Teen 3: My dad says you went crazy. Did you go crazy, Lieutenant Gatzsky? D:

Sam: Haha, NO... there were just a few internal problems.

Teen 2: Did you ever have to kill anyone?

Sam: Yep. It was an unfortunate situation, but yep. I normally try just getting people into prison, but sometimes they like to resist arrest.

Teens: Cooooool!

Sarah: *grins. they were acting like he was some kind of superhero. then again, he might as well be one* :)

Mitch: You're really tall in person. D:

Sam: I'm really tall all the time. :P

Teen 2: Excuse me, but where did you get that scar? D:

Sam: I was stabbed.

Teens: COOOOOOOOOOLLLL...!

Teen 4: Oh, oh, um, who's she? *points back at Sarah*

Sarah: !

Sam: My fiance, Sarah. :)

Mitch: YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED??

Sam: Yep. :P

Teen 3: But you're so old. D:

Teen 2: *smacks Teen 3* D:<

Teen 4: Don't say stuff like that, Kev! Not cool. D:

Sarah: *laughs a little at this--she remembers when she was like that*

Kevin: Sorry, Lieutenant Gatzsky. D8

Sam: Hey, it's alright. I've been called lots of names, and "old"'s a new one. :P

Mitch: DX

Teen 3: <:P

Sarah: *wades over towards them* I hope you aren't saying anything bad about the Lieutenant... :P

Teen 4: !! N-Nope! No we aren't. D:

Teen 3: Just that he's OLD, KEVIN.

Kevin: I SAID I WAS SORRY! DX

Sam: Hey, it's alright! Seriously, it's okay! <:P

Mitch: *to Sarah* Uh h-hiya. ^^;

Sarah: Hi. ^^ No need to be so nervous. :P

Mitch: Omigosh what's it like to be the Lieutenant's girlfriend?

Teenager 3: Is it different??

Kevin: I bet it's different.

Sam: ^^;

Sarah: It's a little different, yeah... But it doesn't really matter. ^^

Teen 4: Oh?

Sam: Well, I'm glad about that. ^^;

Kevin: Why doesn't it matter?

Mitch: Don't ask them THAT! D;

Teen 4: Yeah, stop being so nosy! D;

Sarah: It's fine, don't worry about it. ^^ As cheesy at it may sound, we'd still love each other the same way, even if he wasn't the Lieutenant. That's why it doesn't matter.

Sam: *whispering to Kevin* Or she just wants me because I'm powerful. ;D

Teens: *laugh at this*

Sarah: *sticks her tongue out at him* Har har. If I recall correctly, you asked ME. :P

Teen 4: *snickers*

Sam: ... And I did while shaking so bad I nearly dropped the ring. How embarrassing. :P

Mitch: Wait - you can take down criminals and stuff without any problems, but proposing to her SCARES you? D:/

Sam: Well, it's... WAY different. XP

Teens: *snicker*

Sarah: He's telling the truth, you know. It'd a lot harder than you'd think.

Teen 4: Riiight...

Sarah: No, really. It's a million times harder than just asking someone out.

Sam: I thought she'd say no. D:

Mitch: Why? D:

Sam: Uhh... that's not something I'm gonna share, okay? .__.;

Teens: Aww! D:

Sarah: *recalls why, and smiles sadly* It's a private thing, sorry.

Teen 4: Aww well... *tries to think of something else to ask* So umm... why are you guys here?

Sarah: *is pleased with the topic change, and smiles gratefully* Do we have to have a reason? :P

Sam: And so was I. :P In other news, this heated water is nice and all, but it'll be freezing when we get out of the pool. D:

Sarah: That's exactly why I brought extra clothes. And we can just grab towels and dry off quickly... :P

Sam: Smart plan. :P *he swims over to her* So this'll be fun.

Sarah: Oh yes it will. :3 *takes a deep breath, then goes under*

Sam: *he does the same, going underwater after her. He waves to her* :P

Sarah: *waves back, grinning* X)

Sam: *continues to wave at her until he has to come back up for air* Phwah! Heheh...

Sarah: *comes up to the surface a moment after him, her hair stuck to her face* Heh. ^^

Sam: *moves Sarah's hair out of her face* There we go. :P This is pretty relaxing.

Sarah: Mhmm. :) You're having lots of lovely ideas today. X)

Sam: *smiles a little* I don't think they realize I'm also a human being. XP

Sarah: *puts her arms around his waist* I don't think they realize he's getting married, either. <3 *lightly kisses him* <33

Sam: Kids these days... *he laughs at this*

Sarah: *grins* Wonder how they'd react if you talked to them?

Sam: *eyes her* I dunno, let's go find out. ;P *wades over to the teenagers*

Teens: *whispering excitedly claiming that they will tell all their other friends and post it on facebook and text everyone and whatever else*

Sam: *walks over behind them* Hey there.

Teens: *they turn to see who's talking to them, and when they see, they all gawk in excitement*

Sarah: *snorts, putting a hand over her mouth to contain her amused snickers* pffft...

Sam: Is seeing the Lieutenant at the pool really that shocking? XP

Teen 1: *is a somewhat short squat boy* Uh, w-well... it's just... it's weird...

Sam: Like seeing the president here?

Teen 1: Yeah, 'cept we don't have presidents anymore.

Teen 2: I think he already KNOWS THAT, Mitch!

Sarah: *amused, she continues to watch*

Sam: *he leans in, resting his head on top of Sarah's. He rubs her arms with his hands, which still held onto her, hugging her. He watches the children play in the distance*

Sarah: *sighs happily, eyes still closed. she nuzzles Sam, listening to the birds sing above her*

Sam: *he snuggles against Sarah, loving every minute there with her. He too listens to the birds, and all that stress about his father being sick and Celine out of jail leaves him*

Sarah: *sits there with Sam for what seems like hours, simply enjoying his company. Her father had been right--he was more than enough. she could stay there all day, but unfortunately, it was getting a bit breezier out and she was starting to feel the cold. she leans her head back to kiss his cheek* Hey... I think we should get moving. It's getting windier.

Sam: ... Good idea... you know, we could always go to the local pool. It's indoors. Heated. Sounds nice to you?

Sarah: Sounds very nice, actually. *stands up, and offers a hand to Sam* :)

Sam: *takes Sarah's hand and uses it to help stand himself back up* Alright - let's go back to the apartment to change, then. ^^

*and so they go...*

In The Apartment

Sam: *changes in the bathroom, getting into a pair of swimming trunks. He puts an oversized t-shirt over it so he doesn't have to be topless on the way to the pool*

Sarah: *has already changed, and has a hoodie and sweatpants on over her own bathing suit* Ready to go?

Sam: *steps out of the bathroom* yup. Let's go. :)

*and so they do, onto the pool*

At The Pool

Sam: *enters the place with Sarah*

*the echoing sounds of children running around, the pitter-pattering of puddles under their feet sounding off like an applause of thousands of people. A few people in the water splashes each other until the lifeguard catches them and whistles at them to cut it out*

Sarah: *claims one of the pool chairs so they could put their stuff on it, and takes off her outer clothing, dropping it on the chair. she then looks out over the pool, trying to see if there was a spot she could dive in from*

Sam: *he takes off his shirt, putting it aside like Sarah. He looks over Sarah's body, admiring it* ... You know, you look pretty damn good in a bathing suit.

Sarah: *grins over at him, looking him up and down* I could say the same for you. ;)

Sam: *grins at her* Well thank you. :P So... into the pool we go? Or do you want to just relax here a bit first?

Sarah: *her grin turns into a smirk* Pool first. :3 *heads off in the direction of the pool, where the water was deepest, and dives in, her head bobbing up to the surface a few meters away* :D

Sam: *applauds her, then walks over and steps in* I'm afraid to dive - I'm too tall for my own good. XD;

Sarah: *snickers, and swims over* Maybe you should stop being so tall, then. :P

Sam: Sure, I'll just get a hand saw and saw off my legs. All my problems are solved! XP

Sarah: *razzes him* It was a joke, gosh. XP

Sam: *he uses his thumbs to massage the backs of Sarah's hands, enjoying her warmth, her company*

Sarah: *is quite comfortable there--she could sit there with Sam for hours. She hums a nameless, happy tune*

Sam: *with a grin, he decides to whistle along with Sarah's humming, joining her tune*

Sarah: *laughs a little bit, and continues, making her own little harmony with Sam*

A Bird: *starts singing in the tree above them, vaguely following their tune*

Sarah: ??? *looks up at the branches, and laughs*

Sam: *he laughs a little as well, then continues on whistling the random tune, now following the bird a bit more*

Bird: *continues to sing somewhere up in the tree*

Sarah: *listens, looking up in the tree, trying to find the source of the song*

Sam: *continues to whistle along with it, having fun*

Bird: *eventually hops down to a lower branch, as if it was curious to see its singing partner. it is a blue bird with a reddish stomach, and it keeps singing as it inspects the two beings sitting at the bottom of its tree*

Sarah: :D! *watches the bird--she hadn't seen one of those before*

Sam: *his smile grows wider, especially when he sees Sarah get excited by the appearance of the bird. He keeps whistling*

Bird: *whistles back, seemingly not minding the odd appearance of this other singer. it flutters down to the ground, still keeping its distance*

Sarah: ! *keeps quiet and very still, not wanting to frighten the bird away* :)

Sam: *can't help but feel like he's been suddenly transported into a Disney movie. He continues to sing*

Bird: *slowly hops closer, responding in turn*

Sarah: *watches it in wonder, her thoughts taking a similar route as Sam's*

Sam: *finds it interesting to see the bird get closer than normal to him. He keeps up the whistling, feeling rather peaceful and happy*

Sarah: *watches. she looks up when she hears a third voice join in, and she sees another bird drop from the tree*

Other bird: *is a bit more lightly colored than the first. more interested in the first bird than in the humans, singing a different tune to it*

Bird: *picks up the second bird's tune, then takes off towards the tree*

Other bird: *joins it, and they both disappear into the tree, singing their new tune happily*

Sarah: *is amazed by this--she looks back at Sam, her excitement obvious in her grin* Sam, I think you're a bird whisperer.

Sam: *he can't help but laugh at the absurdity of Sarah's statement* Hahaha! Sure, and I can tell you their thoughts and feelings and everything... XD But yeah, that was pretty cool. :P

Sarah: *lays her head back against Sam's shoulder with a happy sigh* SO glad you decided to come here.

Sam: Well, I'm happy you're happy, and I'm happy we came here, too. It was just the perfect day to go out, huh? :)

Sarah: *closes her eyes, smiling* Mmmhmm... <3

Sam: *his smile widens from this, as he's happy to lift Sarah's mood a bit. He follows her out and they walk to the park. Then they walk through it*

Birds: *Indeed, they chirp to greet the morning*

Sarah: *smiles at this--the weather was almost perfect* ... *hooks her arm with Sam's as they walk*

Sam: *links arms with Sarah, walking with her and enjoying the good weather*

Children: *are running around and playing in the park*

Sarah: *watches them for a few moment. a brief thought crosses her mind, and she smiles a bit more widely* Do you think we'll ever have kids, Sam?

Sam: *this alone nearly causes him to trip over his own feet, as it has thrown him off-guard, but he quickly regains balance (he wouldn't want to take Sarah down with him, would he?)* K-Kids? I-I guess... uh... it's a little early to be thinking about something like that, though. .___.;

Sarah: *has to stop herself from laughing as she helps steady him* I was just wondering... I didn't say we had to deal with that right now... XD;;

Sam: Aha. Ahaha. Silly me. ^^;;; Uh... I guess we could have kids at some point, yeah. It would be nice. :)

Sarah: It would... maybe after things slow down...

Sam: Hoo... woah... SLOWING DOWN? I don't think my job'll be able to... well... well, you're job's more flexible... so... okay...

Sarah: <:/ ... I need to see if there are any productions coming up soon... I feel kind of lazy sitting in my apartment...

Sam: Well, I understand. For now you could probably help in my office. Take Celine's job. Whatever you want. At least until you find some work to do. ^^

Sarah: I appreciate the offer, thanks. ^^

Sam: *he smiles at her, then watches the children play in the park once more as they walk*

Sarah: *spots a large, shady tree on the path a bit ahead of them, and grins* Hey, you wanna take a break under there?

Sam: *he also grins when he sees the tree* Hell yeah - we've been walking long enough for a break.

Sarah: *grins, and pulls Sam over to the tree* ^^

Sam: *lets himself get pulled over to the tree, laying against it with Sarah, smiling at her*

Sarah: :) *sits in front of him, between his legs, laying back against his chest* X)

Sam: *smiling warmly at her, he wraps his arms around her, snuggling against her from behind* <3

Sarah: *puts her hands over his and rests her head back against his shoulder, closing her eyes* <33

Sam: Oh shoot - REALLY? D:> God DAMN it, now I have to start a new batch. XC

Sarah: *laughs a little bit at this* At least they didn't catch fire... DX

Sam: Well yeah, that's a good thing, but I was gonna make you pancakes because you really seemed like you could use some pancakes and GUUHH now you need to wait longer. Hang on, I'll go... make some more, I guess. <:/ *he gets up and walks out into the kitchen*

Sarah: *smiles a bit. he's trying so hard to make her happy... Todd was right. she leaves the bedroom, going over to the kitchen* Hey, you gonna let me help you?

Sam: Nope. You're not going to be doing any labor of any kinda today, even if that means helping me make your pancakes. *he's quite determined to make his statement stay a reality* >:/ ...

Sarah: *can tell he's serious about this* Um... okay. <:/

Sam: *he makes the batter and pours it our a few times on the pan once more, turning the stove back on and beginning to cook them. He begins to whistle his random made-up tune once more*

Sarah: *leans back against the counter, waiting for Sam to finish* ...

Sam: *he manages to finish, this time NOT burning the pancakes. Taking out a plate, he piles two on top of each other, putting them on the table in front of Sarah. The one left he saves for himself, not having eaten breakfast yet. Putting his plate down across from Sarah's, he goes and gets some syrup, also putting it down on the table. He then sits down* :)

Sarah: *sits down across from Sam* They smell good... Oh. *notices the uneven number of pancakes--she proceeds to cut one in half, and spears it in the end of her fork, holding it out to Sam* here. :)

Sam: Oh - *he smiles a little at Sarah, then takes the pancake half, putting it on his plate* Thanks. :P

Sarah: Now we're even. :P *takes the syrup bottle and pours it all over the pancakes, then proceeds to eat them* mmm... <3

Sam: *pours some syrup on his pancakes* I'm glad you like them. I'm not exactly a cook, but I'm more competent in the kitchen than my dad... <:P *he eats his pancakes*

Sarah: *laughs a bit at this* Oh really? I think I remember you saying something about that a whiiile ago... XD;;

Sam: Yup, a long, LONG time ago. :P *he soon finishes up his pancakes, washing off the dish in the sink and placing it in the dishwasher* So are you okay with walking in the park, or...?

Sarah: *finishes soon after him, and follows him into the kitchen to put her own plate away* Yeah, sure, why not? It's getting a bit nicer out...

Sam: Perfect! And since we're going in the morning, I'm sure the birds will be chirping quite a bit when we get there. It'll be really nice. :)

Sarah: I'm really rather looking forward to this... come on, let's just go. :D

Sam: Alright! *he heads over to the door, opening it for Sarah* :)

Sarah: *goes out the door, giving him a significantly cheerier "thank you" on the way out*

Sam: *groggily wakes up, looking at Sarah with a rather dazed expression* Mmf... s'weird dream...

Sarah: oh? What was it? <:/

Sam: ... I was making you pancakes... s'weird because it's a very normal thing... but it was a dream... who dreams about making PANCAKES?

Sarah: Well, um... It wasn't really a dream...

Sam: Then... then wait... how am I here? D:/

Sarah: Um... dad needed to borrow your body for a bit... >__>

Sam: HOLY shoot - H-HE POSSESSED ME?? MR. HUNTINGS POSSESSED - OH MY GOD - OH MY GOD! P-POSSESSED ME AGAIN!! WHY DID HE - ?? DDDD8>

Sarah: SAM--Sam, calm down!! He just wanted to talk to me... he didn't do anything to you...

Sam: Unnhhngh... that's so weird, though... what did he want to talk to you about? D:

Sarah: ...He was asking me why I was still mourning him when I had you now...

Sam: ... What a... really weird question... why would he ask you that? D:>

Sarah: ...Because I still miss him... H-He's leaving after the wedding...

Sam: He actually admitted it? ... I'm sorry, Sarah... D:>

Sarah: Don't apologize... I asked him, anyway... I just need to get over it.

Sam: <:( ... you CAN get over this, Sarah... I know you can - you're strong enough, after all.

Sarah: *nods* right... Oh, um... the pancakes burned...

Todd: *he walks into Sam, disappearing*

Sam: *nearly drops the spatula - he manages to put it aside, then turns to Sarah - he looks dazed, asleep. Not at all there. When he speaks, his voice drones a bit* Sarah... you're willing to spend the rest of your life with Sam... aren't you? So why would you need me to stick around?

Sarah: *blinks in surprise, not expecting him to ask something like that at all* Y-You're my dad... why wouldn't I want you around...?

Sam: ... Because... you're a grown woman... I would have eventually died anyway... but now... now you finally have someone else... *his mouth cracks into a grin* Someone to love you... and support you... and STAY... someone who will STAY with you... and I'm sure you'll stay with HIM... *he carefully steps forward, his steps an uneven shuffle across the floor. He takes Sarah by the shoulders, looking at her with that grin on his face, then pulls her into a hug*

Sarah: *hugs him back tightly, burying her face in his shoulder, trying to suppress tears* Th-That doesn't mean I won't miss you...

Sam: ... I know, Kiddo... and I'll miss you too... but this is why I didn't want you to find out I'm leaving when you finally get married... it might make you NOT want to get married...

Sarah: ...I wasn't going to leave Sam because of that... I just... I wanted to know. So I could be ready for it.

Sam: ... Don't worry. You'll be ready for it. I was much much younger than you when my father was taken from me... and I was only twenty-two when I lost my mother... you can handle one little goodbye, can't you? Well... not a LITTLE goodbye, but... you know what I mean...

Sarah: *sniffles, and smiles at him* I think I can handle it.

Sam: ... Good... now... Sarah... I'm going to give you something. A memory. A memory of something that you were never a part of, but... still somewhat inspirational... but first I'm going to get out of Sam. I'm gonna make him black out so you can have some... privacy. So... hold on... *he wanders over to the bedroom, all the while muttering* ... made her pancakes... heheh...

Sarah: *waits for him somewhat impatiently, now extremely curious* ...

Sam: *lies down on the bed*

Todd: *gets out of Sam*

Sam: *blacks out, not really understanding what happened*

Todd: *walks over to Sarah* ... I need to possess you...

Sarah: Oh..! Um... alright. Go ahead.

Todd: *he steps forward, entering her, taking her over, and letting her remember a memory that never happened to her - Todd and Key's first kiss. More specifically Harry dragging his father's dead body out, then entering the office, leaving Todd and Key alone. Todd and Key comforting each other. Discussing Harry's sanity. Comforting each other even more... then kissing. Kissing, and the warm, wonderful feeling that came with it the first time it happened. Breaking the kiss, and the moment of relief that had personally washed over Todd when he finally knew for sure that Key felt the same way about him that he feels about her. That entire memory, he gives to Sarah. To ponder over. To draw inspiration from it. To show her that as long as there was Sam there to help her, she CAN get over Todd's death*

Sarah: *feels like an intruder, watching this private moment... but she understands what her father was trying to tell her... at least, she thinks she does*

Todd: *he then steps out of Sarah, only to find that the pancakes are burning - quickly, he takes the pan off the hot part of the stove, onto a more cool part*

meanwhile

Sam: *still passed out on the bed*

Sarah: *stands there in a bit of a shock for a moment, then suddenly realizes what's going on in the kitchen--she runs in and switches on the stove fan, hoping the smoke wouldn't set off the fire alarm, then goes to crack open a window, just in case* XC

Todd: *he disappears*

In The Bedroom

Sam: *still passed out*

Sarah: ... <:/ *goes back into the kitchen, and tosses out the ruined pancakes. she then goes into the bedroom, and sits down on the edge of the bed, lightly shaking Sam* Sam... Sam...?

Sam: *he gets his coat and hat, putting them on - better safe than sorry, after all. He looks over at Sarah and notices her somewhat down expression* ... ... Sarah... <:(

Sarah: *finishes getting dressed, and looks back at him over his shoulder as she puts her coat on* Yeah?

Sam: *he speaks to Sarah in a completely sincere tone* ... Are you going to be okay? <:(

Sarah: Yeah... yeah, I'll be fine.

Sam: ... Maybe a walk in the park'll be good for you... <:(

Sarah: *nods* I just need some fresh air. Been cooped up in a hospital for too long.

Sam: Alright... you go get ready then - I'll get you some breakfast or something. <:/

Sarah: *nods* ...okay... <:/

Sam: *he smiles reassuringly at Sarah, then goes into the kitchen. He decides it would be a good idea to make Sarah pancakes (living alone forced Sam to learn to cook for himself). Perhaps it could cheer her up a little. He begins making them, the batter sizzling in the pan*

SarH: *waits for Sam to leave, then speaks quietly* ...Dad... are you really leaving after the wedding...?

Presence: *is there and can be felt, but there is no answer*

Sam: *whistles to himself a tune that he makes up as he makes the pancakes*

Sarah: ...please... talk to me...

Todd: *he appears in front of Sarah, gently touching her shoulder and giving her a sad smile* ...

meanwhile

Sam: *makes pancakes*

Sarah: *stares at him, a sadness in her eyes--she looks at him as if she was nine again, and she had just been told she would never see him again* ...

Todd: *his sad smile turns into a frown. He whispers to her* ... I have... to move on... and you have... to move on...

meanwhile

Sam: *cooking pancaaakes ~*

Sarah: ... I-I know.... It's just... it's hard.

Todd: ... ... Follow me... *he walks out of the bedroom into the kitchen*

Sam: *almost ready with the pancakes, still whistling his tune - he doesn't see Todd*

Sarah: ...?? *follows Todd out* ...

Sam: Would she? It seems like she misses him as much as you do...

Sarah: I don't doubt that she does... She just won't be as used to him still being around as I am. She'd... I'm pretty sure that she'd rather have him alive again... *sighs* That would be nice, wouldn't it...?

Sam: I guess so, yeah... <:( *tries to stray the topic away from Mr. Hunting's death, and more towards the ghost - a subject that won't make Sarah as sad, he figures* ... So... ghosts... isn't there, like, a reason for them to exist? Like... "unfinished business" or whatever? What do you think your dad's unfinished business is?

Sarah: I'm not exactly sure... I'm pretty sure he knows something we don't... Maybe he's just waiting for something... see, now I'm curious, i kind of wanna ask him about it now...

Sam: ... Do you think he'll tell you? Is he even ALLOWED to tell you?

Sarah: I have no clue... he um... he DID warn me about you, though... He's the reason I found you in the snow a month or so ago...

Sam: Wait - warned - ? How did he WARN you? How did he even KNOW?

Sarah: He showed up in my dream and told me... next morning, I go out and I find you there. I don't know how he knew, maybe he saw it happen somehow, but... He didn't want you to die.

Sam: ... So... either he really likes me... or his unfinished business thing involves us. Or both.

Sarah: Preferably both... Hm... OH! Oh. What if... what if he's waiting for the wedding...? It's the only thing I can think of... that involves the two of us, I mean...

Sam: ... So... so yeah, that makes sense... but then... what happens AFTER the wedding? Will he... leave?

Sarah: *hadn't really though about that, but now that she does... she wasn't quite sure she liked the idea* ...I... I guess he WOULD leave...

Presence: *gives off a warm, comforting feeling around Sarah*

Sam: ... Sarah... maybe he just wants to see you grow up... grow up, and move on without him... <:(

Sarah: *feels the warmth, and closes her eyes* ...You're probably right...

Sam: ... It's for the best. <:(

Presence: *continues to allow Sarah to feel its warmth*

Sarah: *nods, enjoying the warmth while it lasts. it's true, she was going to miss her father after he departs permanently, but... it WAS for the best...*

Sam: ... You wanna go out and do something? <:(

Sarah: ...Sure... *gets out of bed, and goes to grab something to wear, her mood brought down significantly*
