speaking of anime, my classmate in english class was giving his report on Japanese culture (he was a white guy) and he was talking about anime and manga. But he pronounced them like "An-ih-may" and "Man-guh" not the correct pronunciation "Ah-nee-meh" and "Mahn-gah." He was saying "Anime and manga are very popular in japan, even though..." Everyone in the classroom but the teacher groaned and rolled their eyes. He was like "What??" And we all went "IT'S PRONOUNCED MAHNGAH!!!" He was like "So???"
