More icons. I finished book two. Maybe I'll start PoA; I have four hours to kill. We're going to a baseball game in Seattle tomorrow and don't get back til Sunday, so I'm gonna lose some sleep. I don't really want to go ... I kinda wish I could talk my mum into letting me stay home. I could take care of myself .. but I don't think she'd let me ... hehehe, I'd be just like Shadow. Or Phantom. Shadow takes care of himself just fine, thank you very much.
Explorer closed on me, but luckily I saved it to a wordpad first. Pwned the stupid internets. >:D

I JUST HAD A REVELATION. The scene at the end of every book features the current dada teacher. Book one, Quirrel was the one trying to steal the Philosopher's stone. Two, Lockhart went with Ron and Harry into the Chamber. Three, Lupin followen Harry and Hermione through the passage into the Whomping Willow, and turns into a werewolf. Fouth was Crouch!Moody, who bewitched the cup and later tried to kill Harry. In book five Umbridge caught them and was led afoul of the centaur herd by Hermione, and Six Snape kills Dumbledore. The current dada teacher is always instrumental to the plot in that climatic sequence at the end. Whoooh. Off to go finish CoS now ...
When next week will you be over?

I'm gonna do some. But first, I typed these in wordpad whilst reading the first two.
1. 'An intimate relationship is, of course, not constricted to lovers; he has an intimate relationship with Gwen, and Quinn.' I saw 'Quinn' and laughed.
2. 'He tends to be a bit of a loner because he doesn't have a whole lot of social skills. He's very nice, but he doesn't know how to start conversations with people or how to introduce himself. Once he knows someone he's fine, but he has difficulties in social situations.' We'd get along. xD
Umm ... Shruikan first. You know what? you chnged them all to 'she', and I'm kinda lazy right now. So let's just pretend it says 'he'.
Does she have a secret wish that she's told no one (and if so, what is it)?
He's not really the sort to have secret wishes. There were several times he felt he had to leave Astarael, and vice versa, and he sometimes regrets that this happened, but it's no secret.
If she could forget one thing that happened to her in the past, what and why?
There was one thing, which for the longest time he definately would have forgotten. Now he's mostly past it, and he knows that if it weren't for that thing he never would have met Astarael. So what he has now is worth a few terrifying memories.
If she could change one thing that she did, what and why?
Not following Astarael when he left with Phantom. He would likely only have gotten himself captured too, but he believes that there is still a chance he might have been able to fight off the people following those two, and at least take Astarael's place as the captured one.
If she could change one thing about her physical appearance, what would it be?
He's really quite happy with his apearance.
What one thing would she change about her personality, given the chance?
He wishes he were less attached to Astarael at times. He's very protective, and can be a lot like August in that respect.
What one skill does she most wish she had?
Maybe patience?
What does she think of intimate relationships?
The most wonderful thing ever.
What does she consider rude above all else?
People who don't heed others' requests. Couldn't get that to sound right, so for example: If he were to ask a person not to touch his wings, and they continued to do so anyway.
What does she think of revenge?
He doesn't care if the logic behind it makes no sense whatsoever. Often it has to do with conscience. But revenge is often hurtful to those who are close to its seeker.
Which of the challenges at the end of book one would she find the easiest (with his current abilities)?
The keys or the troll. Demons are natural hunters, which would make the keys easy, and they are also well-adapted to fighting enemies larger and stronger than themselves. A troll would be rediculously easy compared to a dragon.
Which would be the most terrifying?
Probably the Devil's Snare.
The hardest?
The chess game. He is overly protective, and while he could probably win if he were alone, if he had two good friends with him he would spend most of his time trying not to have them taken, which would make winning hard. (I almost said the potions, due to him not being that good with riddles and language and not being able to read, but then it occured to me that he could smell them, having a very keen sense of smell. The two that were identical would be the wine, and he is very good at sniffing out poison. The last two would be forwards and back. The back one was on the end, so all he would need was the clue, 'different are those who stand at either end, but if you would move onward, neither is your friend'. Yeah, maybe it's cheating, but it would work, so you can't complain.)
What position would she most like to play in Quidditch, assuming she had to pick one?
He would enjoy beater the most, and be very good at it, but he would probably be even better at seeker. See the flying keys one.
Which house would she most likely be in?
Gryffindor or Slytherin. He is very brave and prankstery and self-sacrificing, but he is also very cunning and an excellent liar. So he could go either way.
Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, or Drumstrang?
Hogwarts. Beauxbatons seems too ... you know (I think you used the term 'uppity' here), and Drumsrang too strict.
If he were a wizard, what might she do for a living?
I could see him being a quidditch player. He would be a good Auror too, but it would be too structured for him. Are there freelance aurors?
What muggle job would she have, of those that actually exist in the time Potter takes place?
Again, he'd probably go for sports. He's not the type to do serious work. And he would be essentially illiterate. (he knows demon, but that's not any good) Or something like a bodyguard, if it weren't so uppity. Or an actor.
What Harry Potter charactere is she most like?
I'd say Sirius Black. They are a lot alike. Also some Ron.
Nehh, Shadow. (I changed it back in this one! >:D)
Does he have a secret wish that he's told no one (and if so, what is it)?
Secretly, he wishes that he could just be normal. Not a genius, no inhuman powers, just a normal person with a normal family. But he also knows that if it were so, there wouldn't be any of him left.
If he could forget one thing that happened to her in the past, what and why?
He knows that every experience, however terrible, helps make you who you are, which he picked up from the Phantom. Before he met the Phantom, he would have chosen to forget all of his memories of the time he spent with another boy (the one he ended up stabbing in the foot) even though those were his only even remotely happy memories at the time. A person who has never known happiness cannot truly be miserable ..
If he could change one thing that he did, what and why?
Not doing more to save Light, even though there was nothing he could've done.
If he could change one thing about his physical appearance, what would it be?
Naah, he's fine with his appearance. Though sometimes he is a bit conscious about his scars.
What one thing would he change about his personality, given the chance?
He'd like to be more natural around people.
What one skill does he most wish he had?
Be better at physical fighting.
What does he think of intimate relationships?
In his experience, no good can come of them. He would get hurt, and if not, the other would. He wishes that he could have the positive kind that everyone else seems to.
What does he consider rude above all else?
People who prattle on and on about their problems, like they think you care.
What does he think of revenge?
It won't undo the past, so in the end there isn't a point.
Which of the challenges at the end of book one would he find the easiest (with his current abilities)?
Potions. And he wouldn't need to cheat like Shruikan did. He is very good at chess, too.
Which would be the most terrifying?
Probably the troll. It would probably step on him before it even saw him. And despite being strong for his size ...
The hardest?
The Troll, again, and for the same reasons.
What position would she most like to play in Quidditch, assuming she had to pick one?
Seeker.
Which house would he most likely be in?
Ravenclaw, most likely, but I could also see him in Gryffindor or Slytherin.
Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, or Drumstrang?
The mood of Drumstrang would suit him the best. Hogwarts would be better for him.
If he were a wizard, what might he do for a living?
I dunno about you, but I could totally see him being an unspeakable.
What muggle job would she have, of those that actually exist in the time Potter takes place?
He'd probably be a scientist, or something.
What Harry Potter charactere is he most like?
I can see some similarities with Lupin, a little Hermione, and maybe a little Draco?
Astarael
Does he have a secret wish that he's told no one (and if so, what is it)?
He has always wished he could fly. He is a little envious of Shruikan, and even more so of the Phantom.
If he could forget one thing that happened to him in the past, what and why?
He knows that every experience, however terrible, helps make you who you are, but he wouldn't mind forgetting the time he watched his teacher get killed.
If he could change one thing that he did, what and why?
He regrets that he wasn't there for the Phantom. There was nothing he could've done about that, though. He would probably change the way he'd treated Shruikan during that time. Shruikan really isn't bothered by it, he knows that it is past, but Astarael can't forget it.
If he could change one thing about his physical appearance, what would it be?
zhe's tall, even for an elf. He wishes he were just a little bit shorter.
What one thing would he change about his personality, given the chance?
He wishes he wasn't so protective of the Phantom, and that he could say something besides 'I'm sorry'.
What one skill does he most wish he had?
Be better at physical fighting. He fears not being able to protect people.
What does he think of intimate relationships?
They are very important.
What does he consider rude above all else?
He thinks that the little things are important. Listening and not interrupting people, saying please and thank you ... everyone has flaws, but everyone should at least be able to say such little things.
What does he think of revenge?
For a long time he thought it was stupid. But when he finally was the only one left (or so he thought), and believed he had nothing left to live for, he finally understood what it really meant.
Which of the challenges at the end of book one would he find the easiest (with his current abilities)?
Potions.
Which would be the most terrifying?
Chess, for the same reasons as August.
The hardest?
The Troll, because he isn't the best fighter ... and he would be better at the rest of them. (He would be good to a human like August, but compared to other elves he is mediocre at best, and that only because he tried so hard. Phantom could easily beat him in a fight.)
What position would he most like to play in Quidditch, assuming he had to pick one?
Seeker, probably.
Which house would he most likely be in?
Probably Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. I don't think I could see him as a Slytherin. Maybe Hufflepuff, though not likely.
Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, or Drumstrang?
Hogwarts. Though he has such nice hair he'd probably fit right in at Beauxbatons.
If he were a wizard, what might he do for a living?
I could see him working in a shop. Or St Mungo's. He would never work in one of the Ministry departments.
What muggle job would she have, of those that actually exist in the time Potter takes place?
A CAFE! HE WOULD TOTALLY OPEN A LITTLE CAFE!
What Harry Potter charactere is he most like?
A bit like Ron, and Luna I guess, and Lupin. His Boggart would be like Molly's. He's a bit like the Weasleys in general ...
What the hell, I'll do Phantom.
Does she have a secret wish that she's told no one (and if so, what is it)?
Not really.
If she could forget one thing that happened to her in the past, what and why?
Every experience, however terrible, helps make you who you are. The Phantom wouldn't want to forget anything, however horrible.
If she could change one thing that she did, what and why?
Phantom feels guilty that Astarael got himself imprisoned for thirteen years. It was due to the Phantom's existance that that happened.
If she could change one thing about her physical appearance, what would it be?
Like Astarael, the Phantom might wish to be a little shorter, but is really perfectly fine with being tall.
What one thing would she change about her personality, given the chance?
Less awkward around other people.
What one skill does she most wish she had?
Less self-blaming. (I know there's a word for that ...)
What does she think of intimate relationships?
Not worth the sacrifice on others' parts. A lot like Shadow that way ...
What does she consider rude above all else?
Ignorance. Xenophobia.
What does she think of revenge?
If everyone fought fire with fire, the whole world would go up in smoke.
Which of the challenges at the end of book one would she find the easiest (with his current abilities)?
Potions, and the Troll.
Which would be the most terrifying?
I don't think the Phantom would find any of them particularly terrifying. Devil's snare or the chess game.
The hardest?
see above.
What position would she most like to play in Quidditch, assuming she had to pick one?
Sekker. Maybe Beater.
Which house would she most likely be in?
Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. I can't see Phantom as a Hufflepuff.
Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, or Drumstrang?
As with Shadow, the Phantom would like the mood of Durmstrang, but could also go with Hogwarts.
If he were a wizard, what might she do for a living?
Probably similar to what they do in the Dept of Mysteries, but freelance.
What muggle job would she have, of those that actually exist in the time Potter takes place?
Some sort of private secret agent thing.
What Harry Potter charactere is she most like?
Phantom and Snape actually have a bit in common.

Well ... I forget the point of this comment ...
I wish you could sell all those damn bugs and flowers. And the tokens. It says they're 1g each, but i can't figure out how to sell. maybe you can't. i really wanna write. but yeah. I want a notebook for writing in, and i think we only have wide rule. i can use college or narrow rule, but i can't stand wide rule. makes me feel like a tree-killer, due to all that empty space.
There was something I did that I was kinda hoping you'd notice. But you didn't mention it, so I guess not. I wanna do more of these. They're for Shadow.
favourite flower?
Shadow's not that fond of flowers. He'd like something like Arya's mourning glories.
favourite flavour of gummy?
Shadow dislikes most candy. Gummies included.
favourite book?
Probably something like Strange and Norrell. Fiction that feels like a history. Lord of the Rings, too.
favourite manga?
Maybe Death Note. Depressing, with a 'darker' style.
favourite band?
Probably more into classical. Like the LotR soundtracks, or Mozart and stuff.
favourite metal?
Steel or iron. Something with a cold, hard feel to it.
parchment or paper?
Parchment.
cardboard boxes or plastic bags?
Am I the only one who could see Shadow hiding in a huge box?
shoes or bare feet?
In general he prefers bare feet, but due to his environments often finds himself in shoes.
big headphones or ear buds?
Headphones, the kind that block out all excess sound.
flip phone or unflippable phone?
I think I already answered these ones for him. Ahh, well. He would probably lose it, because he'd never answer it or call anyone.
favourite scent for a candle?
He prefers unscented. Scented candles are too distracting.
wooden chair or cushioned?
He doesn't like to be too comfortable.
black and white or colour photos?
Black and white.
new york city or paris?
Both would probably get too warm for him.
television or computer?
both make you obligated to come in contact with people. He would prefer neither.
city or country?
He used to live in a weird cross between Azkaban and a ghost town.
french or german?
German. Tends to find French too uppity, and German reminds him of demons.
lamps or candles?
Candles. Lamps just don't have the same mood.
favourite style of drawing?
Actually, he likes Shruikan's style of drawing. Also Phantom's.
favourite song?
Depressing stuff.
least favourite food?
He's not fond of sweets, but he tends not to notice what he eats. When he remembers to at all.
least favourite genre of music?

He doesn't like grapefruit that much.

Broccoli and potatoes and raw carrots. And those peas that you eat raw still in the pod.

if he could only live one day over and over the rest of his life, what would he do during it?
He'd like to have some time to himself in an extensive library. Hang out with Shruikan a bit, help out in Astarael's cafe. And have some time talking to or just sitting next to the Phantom on that thingy, like they were in the flashback panel in Star King. Phantom makes him feel better. More .. natural? Human? I dunno.
There's still time for a couple of chapitres of PoA ...
