurt to work that role. I think they'll mesh really well!

Sonic's world is nothing if not flexible! If you read the lastest comics, you'll see that Ixus Naugus has his own "mind control" issues (different from Tiffany's), and they work. So pretty much anything goes!
Ekyt being comatose does indeed refer to when he'll have his transformation. I was thinking about what he'd look like as an echidna. How's this:
Red (Sonic's shoe color) with a white stripe on his chest (like Knuckles), and with gray tips on his dreadlocks with brown eyes? 

Okay, I won't worry about length. As long as our stories mesh, I'll be happy :)

I was leaning towards "Saloc", too. "Baccay" just doesn't roll of the tongue very well.

I never bought the "oh-I'm-so-helpless" thing- having trained with female martial artists for thirteen years, I know that woman are plenty deadly! Honestly, I roll my eyes at the super-girly type of girl. It just doesn't seem like they could really behave that way...
I love it! It would be fun to have Kurt spell things out! A passive male character who is forced to be aggressive- that'll be fun! I plan to make Kurt more laid-back than Ekyt, so he could probably handle speaking with Tiffany.

I hear you. It's hard, knowing every detail about a character but not being able to spell it all out right away.

His struggle between robot and humanity is what made him interesting in SA. If you take out that drama, then you're gutting his character.

I looked up a couple names. I really like the ones you find! I was looking at ​"Baccay", which is "to guard" in Tagalog, or "Saloc", which is "to save" in Tagalog. All the names we found seem to fit. I'll have to think about it and try to choose.

It's not hard for me to write. I'm really girl shy in real life, so it's simple for me to make Ekyt that way. I've told my parents that I'm going to have to wind up with somebody who'll drag me outside the house by the scruff of my neck and make me do fun things XD Linda will definitely be that type of girl with Ekyt. The biggest thing that I want to show is the trust between them. I plan to make Ekyt more standoff-ish this time around, and he's really only going to trust a handful of people.  I wanted to ask- what did you think about Ekyt being adopted by Knuckles' family? And his "spirit guide" Steppenwolf? I kind of made that up on the fly, and it sounded cool, but is it too...weird?

I'm that way, too. Once I get past the beginning, the words definitely flow a bit easier. Take all the time you need :)

Ah, Resident Evil is probably my favorite series after Sonic! If you're going to start the series, I recommend starting with Resident Evil 4 or earlier. The controls change radically between RE3 and RE4. RE4 is probably easier to play. There are some quicktime events, but not too many. The AI is frustrating sometimes, but no worse than any other game. RE4 is also nice because you don't have to know the back story of the rest of the series to understand what's going on in the game.

He needs to talk like a Terminator! "unknown"; "terminated"; "target acquired." That would honestly fix everything for me.

Well, I was looking back at the names of the other guardians. They all had names like Sojourner, or Steppenwolf, or Athair, etc. So I wanted to give him some mystical-sounding name. I haven' settled on anything yet- do you have any suggestions?

 

They made a cool couple, for sure! I like EkytXLinda because they're not an idyllic couple naturally- they MAKE themselves into one :) Plus, it's just cool to have the strong female character grab the shy male character, instead of the other way around.

Man, the things they could have done with not only Sonic, but the Dreamcast! I maintain that if Sega could have afforded to make it able to play DVD's, they would have trounced Sony back then!

Resident Evil 6 did that to me -_-' One controller broken entirely. I don't usually get THAT violent, but man! That game ticked me off!

I liked the part where Rouge found Omega in that jungle area. I think if they scaled back how many lines Omega had, I would like him more. How much does a killer robot really need to say?

I've had characters symbolically "die" just for that reason. In fact, I was thinking about giving Ekyt a "Guardian" name in the future. But he'd been called "Ekyt" by pretty much everyone; it would be more like a title.
