Okay there's a picture that I would like you to photoshop It isn't up yet there are a lot of flaws but I lost the original version and when you draw it a second time it isn't nearly as good as the first but I like the wings, tail, and head I would like it red but you can position the wings differently I always put them too high up and I suck at feet so they aren't there. It is called Saber Tooth Dragon

*huh* There is so many stuff that you can do with Photoshop. I can tell you a few things on how I use PS but you should tell me what you want to know exactly. ;) (else I would need to write a book... XD )
Sure, you can draw one of my characters if you like, it is allways nice to see characters drawn in different styles.

Ok, one more question. How do you change the texture of the paintbrushes you use on Photoshop? Like the texture of your Progatius picture and Kitty Kitty picture look very different. How did you make them look the way they do? (If this question was answered on Lizkays website, then I must of missed it, there was a lot of reading, lol)
SuziDragonlady on May 30, 2007, 6:33:33 AM
Hi again!
It depends on what style you want to create and after this you choose your tools. My Christmas card and the Kitty drawing are coloured in Cell Shading style with black or partially coloured outlines, the new Cars artpiece of Chakée is coloured and shaded with Gradients and the Progatius piece is a digital painting.
For cell shaded pieces I first make a pencil sketch and scan it in, then I take the brush tool in PS to make the outlines, after that I add a new layer with the flat colours without shading, then there comes another new layer with the shading and light areas. These areas are well-defined and not soft this is the main characterisitc on cell shading as it is also used in animated movies.
The gradient shading is very similar to the cell shading method but you don't just fill the shading areas with a darker colour you fill them with a gradient and this makes a very soft crossover between the different colours.
The digital painting is completely different in comparison to the other methods. You don't have an outline and start with just the brush tool by making spots and blotches again and again, and when the ground shape is finished you use thinger brush tips or special hair brush tips to add the details.
I hope this was helpful, if you have any other questions feel free to ask. ;)

Hi!
Oh huh, there is so much you can do with Photoshop, you can fill books with it...
It all depends on what you want to create with it. Do you want to paint with it, make cell shadings, outlines etc.
I suggest to have a look on a few tutorial, it is much easier to learn PS with that and seeing screenshots of it then just to read through descriptions.
Lizkay had a few great tutorials for PS:
http://lizkay.com/Lizkay.com/Design01/index03.htm Just have a look there onto the tutorials. ;)

Well, I'm assuming you have a tablet, so I'm gonna ask you some questions, mmk?
Alrighty, what would you suggest to be the best art tablet to use? i mean, I'm leaning towards getting an wacom intuous 9x12, but would that be good enough? Or do I need something bigger or something? Smaller perhaps? This is a hard question to answer considering all of the variables, but I would be so grateful for a response.
I ask you this question because you are a very talented artist, and I felt that your judgement would be very much worthy. My saved up stash of money rests on the shoulders of the great artists of the internet. Sounds kinda strange (and chancey), but I need A LOT of opinions before I take the plunge.

Hi!
Yes, I'm using a tablet for all my digital arts. I got the Wacom Graphire 4 with 208 mm x 150 mm active area, I think this is big enough. The main reason why did get it was because bigger ones are really not practica, they need much more space and I allways need to take my tablet with me when I'm using other computers. I'm also using the Intuos 1 A5 at work, it's the same size and I don't need something bigger, not even for very big artworks.
The most important things when getting a tablet is to not get one where the pen needs a battery and not get the ones which have only mouse mode available. Any kind of Wacom is good because none of their pens need batteries and they have lots of different adjustable options concerning pressure, angle etc.
And the A5 tablets are also much much cheaper then the big ones. I don't need a big one and I also don't notice a difference between the Intuos and the Graphire, both are really grat to work with (but the Graphire is also cheaper than the Intuos), but that is just my opinion.

Ooo! Much too say! I like that. Thank you sooo much for your opinions and suggestions and whatnot. It's so hard to figure out which to choose from! I am now debating on getting the 6x8 and my original decision. Everyone seems to be more content with the smaller ones. I have no idea, though. So tough!
Thanks again!!! :3

Thank you very much! ;)
I drew a lot when I was a child (starting at the kindergarten) but I stopped when I was about 15 because the most of my friends and my family thought it is not important and I should focus on school, I was sooo dumb...
Well, I started again when I was about 19 and then I totally focused on it, everybody arround told me that this has no future and that I cannot make money with it, HA! And now I'm working as a graphic artist and drawer *teeheet*.
There were no artists in my family except me and my sister, my grandfather drew a bit but that was nothing in comparison what I do today.
Thanks again! ;)
