I almost feel guilty I can't control it better. Consider that I could barely leave the house six years ago and now I can move normally, I should be happy. But still...(shakes head)
Ah, I see. They never even did that after a stabbing on my campus. Stupid people --' I'm going to apply for a security position there, I think.

Maybe not, but it's certainly a large part of the reason I don't even seriously attempt to date. I just can't bear to put my biggest weakness out there. It's not so much ashamed as...well, it's almost never a good thing to show your cards too early, so to speak. If I can improve more; gain some confidence first...
Hey, sure! lol. For some reason, I've always wanted to do security work. Must be the Yuji in me.

I'm really sorry about that. For the life of me, I could not get any of my internet browsers to connect to FAC. I assumed the site was down for maintenance or something. At any rate, I'm really sorry about that.
Problem is, if I'm going to have the anxiety attack, it'll be on the first date. lol. Hell of a thing to try to explain when I'm not sure how to word it. I'm not sure there is a good word for an anxiety attack.
lol. I wear a uniform normally for my refereeing, too, but it's decidedly unflattering.

No, not intentionally anyway. lol. I wound up getting over it by simple fatigue of all things.
First date would be like
Me: No, really, I'm not a psycho!
Girl: What, you just play one in a movie? Loser!
Me: Well, you're right about the loser part, no getting around that...
I'm better today, thank you ^^

You'd be surprised at how I can ignore my natural instincts XD Now, if the girl was in danger or something, THEN I could focus. So I have a fear of recreation, maybe?
Good luck with your classes :) I'm starting mine tomorrow...or whenever the professor emails me and tells me the course code I need to begin. Why I don't have this code is beyond me. But meh, whatever.

lol, usually incredibly stimulating.
The only good ideas I've had for romances are usually involved Azami and Yuji and Kuroko or Yuji. But nothing comes of them. Just ideas. No stories, no nothing. Right now I've got one where Azami forces Yuji to cross dress, ostensibly trying to help him understand girls. And in I'll point out a few things (like the fact that perfectly rational guys suddenly act like dicks in front of a lady. Pardon my use of slang for male genatalia, but it fit the description) that I've noticed over the years.

Headaches seem to be common lately. I never have to worry about that with my rl friends. They're all so useless --'
I hate Jon Cryer (2 and a half men). That jerk got a freakin' kissing/sex scene with Jeri Ryan! And here I sit! So damned unfair! If she's gonna wind up with some pathetic loser, it'll be me, dammit!

I don't think they grow woods deep enough to hide the kind of girls that would like me XD
If they get Terry Farell on that show, I'm gonna be pissed! XD
So, here's a little clip from what I was working on:
Ensign Holmes was nervous. He had tried to mediate until it was his turn, but he couldn’t even see the fire in his mind at this point. Maybe he wasn’t as diligent as he needed to be? His Vulcan mentor had said six months, and here he was, pushing seven months, and he could only use this technique to stay calm, rather than become calm..
That was moot point now. Beyond the next set of doors lay a standard Federation shuttle. Every kid dreams of piloting a shuttle at some point or another, interested in Starfleet or not.
Except Holmes. He hated it. Hell, his post was on a space station. As in, stationary. Not moving.
It’s for the command track. Just do it and get it over with.
His firm admonition to himself gave him resolve enough to walk through the doors and into the airlock. He was up on upper pylon three, the top of the station. Maybe that was all relative in space, but it didn’t seem relative now. It seemed way the hell up high.
All the better to scare you with, my dear. Wonder if my ancestors hated driving- what were they? Ah. Cars. I wonder if they hated those things as much as I do this shuttle.
Holmes stopped purely out of habit, as his thought was elsewhere, and called out “Permission to come aboard?”
“Granted,” came a voice from the cockpit. It was male, but sounded young. Usually these instructors were old and harsh. Maybe this was a lucky break?
Holmes tugged his uniform tunic straight and stepped into the craft. He looked around, spotting his instructor in the navigator’s chair. Quite involuntarily, Holmes let himself relax a bit. His instructor was a Bolian, and they were by and large the most jovial of alien races that he had ever met.
“Don’t let your guard down just because I’m Bolian,” the instructor called out, clicking his tongue. “I’m only half Bolian. The other half is Betazoid.”
Holmes had to stop acerbic Klingon curses from floating through his mind. This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all. If there was any race that inspired unease in him as much as Bolians inspired good feelings, it was Betazoids. Ever since that one annoying instructor at the academy, that Troi woman…
Chuckling at Holmes’ apparent worry, the instructor introduced himself, extending a blue hand out for a handshake.
“I’m Commander Lech. No reason to be nervous, Ensign. Is this your first time taking the test?”
Holmes nodded, choking out a ‘yes, sir’ as his mind feebly wandered through the basics of piloting again. To Holmes’ immense worry, his mind was blank. He knew of old Japanese concepts from earth that dictate it’s better to have ‘no mind’ at a time like this, but he would have felt better if a coherent thought could pass through his head.
After vaguely hearing the instructor ask him to sit, Holmes began to run through pre-launch procedures. When he blasted away from DS9 at half-impulse rather than the quarter-impulse as regulations specifically stated, he could feel it in his gut.
I am so screwed.

Aww, don't say that! Just because one hasn't made itself known yet, doesn't mean it doesn't exist!
I love this! xD I hadn't thought about there being a 'driver test' for the shuttles. xD For a second though, I thought it was Amy/Dan's friendship-bonding scene. Then I was like, "wait, shuttles? what?" But yeah. I like it!

Lol, hey, it's true though! Ah well. Maybe they'll invent holograms or androids during my lifetime...
Actually, it goes a bit in the opposite direction. Further down:
Sitting with Amy and Doctor Bashir, Holmes gave the replimat table a hammer-like shot with his fist.
“Damn it! I knew as soon as I made that first mistake…no, no, before that! I knew before that I was doomed!”
Julian and Amy exchanged glances. They had sat here, hoping to hear good news, or expecting to be of some comfort. But seeing the unflappable Dan Holmes so distraught was disturbing. They had known that his career was everything to him, but for such a minor setback to rattle him so much…
Running a hand through his bushy brown hair, Holmes glowered at the tabletop, muttering “I’m in the wrong game.”
That led to a tense silence, broken by Amy when she decided enough was enough.
“Look, Dan, so you failed a stupid test? Get over it!”
Bashir knew instantly that Amy had said the wrong thing. Normally, Ensign Holmes could take her rather persnickety comments quietly, but today was an exception. Holmes was on his feet in a second, his finger swinging out in an accusatory arc.
“Look Amy, I’m not in the mood for your ‘tough love’ pep talks today, alright? I failed the test, and that’s that! I need to figure out what to do with myself, and now!”
Holmes stormed off, a path being cut for him by rather shaken patrons.

lol, then I got her reaction almost right. This is what I had down:
Bashir and Amy watched him go, both wearing looks of shock on their faces.
“Dan doesn’t just snap like that!” Amy protested, her face flushed from being half of the center of attention. “What the hell was that about? All I said was-”
Bashir took her hand gently, trying to word this correctly. If not, there would be a second explosion in the replimat.
“Amy, dear, I think it’s more of how you said it

Well, I wasn't planning on doing the first borg thing until they had at least a basic friendship, and then the stranded-planet-thing would come later, after they'd bonded a bit more.
I do want her to feel a LITTLE remorseful for throwing him through Bashir's biobed. He IS a redshirt, after all.
How far did you get through it?
I'm good tonight, and yourself?

Ah, I see. My misunderstanding, then. I think I should outline a bit of Yuji's future. You know how, on DS9, everyone more or less gets along? Aside from Kira being obnoxious in the beginning, pretty much everyone finds their place, right? I wanto Holmes to be sort of an exception. Like, some people like him; some people don't. They take his choice to study and spend time by himself as arrogance (at least at first). Bashir is going to dislike him at first for other reasons altogether. So as a result, Holmes makes friends with Kira, Dax, and then Commander and Jake Sisko. O'Brien will work with anyone, so he just respects Holmes' work. Odo dislikes him; has since their first meeting.
Anything special about Amy that I should know? Our next couples chapter should really develop our OC's personalities I think.
I got through most of it. Saw the kissing scene. I skipped a bit to the end this morning.
Well, today wasn't a good day. First thing this morning my Grandma went in for minor surgery. Then my Dad got in a car accident. He's fine, but the vehicle is ruined beyond repair. I wanted to watch Star Trek: Generations so bad. I even told him 'Maybe someday you will. I doubt this will be the last ship to carry the name...Enterprise'. I figured it was OK since he was joking around a bit himself. But anyway, yeah, not a stellar day.

Anything special like how? Like, personality quirks? I plan to give her a specific case of agoraphobia- fear of wide open spaces.
Kissing scene was my favorite part. xD Not gonna lie.
I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope your Granma comes out okay. I did laugh a little at the Enterprise thing, though. xD Isn't that from one of the movies?

Personality quirks would be great. Any particularly strong friendships? Or dislikes that might come in handy? I was thinking that maybe Amy could be the one who finally 'gets' Holmes. Like 'Oh, wait, he's not a jerk. He's just an awkward, shy loner'. Maybe that could be the big opening to their friendship.
It was hot, no doubt.
Thanks :) She's doing good so far. And yes, you are correct. It was from Star Trek: Generations, after Enterprise D crashlands on Veridian IV, the last scene of the movie where Picard and Riker are standing in the remains of the bridge. It fit the situation XD

I think a Starfleet officer posted to a deep space station with a fear of wide open spaces is hilariously ironic. Hmm. Her and Quark, as I've already mentioned. I plan on giving her and Odo a nice companionship, if not a fast friendship, just 'cause I love Odo to bits. She hates lettuce, celery, basically anything green. (is that what you meant? xD) Yeah, I was thinking that, too. After her initial confrontation with him, where she blows him off and he's hurt and confused, and Julian confronts her and she realizes she's prejudiced... And then, maybe one night her agoraphobia takes particularly strong hold and she and Holmes bump into each other in some quiet part of the station, and he offers to teach her how to meditate? Maybe? What do you think?

That's perfect, on all counts. Is there any she dislikes, or any species? Like, hates the Cardassians, loves the Bajorans, etc?
I like that idea for their meeting. Perfect, actually. Both up on a late-night stroll. We could have an incident where there was a hull breach and Amy saw it first hand, had a nasty nightmare about it, and went walking. Holmes could be standing on the top level of the promenade, in a deep trance. THne the mediation comes in? This is what you already said, so you get credit XD I'm just having fun fleshing out the specifics ^^
Ah, I see. I myself would like to similar to Tom Paris, maybe.
It just popped out. Fun stuff. It's not like I could whip that line out at any other time and have it fit, right? XD

Not in particular. She's fascinated by the Cardassians, but she is wary to trust them. Andorians, though... she definitely has low tolerance for them.
That's beyond perfect! That reminded me of this scene of BSG. It's like, 20 seconds long.

I can understand that. He's pretty hot.
No, but you could whip out something else, far more interesting. ;))

That's a good thing, then. Her, Garak, and Bashir having lunch would be entertaining.
That's it, perfect! That's exactly what I was picturing! We can even have some hapless reshirt (ok, technically, gold shoulder black jumpsuit at this point) get sucked out. Nice find!
Hell, I'd be happy just to have that kind of confidence!
lol, indeed it would. But I'd need to make sure there was enough clearance first...

I was thinking that I'd make Holmes out to be a 'pampered command track jackass' a bit more by having him join the Siskos for dinner semi-often, plus by having him at the right place at the right time for things he doesn't want, like that medal from Bajor. Maybe make Amy's views of him justified at first, through no fault of his own.
This idea came from me hating Wesley Crusher somehow.
Yup. Poor guy. Fated to get blown out into the vaccuum of space.
Still, Paris has got me beat, easy.
Got an empty shuttlebay? XD

lol, my favorite one isn't on there. There's this one where Picard goes to exit the turbolift, and the doors don't open. He goes 'Bloody hell!'. Riker, in character, says 'Are you alright, sir?" Then Data pipes up in his Picard impression 'I'm fine, Number one!'. Then they all lose it.

Oh, I'm one of those people that throws 100% of their being into something their passionate about. I tend to take it hard when my efforts in something, be it work or school, come up short. How about you?
I think so. Do you have an idea for a first contact situation?
On that subject, I came up with some episode ideas, one of which I think involves first contact.
Confidence: Holmes must make a decision that will affect the entire station. He is pressured by everyone, who all want him to make the decisions to favor them.
The Best Among Us: Aliens reveal the darksides of the DS9 crew, and only Amy and Bashir can save them, having been in the better-shielded sickbay. With Odo and Quark being the only other uninfected beings, the station is a hazard. Bajoran Terrorists try to take advantage of the situation.
Walking Tall (part 1): It’s up to Quark and Amy to rescue a planet that is dying but doesn’t believe it. They are captured, with a lone sympathizer to help them. Amy has to replicate a cure quickly to prove it can be done.
Walking Tall (part 2): Amy saves the planet and is hailed as a hero. As the shuttle bearing Ensign Holmes and Major Kira, the planet is attacked and destroyed by the Borg; the people assimilated. The shuttle escapes, but is heavily damaged. They make it back to DS9. There is a massive battle, with all of the docked ships destroyed, and many people assimilated. Battle for DS9. Enterprise D comes to the rescue. Bashir collects samples of Borg parts for further study.
Prophets Walking: The wormhole is affected by a spatial anomaly. Sisko sends Dax out with Holmes as a pilot (his new hobby) to find out what’s happening. The wormhole beings tell them that they are being hurt. A Borg Transwarp Conduit is at the heart of the cause, and Dax and Holmes must destroy it.
A Bitter Herb: Amy is infected by Borg nanites that Bashir collected previously. Bashir must cure her and prevent a station-wide outbreak as the nanites can leap from person to person unless killed by a mysterious element that Amy accidently stumbled into while infected. Hard to identify, so there need to be volunteers to be infected for testing.

My mom's bosses are threatening to halve her pay, and we simply can't survive on half of her salary. So we're looking at having to sell the house, go on food stamps, etc, etc...
Well, do you remember the situation I told you about where because Amy has the nanites, she can control the Borg drones that (insert planet name here)'s people have learned to control? I was thinking she and O'Brien (or some other crew member) were sent to scout out the area, like Riker did in that one episode of TNG. They're immediately stranded because of some global defense field or something, and they're caught on the wrong border of a religious war between two groups. They're trapped there for several months. My story would focus on her and the other crew member, while yours would focus on Holmes' and the rest of the station's attempts to get them back. What do you think?
(Love all of those plots btw)
ALso, I may not be immediately responsive. I'm scrambling to finish this paper before midnight, which was due today. But once I'm done, I'll be back with you, if you'd care to stick around.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that! That sucks on a great many levels. Really sorry to hear that.
I love it! That could totally work. Given that this is DS9, I think you should consider having the planet be in the Gamma Quadrant, so there's the added problem of The Founders and the Jem Ha'dar. Something like that, so even the Defiant isn't quite enough to deal with it.
That's okay; take your time. I'll be around as long as I can keep my eyes open.

Yeah, that was my thinking, that it would be in the gamma quadrant. I need a valid reason for Amy to go though, as opposed to Julian or someone of higher rank. And who do you think the other crewman should be? xD I keep saying "crewman." DS9 doesn't have a "crew," does it?
-_- Can you write my paper for me? xD Pretty please?

I think DS9 has a crew. Let's see...how about Bashir has been called to Bajor for a medical summit, to help bring Bajor's medical technology up to Federation standards? That puts Amy in the position of going with O'Brien.
lol, only if you don't mind failing dismally...

Sorry it wasn't a very creative thought :(
O'Brien because he wants to test a new feature of the shuttle (That will somehow come in handy later, keeping with ST tradition), and because O'Brien is the Operations officer, which means that if someone is going to get jailed, sick, or killed, it'll be him (also keeping with ST tradition).
How about this: They receive a planetary distress signal, priority channel, through the wormhole. But due to the non-linear nature of the wormhole, the message is fragmented and the origin muddled. They wind up on the right planet, which initially snares them in with a tractor beam used for planetary defense. Amy helps them, but she can't save all her patients, and one or two die under her care, being critical cases before she could synthesize a cure. This is a criminal offense on this world, and Amy and O'Brien are unjustly jailed for it.
Go you! XD
xD I got it done, and 30 minutes before deadline! Woot.

Well, since it's supposed to be first contact (so they can't reveal their true identities), I don't think that's a fitting idea, lovely idea that it is! Maybe DS9 has been sending scouts every so often to this planet, to assess how close it could be to joining the Federation. They like what they see and send O'Brien (as pilot and ? ) and Amy ( to alter their appearances and do discreet physiological scans on the indigenous people.
Would it be plausible for them to borrow a cloak-capable ship from the Klingons? Is the Federation on that good of terms with the Klingons at that point?

I try :D To think, I mean.
Or we could have it be an accidental first contact situation. That might be best, because if it's planned, then SOP would be to have Sisko there. Unless you replace O'Brien with Sisko, at any rate. Maybe they're conducting routinue scans of the space surrounding the wormhole to see what medical effects it might produce. They come along a planet with a distress beacon out, stop to check, find out the aliens are hostile but need medical help. They keep O'Brien alive as a hostage, occasionally hurting him so Amy will work faster.
What if O'Brien is along to adapt a Kligon cloaking device to a Federation runabout? That would explain why he's there. Amy's role could be to do exactly what you said.

No, Sisko wouldn't have to be there for scouting. Riker did his intelligence gathering on his own.
My whole basis for this is that they're there undercover (and their cover isn't blown). They're caught by the 'bad' side of the religious war, and they're assumed to be from the other side, gathering information. They're locked up (and the cell they're in already has a member of the opposing side) and O'Brien is tortured for a few days "to loosen his girlfriend's tongue," before the other side rescues them along with the other person. In order to stay alive, they need to convince these people that they really are who they say they are, so they're not given away.

Ah, I see. I was approaching this from the wrong angle. In that case, I think you've got the storyline perfect. We just need a reason for them to go undercover to begin with. Or, rather, we need to clearly state that because the Post-warp civilization is advanced enough technologically but in a state of political turmoil, undercover scouting is necessary.
Do you have any idea what kind of aliens these are? Any special speech? Looks? Etc?

Yeah. Maybe the (main) reason of the religious war is because of the first warp-flight, and one side believes that it's a sin against nature and their gods, or whatever, while the other believes it's natural progress. etc, etc.
I figured very human-looking, except maybe some sort of ridging around the temples, or something. Similar speech differentiations to Earth, like British/Scottish/American/etc.
What do you think? Any ideas?
Also, I just sent you an email. ^^

I love it. That's a story that's been waiting to happen. Take it and run!
How about protruding temples (as opposed to human's concave temples), and maybe a triangular mouth, just to make them different?
I think you should distinguish the sides by their clothes. Frocks and robes for the religious side that is against the flight (maybe have them be more gentle looking and older), jumpsuits for the side that is, for these purposes, more military, maybe with a crest on them denoting their religious beliefs. They should probably be younger and more aggressive.
Ah, very nice! Love GL Amy (Including the face!), but your Doctor Who OC is smokin'! Love the exposed navel and tight tummy ^^

Let's see...okay, you know the little bones on the sides of your ankle? The temples could protrude like that. And the mouth. When you open your mouth, it makes an 'O' shape, right? So instead of two equal length lips, this alien mouth has three equal length lips, forming an equilateral triangle. One point comes under the nose, the other two come where normal human lips are. Does that help any?
I would use the clothes in that picture as a basis for the religious side. And maybe if you took the jumpsuit from Enterprise, made it a more drab color (like a gray or white color), added pockets, and then, around the shoulders, you could have the colors that they associate with religion (maybe green and cyan or something) tossed around their neck, the number of stripes denoting rank.
The face was not terrible!
Yeah, that one was hot. Love that outfit. I can picture Azami in something similar, so I was quite partial to it ^^

The temples, I dig. But the triangular mouth. xD An interesting idea, but that would be hard to duplicate on Amy and O'Brien. Not to mention it kind of creeps me out. xDD
Was too!
I have a pair of pants exactly like the ones I drew her in. And I've thought about cutting off a hoodie to wear to bed like that. I like to be warm, wearing sleeves, but sometimes I get too hot. This seemed to meet both of those criteria.

Bear through the stuff that isn't military camp stuff, and you'll see the scene that this whole idea is based off of.

Very well then. Another species, perhaps.
I would suggest giving each of them a sympathizer among the opposite ranks. Maybe one of the 'military' males takes a shine to Amy, while one of the 'religious' females has a yen for O'Brien. That way you have a potential escape route and conflict point. These two 'guides' dislike each other, and if their respective sides find out that they've been aiding someone from the otherside, open hostilities could increase. That could be what leads to O'Brien's capture.
That does sound comfortable. Though I prefer to sleep closer to naked...
I'll take a look.

You read my mind. I had every intention of giving Amy an admirer. Although O'Brien... he's got Keiko. (this is before any serious romance occurs with Amy and Julian, just casual interest)
I slept naked last night.
:) Lemme know what you think. There's also a particular kissing scene I'm quite fond of. Very nice. I think you'll know it when you get to it. Dark alleys and such.

Maybe we should reverse the status of the admirers. Amy should have the 'religious' admirer and O'Brien the 'Military' admirer What you just said gave me an idea. Maybe rather than a love interest, we have O'Brien help them solve a problem, and be respected, engineer to engineer. Something like that. Some clear point where we can illustrate similarities, to make the aliens feel somewhat familiar.
I've been thinking about Holmes. I'd like to eventually give him an episode where he disobeys and order and gets busted down in rank. For him, it's like 'what the hell? That's never happened? I did the right thing', which leads to a whole moral dillema. Most ST episodes have a message in them, and I was thinking it would suit Holmes to illustrate that the justice system in use is flawed. That you can be punished for doing good. The idea came from an episode of Voyager, plus the fact that the law allows for someone to break into your house, hurt his leg, and then sue you.
Me, too. It's nice on a summer night.
Very interesting thusfar. Haven't finished yet.

I'm thinking having them both be Military, but the "religious" admirer of O'Brien is actually a military in disguise, and she helps bust them out, and soon, in come the cavalry to sweep them away. I intend to have them spend a long time 'in the trenches' with the military group.
That sounds awesome. What do you think about the "on the planet," and "meanwhile, back on DS9" approach with your and my chapters?
xD Did you really?
It's a really interesting show. This is a 'prequel' to Battlestar Galactica, which I've mentioned to you god knows how many times. xD

That works nicely, I think. Very nicely indeed.
I think that works nicely. Have the Ops staff chatter about different issues, then murmur about how Amy and O'Brien have missed their check-in time, working up to going to get them. Maybe have Quark mention Amy, then have Bashir come back and be worried about Amy and O'Brien, since they're his two best friends on the station. Give him a reason to be involved with the rescue team. Who should that consist of? I was thinking that Sisko should go, maybe with Dax at the helm, leaving Kira and Holmes in Ops. That way we can keep the whole 'station; planet. Station; planet' thing going.
Yep, really. My room gets really hot, so...yeah. lol.
Ah, I was wondering what sort of motives you might have here XD. Interesting show thus far.
Well, I'm going to call it a night, I think. Another early morning tomorrow -_-' Can't wait until I'm done with those.

Glad you approve. :)
I think that works well. I intend to have Amy and Quark develop a fast friendship. And I was thinking that we could add in some Dan/Amy friendship development in the episodes preceding this, to give him ample reason to worry, and a kindred (sort of) spirit for Julian.
I'm surprised how nonchalant you are about telling me you sleep NAKED. xD
No motive, other than this was the episode that Amy and O'Brien's whole situation is inspired by.
Did you ever finish the ep? What did you think?

You should. I guarantee you'd get a nice, warm welcome. ;]
I have 2 drawings that I've finished, I've just been too lazy to scan them. One is the green lantern amy that i talked to you about, and the OC for my doctor who fic that I haven't written yet. I'm afraid to upload the green lantern one, because as cool as the rest of it is, I TOTALLY screwed up the face. xD It's awful, and I'm thinking of blurring it out. xD

Okay, okay, just being polite the best way I know how XD Besides making sure you finish, too. Wow, can't believe I typed that.
That's too bad. Any chance of fixing it, or are you going to trash the whole thing?
lol, don't do that! Seriously, I'm curious! I bet I could. Think of it this way: in my Voyager fic, he can't find his place. He'd jump at the chance to be assimilated after being so lonely and useless for four years. She's walking into something similar. That's how my mind worked it out, anyway.

xD That was very brave of you. I'm impressed.
I've already colored it. :( I'm going to put up a profuse apology at her horrible face, if I decide to upload it at all. I dunno.
Lol I don't think he's her type, though. She and the Doctor kind of have a thing, don't you think? How could you deprive the poor hologram of the only thing that brightens his photonic existence?

Thanks. I had to try really hard to type that XD
Meh just go for it. It'll still be awesome.
That's true, he's really not. Although he's not Dax's type either, if I'm honest with myself. As for the Doctor...well, that's true. Holmes would feel guilty about that. So I can see his end now:
Chakotay: Captain, the shuttle Shoemaker has left Voyager! It's Ensign Holmes!
Janeway: (stands up) Janeway to Holmes, respond!
Holmes: Sorry Captain, but we're done for if I don't do this. Besides, I've got nothing to lose. I'm the only one here with no job or strong ties...I hope you all make it home, for what it's worth. Holmes out.
Janeway: Harry, get him back! Transport-
(Shuttle flies into a Borg Cube, exploding. Holmes has transported inside and begun fighting so violently that he is killed rather than assimiliated).
sound about right?

lol, thanks! Although that sort of thinking led to the bravery to begin with XD
Lol, probably so. But seriously, I toyed with that, and having them encounter that Borg cube again to find Holmes alive and not assimilated, so that the Borg Queen could try to use him as a bargaining chip to get Seven back.
I don't see him finding romance on Voyager unless it's an OC. The only females left are the captain and Torres, and I don't think he's their types either. They certainly aren't his. Althogh maybe if Janeway was younger...
