I thought you might like that. There really wasn't much of a relationship between Amy and Dan, and I didn't want to do a complete Odo/Quark thing, so that's what I wound up with.
Working on my Japanese tonight. Translating a manga. I suck at this, lol. But it's fun. And I'm working a bit more on 'Serving'.

Also, be aware of some body language signs that he may like you. I’m talking about the small signs, and if you notice some of them, you can be a step closer to being sure that he likes you. Those signs are: pupil dilation (his pupils dilate when talking to a person he likes – scientifically proven, but hard to catch), blushing (his face may turn red if you give him a compliment or say something unexpectedly pleasuring to him), body position (when you talk to him, if he turns his whole body in your direction, and not just the head), touching an hugging…
(Also, here's something to look for when you're on a date with a girl.)
1) Look him in the eyes
2) Look at his lips
3) Look at his eyes again + SMILE
4) Move in
And he will also move in and kiss you.

Cool, enjoy ^^ I can't wait to hear what you think.

I love articles like this. I know they're not for me, but it does explain a lot!
So, the story of the story:
I was talking to my school counselor (college level; this is recent) about various things. You know, careers, classes, etc. He asked me 'well, are you seeing anyone? Any girls in your life?'
I was feeling particulary melancholy, so I responded in kind:
Me: My time for romance has passed.
C: (blinks in shock) What do you mean?
Me: I didn't get the sweet, innocent childhood romance. I don't have the childhood friend who I'll grow up to marry. Hell, all the girls I knew as a child either got knocked up, are in a religious cult, or are ugly as sin, if they didn't do drugs (true story!). Adult romances suck anyway. Beyond sex, what is there? Two people who hate each other get married on a whim because of a vague attraction or, in my case, some Italian relatives dropping hints. Either way, you get married, hate your spouse, have a kid, and train him to do the same thing. I think i'd prefer a daughter, by the way. But what the hell, get married so you can hurry up and get divorced and have your ex-wife take everything, including your testicles. If you're smart enough to avoid that fate, you still date someone you rarely see outside of work .There's no 'let's go for a walk in the woods' or 'hey, the beach! Oops, saw your tits! "Oh, you jerk! I see your dick! Now we're even! Let's kiss sweetly'. No, it's "wanna get some food after work". Best case scenario: "Yes". Worst caseL "No, I'm too tired". Now THERE is romance, my friend. Great stuff, isn't it?

lmao, there's that, too. Unless you get a guy like me that is absolutely paranoid of AIDS and the like, and will insist on a blood test first, lmao. (starting to see why I'm single?)
I'm terrified of being asked out sometimes. How do you let someone down gently, especially when there's a really awkward reason for not liking them back?
Well, actually, there was a little more to it. It's less interesting, but:
Counselor: Well, that's certainly a fatalistic way to think. Why do you think that?
Me: Single. 22. No redeeming qualities. I mean, I'm into manga/comics, Star Trek, and fanfiction. That's the f***ing virgin trifecta for guys!
Counselor: (Looks up his schedule on his computer) I think we should meet again. How's next week for you?
Me: You aren't going to change me. It's going to take a girl for that. Preferably a mix of goth and Japanese, I think. Unless you've got Terry Farell's phone number?
Counselor: (literal facepalm) You'd be a great standup comic.
Me: I was thinking lifecoach. You know, the ones who talk people down from the buildings before they jump...

Makes sense. I've never been good with lying.
Oh, so to answer your comment on that fic:
Yes, pretty depressing. I had a day like that (except for the last part, sadly enough), and just jotted it down and added some more detail. I don't know if I'll add more. I'll have to have another melancholy day, I think. I loved the ending, too. Wish a girl would try that on me. It would totally work!
I put the poor guy through the wringer. College annoys me. Poor guy. He's right on the front line. He's a nice guy who tries his best. But I'm a lost cause, lol.

Killing is much more efficient, though XD
Well, thank you ^^ Glad I can help.
I completely get that. I swear, when I came home and saw some ants in my room one day, I couldn't even sleep in my room for two full days. I've got a special phobia about ants, thanks to a fun little incident from childhood. lol. I hate those things.

Yeah, there you go. It can't miss!
Nothing much to it. I was playing on the driveway, and I picked up a roof tile. Under it was a whole slew of ants, and they fell all over me. I could hear them moving and making these creepy little sounds. So I panicked, shook them off, and ran like hell. Lol, I might have actually streaked, being so desperate to get them off me.

I'm the kind of idiot who would miss the point and go charging in with a rolled up magazine or a shoe to go kill the scary bugs. It wouldn't occur to me to just slide over and make room if I'm honest.
It was funny ^^ Except the ants. The streaking was fun. Too bad it's illegal to do it intentionally.

Well, the girl would be like "eeeek!" And you'd come running in to see who was trying to murder her. She'd be up on top of the bed, whimpering and pointing to whatever corner the bug disappeared to.
"I just saw like, a huge cockroach crawling across my bedspread!!! I don't think I can sleep in this bed anymore. Could I... could I stay with you for tonight?"

lol. Although I'm totally fine with girls being taller than me if they can deal with me being shorter. Dax is taller than me, so...
I love the pigtails, melancholy expression, and goth sort of look.
(Checks comments) No, you didn't. Shame! jk- you've had a lot going on.
Pardon me if my spelling gets a little erratic. I just had a major anxiety attack. But I was kind of expecting it, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been ^^

I'm okay. It's just scary for a while. Mine usually play on my fear of vomiting, so I'll get stomach aches, my throat will tighten up, and I'll get weak. But I've had chest pains, loss of feeling in my shins and forearms (weird one, apparently), trouble breathing, dizziness, feelings of despair (had that one tonight, too).
But I'm okay, thank you ^^ Or I will be. I'll get over it.

That would be nice, lol. Sucking on things is supposed to cure it, so...ugh. No male company, please XD
Although that much is real. If you feel anxious, get a hard candy or a sucker. It absolutely helps. Also, anything with pepperminet. Gum, mints, mentos- all helpful. And green tea for the stomach.

IT certainly wouldn't hurt! lol, well sex releases all kinds of interesting endorphins. And I'd imagine it'd be damn distracting to just start having sex during an anxiety attack. Haven't tried that one yet.
On the flipside, though, the girl would have to be incredibly understanding, especially if this screwed up a date or something. you know me- I'm the type who would absolutely make it up, all while agonizing over it.
Thaks for keeping me company, btw. IF you need to go to bed, whenever you do, please feel free. I'm over it now.
And Serving has been updated. Yay! lol.

The discussion helps in a big way ^^
I admit that I want a relationship, but I'm worried about being overwhelmed at first. I'd like to be friends first, and the kind of gradually work up to really getting close. If that makes any sense.
Oh, I meant to ask 2 things:
-Would you be interested if I wrote an add-on to 'Serving' about Yuji and Miko's life together?
-Could I finagle you into drawing Azami some time down the line?

Unfortunately, there isn't much to say. Just one little annoyance after another. My buddy was supposed to come over tomorrow, but cancelled. I was supposed to apply for a new job tomorrow, but there's a doctor's appointment instead, which will officially put me out of the running. And it's almost time for my college bill to come in the mail. It kills me to pay those bastards. On top of all that, I'm still single with no prospects and I have zero self respect. shoot. Maybe I need to start giving Yuji some luck. Maybe it's karma or something for mistreating him -_-'
Oh well. How was your day?

Hey, you're an amazing guy. You're smart, funny, sweet. You're an amazing listener, and are always up for a challenge. Your flirting skills are on the up, and you're fun to talk to. I'm sure you're cute, too, though I have no tangible proof of that. If you can't find a girl, it's because you're either not looking in the right places or you just aren't meant to find her yet. I'd jump at the chance to date a guy like you. You appreciate and respect women like most men nowadays don't. Don't let it get you down.
My day was fine, but that's not important.

That's kind of you. Put a smile on my face for the first time today. I think I just need a good bout with self-pity and I'll be ok.The job thing was the hardest to swallow. I mean, it fit me perfectly. The only thing that worries me is that I can usually manage my stress just fine. I normally don't talk about it. So I must have been really bugged to even mention it.
It's important to me. If you didn't have a good day, I wouldn't keep ranting. Jk- I do actually like to know my friends are happy ^^

If the appointment was for me, I would. But it's for my Grandma. And God help us, if we put my career over the fact that there's nothing wrong with her but what's in her head, I would never hear the end of it. She's got anxiety like I do, but she makes no effort to control it and then critizes me if I have an issue. --'
I'd take 'average' at this point. I think I'm in a rut or something. when 'bad' becomes 'average' then you need to worry, lol.
What do you think of this for a fic's centerpiece:
-Yuji spanks Azami out of nowhere. She stops him, hikes up her skirt and slips her panties off, then tells him to continue?
-Yuji loses a bet and has to be Sakura's maid for a week. Like, literal crossdressing maid. But it'll end well for him.

I don't know why, but I've always enjoyed wearing suits and ties and the like. I liked school uniforms, too (no, the girls did not dress cute. Private school uniforms and the supposed advantage they give you are highly overrated, at least in the US). Weird.
Know what kind of dress you're going to get? Not that I have any clue there, lol.

Oh don't get me wrong. I love dressing up. It's just taking the time to actually go and purchase it. You also have to try it onn, and find matching jewelry... and shoes...
Not for certain, although I was in there the other day and one caught my eye...

I think so. You totally caught me offguard.
(evil grin; repeates the phrase in a perfect Bashir voice) Is that better? And if you're going to smack, then we need to get out the handcuffs and whips.
To some degree. But I also love the concept of a couple against the rest of the world (ala every single fic I've ever done for Naruto XD)

I do hope you won't be making that mistake again. ;)
If you've come to be handcuffed, you came to the wrong girl. (Wags finger)
Maybe to an extent. I dunno though. My ex boyfriend was a bdsm sadist. Well, is. But every thought of bdsm makes me think of him, so it kind of turns my stomach. Not to say I wouldn't like it rough now and then! Just maybe a bit less on the kinky side. XD

Nope. I've learned my lesson XD
(Tosses the handcuffs away and tackles you) Okay. No trouble there. Tell me...what next? (smirk)
I definitely prefer the woman to take charge, at least sometimes. The firs time would be great, so I can kind of gauge what she likes. I would say it's probably more difficult to please a woman. We men are simple, lol. Plus, there's kinda only one spot to concentrate on with guys, until you get back to BDSM.

I'm actually surprised you've held out this long!
Well, perhaps the bed would be a better place to continue than the floor...
I'll let you in on a little secret. It's really not that much more difficult. Women are aroused in most of the same areas that men are. Probably more, actually, making your job easier. xD. Taking charge now and then is fine. Something about relinquishing, or taking, all control just bothers me for some reason.

Lol. Hey, I'm new here! XD
Fair enough. Cannonball! (Jumps onto the bed)
Ah, that makes sense. still indimidating as hell. girls have way more complex plumbing, though.
I think I'm just really open minded about that sort of thing at this point. Kind of like a kid in a candy store; I want everything. Except total control. That I don't like. But I don't mind giving the control up. At least in theory.

A few for much later in the story. For our current place, I've got about 7 that I've already told you about. I'm still thinking, though. I keep getting distracted by Serving. I'm right in the middle of a really intense part, and I don't want to stop writing, but my ideas aren't any good.

Well, it's my birthday a month from now. That's about it, though.
Oh, here. I've got a storyline I might make into a full fic, but is scrapped for now. I forgot that I wrote this:
Dax liked the gamma shift. It was so calm and peaceful compared to the hectic day shift hours. The pleasant, quiet hums of machinery and computers working had the effect of a technological waterfall sound. It was sort of like a Zen thing in the steel confines of the space station.
With the lights dimmed in time with the earth clock that they had all grown accustomed to, the subtle blues, reds, and greens coming from the various consoles matched the overall relaxed feeling of the station.
OPS was quiet this time of night, empty of Bajoran and Starfleet personnel alike, save for a skeleton maintenance crew that Chief O’Brien on duty around the clock for the eventual breakdown of some piece of equipment. This Cardassian-built space station wasn’t in the best of shape, thanks to its former occupants trashing its before they left.
Dax had just started to close her eyes and exhale when the sound of the turbolift reached her ears. She turned from her station to see who was coming at such a late hour. She was surprised to see Ensign Holmes stepping off the turbolift.
“Good evening, Daniel,” Dax commented amiably, offering a smile of greeting. “What brings you here? Aren’t you off duty?”
For a moment, Holmes considered telling her the real reason he’d come. For some reason, even though he was new here, he felt like he could trust these people. Here he was thinking of telling Dax, whom he’d only known for short while, one of his greatest secrets. He was tempted, yes, but he wasn’t quite ready to tell her just what was going on.
“I guess I’ve got a bit of insomnia, so I thought I’d catch up on some work. If you’re really relishing your quiet time, I can take it with me back to my quarters. Although Bashir would have a fit.”
Dax cocked her head, a question in her tone of voice. “Julian? Why would he mind?”
Holmes tried to make sure that he was sounding believable. He wasn’t entirely lying, he convinced himself as he said:
“If you have insomnia, you aren’t supposed to stay where your bed is. It’s some psychological thing,” he told her, waving a hand in the air to convey he didn’t understand the subtleties.
“Oh, that’s right. It’s a way to train your mind that when you see your bed, it’s time to go to sleep. That way you don’t associate any other thoughts with your bed.”
“Yeah, that was it. Let me guess -” Holmes grinned, deciding to try his hand at playful joking,“ Curzon was a sleepwalker?”
Jadzia gave him a friendly smile, enjoying the banter. “No, actually it was Tobin. He knew his way around an engine room, but when it came to girls… God, he used to get so nervous that when one paid attention to him he couldn’t sleep or even eat if he had any feeling toward her at all.”
Holmes actually stopped dead. That sounded so much like himself. He would be a fool to let this opportunity go by without taking advantage of it. How often could you ask a girl what she liked without really asking her?
“Oh, really? And what do you, as Jadzia, think of that? I mean, is it different for you? Well, obviously it’s different, since you’re a female, but -”
Dax felt herself smiling again. It was good to reminisce sometimes. But even more than that, she had a feeling that this question was really important to Holmes.
“Well, I suppose that Jadzia would have empathy for somebody like Tobin.”
Dax had the distinct feeling that Holmes was very much like Tobin. A little more refined and with a different brand of intelligence, but the anxiety… That was the same. She wouldn’t have picked it out if she had lived through it herself in a manner of speaking.
I can’t help him unless he asks. Or maybe that’s why he’s here. I’ve never been a doctor, but I can see that he’s got something going on with him right now. Maybe he just needs company? I’ll have to ask Julian tomorrow.
Dax wouldn’t have objected to the company of the young ensign anyway. He was a genuinely good hearted man in as he had said himself he wasn’t in it for the awards or the fame.
“How about a drink?” Jadzia asked.
Dan felt some self blushing in spite of himself. He wondered if her question was one of those situations where he was supposed to read between the lines. How the hell was he supposed to know? He and Tobin, apparently were two peas in a pod in that what they knew about women could be described on the head of a self-sealing stem bolt.
Then again, what did he care how she meant that? Whether she was being friendly or hinting it something else, Dan knew he would enjoy her company. So why split hairs and risk alienating her?
He was closer to the replicator, so he walked the short distance over, then glanced back toward Dax.
“What would you like?”
“Well, I’m on duty, so…raktajino.”
Holmes nodded approvingly. Being the straight arrow he was, he would have lowered his opinion of Dax if she had wanted synthehol. So he ordered a raktajino for her, and one for himself, too, since he’d been pledging to try that drink (since just now finding out that she liked it).
“Here you go.”
Holmes set her drink down on one of the workstations nearby. He chose a chair that was close enough for conversation, but far enough away to give her privacy, if she so desired. If not, well, he could move closer. She hadn’t seemed to be doing anything in particular when he’d come in, except relaxing. That very fact made him feel guilty for lying.
