lol, a rare honor indeed!Well, it's up now! Please let me know if you think it's offensive. Humor is good, to a point, but still, I might have toed the line a little...
Oh, the kid and his dad were on my team. My goalie, in fact, such as he was. Put simply, he sucked. You never want to say you hate a kid, but there was absolutly nothing likeable about him or his dad, nothing at all. My team could have won at least half their games if the kid had made an effort. I dealt with him by being encouraging, until the kid just started ignoring me. After that, we just kind of coexisted somehow.
If I was doing the coaching for my own benefit, I would have quit already. But I can put up with the abuse for the kid's sake. I'd rather they walked away with a good impression of hockey than hear/see all the politics they'd have to deal with if I wasn't the buffer between them and the clowns running the league.

Glad you liked 'em^^ W/o Ekyt, they take a lot more thought. The next ch is kind of an eyebrow raiser. Jiraiya takes Ekyt under his wing, and brings the straight-as-an-arrow kid to an establishment that he (And myself), er, wouldn't frequent. It's borderline crude, but it's too funny to pass up. If I can crack myself up, it automatically goes in the fic.Yeah, I coach. See, when I was playing, I had the absolute worst coachs. So, now I do my best to make sure that at least SOME kids get the right introduction into hockey. That means I don't yell at refs (much), everyone plays equally (This cost us wins, but it was better for the kids), and it also means that if the kids are being screwed with, so am I. I told one father that I had my bench covered after seeing the he treated his own kid. Both he and the kid were rotten to deal with. The little monster had the worst attitude I've ever seen.
But, aggravation and an incredible win-loss recod of 2-22, it's all worth it. I've had kids tell me that I'm the best coach in the world, and damned if that doesn't make it worth while.
