So I'm new to this site and was looking around and saw your work and I gotta say wow really nice stuff and really awesome job on the coloring. I'm starting to get into wanting to color some of my newer art work because the graphite type pictures I ussually work with are starting to get a little plain. So if you got any tips or what programs you used I'd very much appreciate it oh and I'm guessing you use a tablet to draw cause I just got one and still toying around with it and it's pretty tough to master so far heh.

hey thanks for the fave, yeah i have a drawing tablet but i really dont use it because its not really accurate. it does take a lot of time to get use to it. i personally prefer to draw whatever on white printer paper and then scan it. once its scanned, i open up photoshop and do the outlines of the drawing on a different layer. mastering the pen tool is a must tho. its not really hard i actually learned how to do it from watching youtube videos. also theres a lot of tutorial online that can go it detail. just look around. has for tips,
1. use light blue colors to outline your art work on photoshop so u can tell the differences between the line art and the actual drawing itself. afterwards go to saturation/hue and change the color back to black.
2. master the pen tool.!! photoshop pen tool is great however the best program for the pen tool is painter.
3. master the layers Function! (use different layers for different body parts so you can go back and change the color without redoing the whole drawing.
4.always do the basic colors before doing any details, and its a good idea to give the detail parts there own layer as well.
5. well filling in the basic colors of your artwork, open a new layer and fill it with anycolor u dont intend to use in the artwork. with this u can see if u missing any parts of your artwork when filling.(there alway parts missing colors)
6.FINAL TIP depending of what size brush tool u use to do your line art, go to select> expand> and do one size lower than the lineart size. here an example....i use brush size 3 (brush size and brush pixel are the same thing btw) to do my actual line art. once ive decided fill a specific part with color using the magic wand tool to select. i go to select>expand> and change the pixel to 2. then i make a new layer and click fill. Notice always keep your line art layer above your colored layers otherwise it will cover up the actual lineart. i hope this helps!
