The answer as to why the mohawk is solid red is because it still had a background applied to it while the guitar did not. The guitar is basically transparent and, thus, picks up the background. I did that to give texture to the guitar but I didn't want the mohawk to have the same texture as they are two different aspects of the piece. Not sure if it turned out okay, though. I thought of deleting the background in the mohawk to give it the same texture as the guitar but decided against it. Probably looks awkward, huh? :)

But I have a couple questions
When you say fringe, do you mean bangs? And if the fringe is covering half her face (assuming you mean vertically) then I won't be able to draw both the eyes to show that one is a different color from the other.

whoa its humbling to know i've inspired another artist... glad to know you're loosening up then! i swith back n forth between realism n anime too... usually my photoshop works are reserved for animes. yep im doing a collab with another artist on balthier n fran... will take time before that's up but stay tuned! =)

impressionistic? haha i was just thinking to myself that id never get there... but yea lately i've been doing more loose brushstrokes (tablet strokes if you will). im still experimenting a lot though; doubt my style would stay the same. man id love to see how yuna came out =)

oddly enough i never noticed i had a style. you've got your own great works coming along with realism, so hey be proud of that! =) n you're welcome manx... its always nice to encourage each other.
