Sam: *He looks all over the city, EVERYWHERE and manages to come up with three potential hiding spots. Three*

meanwhile

Blood Puppet: *He sneaks into the house while Sarah is upstairs. He keeps his katana sheathed for once, which is odd, even for him*

Sarah: *peeks into the room and sees that both kids are, miraculously, still asleep. she heads downstairs, then freezes at the foot of the stairs when she spots her uninvited guest, wide-eyed in fear*

Blood Puppet: *Raises his hands defensively* ... Don't be alarmed. I just want to talk to someone right now. Anyone, really. *Everything about him seems sad. How he stands, how he speaks, how it's easy to tell, even with him in a mask, that he's avoiding eye contact with Sarah*

Sarah: *notices the odd change, but she still finds it difficult to relax, what with a known serial killer standing ten feet away from her. She doesn't move, keeping herself between him and the only way to get to her kids, never taking her eyes off him* ...Why?

Blood Puppet: ... I feel alone... H... Here. *He takes his katana from his belt and throws it aside with a heavy "thump" against the carpet* ... I'm not going to hurt you. You or your children. I'd like a temporary truce.

Sarah: *glances at the katana, but doesn't move otherwise* What reason do I have to trust you?

Blood Puppet: ... You don't. *He kicks his katana away, hoping to make the situation better* ... I just thought this could be nice.

Sarah: *still not moving* ...So after ALL you've done... you break into my house... and expect me to just sit down and CHAT?

Blood Puppet: ... I only ask for a little comfort... PLEASE...

Sarah: *is silent for a while, looking him over for a bit, then she finally answers him* ...Fine... what did you want to talk about?

Blood Puppet: *He freezes for a moment, surprised by Sarah's words* ... I-I... Uh... A-anything, really... a... PLEASANT topic... *Quietly* ... The weather's nice....

Sarah: *is still very tense, her voice a bit strained* ...Yes, it is. It's been sunny out lately.

Blood Puppet: ... I never got to enjoy the sun when I was a child. Mainly because I hadn't figured out yet how to sneak away from my parents. I had one window in my room that only shone a few cracks of light, and a single, broken lamp. Sunlight became something I cherished, for its warmth, but feared for how easily it could give away my hiding spot. My parents were abusive, you see.

Sarah: *wasn't really expecting that at all--for a moment, she's confused, and doesn't really know how to respond, but she quickly puts her guard back up* ...I'm sorry to hear that.

Blood Puppet: ... That's alright. I was simply reminiscing. You don't have to apologize. *He sits down on the ground and takes off his hat out of politeness, though his mask still hides his entire head* ... I always envied those children, though... Those children who still had their innocence... The ones with good parents. Sometimes I believed I had bad parents because I was a bad kid. Like I was being PUNISHED... Isn't that a silly thing to think?

Sarah: *is still very hesitant to move from her spot on the stairs* ...A bit, yeah.

Sam: *He groggily comes to after a while* ...? *Sam gives Sarah a pleasant smile, kissing her lips lightly* Morning...

Sarah: *smiles back at him* mmmmorning. *nuzzles him affectionately*

Sam: *Nuzzles back* I gotta get to the Outpost... You take good care of the kids, alright?

Sarah: Of course. <:P You just make sure you take care of yourself, too.

Sam: Well, you know me. <:P *He starts getting ready* Time to go on another thug-hunt.

Sarah: *sits up and stretches* Don't have TOO much fun. :P

Sam: *gives her a mischievous grin* Trust me, I WILL. ;P

Sarah: *sighs, but grins back at him* Oh, why am I not surprised?

Sam: *puts on his coat and hat* Because I'm the Lieutenant, that's why. >:P

Sarah: Oh, I know, I know. :P Kick some mobster @$$ for me, okay?

Sam: I will dedicated each punch to you. And every bullet from my guns. ;D

Sarah: *her grin grows* Lovely.

Sam: Well, I think so. ;D ... Anyway, have a good day. :D

Sarah: You too. :)

Sam: *He nods to her and leaves, checking into the outpost then quickly leaving to find any clues for the whereabouts of the mafia gang*

Sarah: *gets up and gets dressed, staying comfortable (don't have to go anywhere anyway). it was strange, having to slow herself down for so long, but now, she didn't really mind the calm. she leaves the room to go check on the kids*

Sam: Nothing lasts forever, but that's why we enjoy it while we can. <:)

Sarah: Eyup... *sighs, and nuzzles her face into his shoulder*

Sam: *He holds her there until he falls asleep*

Sarah: *falls asleep there in his arms*

Meanwhile

Blood Puppet: *In his own dentist chair, losing what sanity he had left, he thinks back to his meeting with Mia, and remembers how they met, with her rescuing him from an unfortunately times horde. They truly got along, didn't they? His feelings for her had become strong with their time together, and one could even describe their relationship as... romantic. If not a little lustful. She was the first he ever thought about when he was cured. Seeing her again. But his own anger about how he got infected (with her having to leave him) and his fear of how she'd react to his deformation prevented him from ever seeing her until his recent visit. He regrets not going to her sooner. Maybe... She could have helped him. Like no one else could*

Annabelle: *enters the room quietly, hands clasped behind her back, not sure whether her father wanted her there or not* ...

Blood Puppet: *He barely even notices Annabelle there. He takes off his mask and turns it around to stare at it. The mask that became his face, as he became Blood Puppet* ...

Annabelle: *steps a little closer, but remains silent* ...

Blood Puppet: *He lets the hand holding the mask fall to the side of the chair, and he clumsily drops the thing onto the ground. Blood Puppet doesn't care. He holds his head in his hand. Yes, he is a monster. No question about it. What hurts, however, was how long he's had to embrace such a title* ...

Annabelle: *finally speaksu up, mostly out of concern* ...Dad?

Blood Puppet: *He doesn't move, doesn't look at her, and when he answers Annabelle, there's a pathetic lack of energy in his voice* ... Yes, Annabelle?

Annabelle: ... *approaches the chair, worry etched into her face* ...do you want me to get you something?

Blood Puppet: *After a long silence* ... I'll be fine...

Annabelle: ...Are you sure? <:(

Blood Puppet: ... I'm sure, Annabelle. Go practice your parkour or something.

Annabelle: ...Okay. *turns away, and walks out slowly, half-hoping he'd call her back--he hadn't been the same since... since Celine...*

Meanwhile, The Next Morning

Sam: *Asleep and snuggled up against Sarah*

Sarah: *half-awake, content to lay there snuggled against Sam*

Sam: *He gently places Emma in her crib, looking at her for a while* <:)

Sarah: *joins him, taking his arm and leaning her head against his shoulder* <:)

Sam: *He rests his head on top of hers, putting his other arm around her waist*

Sarah: *sighs contentedly, and speaks quietly* Can it get any better than this?

Sam: Heh... I don't think so... Come on, let's go to bed... *He walks with her to their room*

Sarah: *gets into bed, already ready to do so*

Sam: *He gets ready for bed, then crawls in with Sarah*

Sarah: *snuggles right up to him, nuzzling into his chest* <3

Sam: *He hugs her tightly, kissing her* <3

Sarah: *kisses him back, moving a hand up to his cheek and stroking it with her thumb* <3

Sam: ... <3 *places his hand over hers* I love you, Sarah...

Sarah: *touches her nose to his* I love you too... <3

Sam: *He leans in and kisses her, stroking her hair*

Sarah: *kisses her, moving her hand around to the back of his head, combing her fingers through his hair*

Sam: This is all so perfect... X3

Sarah: I know... *laughs a bit* god, I hope it lasts...

Sam: *he creeps back downstairs after a while of looking at Lance*

Sarah: *is rocking a half-asleep Emma, smiling down at her warmly*

Sam: *he watches this from the bottom of the stairs, a small smile on his face*

Sarah: *leans down to kiss the girl's head. she notices Sam at the stairs, and her smile widens*

Sam: *He smiles back at Sarah, his eyes glimmering with joy*

Sarah: *approaches him, glancing down at Emma as if to ask him if he wants to hold her* :)

Sam: *With a grin he opens his arms to take Emma from Sarah*

Sarah: *gently hands the baby girl over* :)

Sam: *Holds Emma with much love and affection* <:)

Emma: *nuzzles into her father's chest, meekly grasping at his shirt*

Sarah: <:) ...

Sam: *whispers to Sarah* ... She's really cute...

Sarah: *quietly* That she is... They both are. X)

Emma: *yawns*

Sam: ... And we'll raise them right... We'll be the best parents ever, Sarah. The BEST for them... X3

Sarah: *nods, grinning*

Emma: *finally dozes off*

Sam: *Even quieter now* ... Let's put her in the crib, shall we? X3

Sarah: We shall. :3 *goes upstairs, leading Sam to the kids' room*

Sam: *quietly for the baby's sake, looking around* ... It's a beautiful house...

Sarah: *also quietly* I know... We made a good choice. :)

Lance: *is basically asleep, snuggled close to his mother*

Sam: *He steps closer to Sarah and rests his head on hers lovingly* ... <:)

Sarah: *leans up and nuzzles him affectionately, casting a brief glance down at Lance, then grinning*

Sam: *He then leans in, hugging Sarah, leaning down and kissing Lance on the head*

Sarah: *hugs him back with one arm, smiling contentedly*

Lance: *doesn't really react much--he was out cold*

Sam: *He rubs the boy's head, very proud to be the father of two infants with Sarah*

*the moment doesn't last for very long, as it is interrupted by crying from upstairs*

Sarah: !! Uh oh. *carefully hands Lance to Sam* I'mm be right back. D: *runs upstairs*

Sam: !! D: *He holds Lance close to him* <:P

Lance: *snuggles closer to his father's warmth*

*the crying continues*

Sam: *He waits there, rocking Lance a bit, his heart fluttering with happiness*

*after a little while, the crying subsides*

Sarah: *comes down the stairs, rocking a slightly grouchy-looking Emma back and forth*

Sam: *quietly* Aww! What happened? XD

Sarah: *quietly* I guess she doesn't like being left alone. ^^;

Emma: *gradually relaxes, looking at her father with wide eyes*

Sam: *approaches them with Lance still in his arms* Uh oh... I wonder how we're gonna be able to put her with her brother without Emma waking him up. <:P *Leans over and kisses Emma on the head just as he did to Lance*

Emma: *makes a little gurgling sound*

Sarah: We just have to make sure she's asleep. <:P

Sam: Heh... I'll go put Lance in his crib. You try getting Emma to go sleep, alright? X3

Sarah: *nods, smiling, and continues to rock Emma back and forth, humming something quietly*

Sam: *Walks upstairs and puts Lance in his crib. A husband and the father of two. Two things Sam never once believed he'd ever be* <:)

Lance: *sleeps soundly*

Sam: Oh, eight or nine. I wish I could come back sooner. XC

Sarah: Oh, me too... but when you do, eee~!

Sam: *He hangs up a writes out a report on the day's events*

Sam: *he knocks on the door of his family's new home, smiling to himself*

Sarah: *lets him in, holding Lance in her arms, grinning happily* Why hello there, Lieutenant. c:

Sam: Sarah...! Sarah, I can't -- Why are our children so adorable?? <8D

Sarah: Because we made cute babies. ;) Get in here! XP *steps back into the house to let Sam in*

Sam: X3 *steps inside, giddy*

House: *is much more open and spacious than the apartment*

Sarah: *gently rocks Lance back and forth*

Lance: *is falling asleep*

Sam: Alright then... *puts away the phone* I'll just hold you down until the soldiers arrive, okay? Okay.

*after a little bit*

A few soldiers: *arrive to take the mobster away*

Sam: *He heads back to the outpost, defeated for the day. He'll try again the next with a more direct approach. Any victims - living or dead - probably have a tale to tell of this new mafia. Hopefully that will be enough to figure out a common place that the mafia boss enjoys hanging out*

*At the outpost*

Gilder: How'd it go?

Sam: Awful. I found myself at a dead end.

Gilder: Well, don't let that discourage you. We must extinguish any troublemakers before they can become real threats.

Sam: Since when has a failure ever discouraged me, General?

Gilder: My mistake, sir.

Sam: Your mistake, indeed. :P *He picks up the phone in his office to call Sarah, dialing her number*

Sarah: *picks up, her tone cheery* Hello~

Sam: Uh, I've got bad news and good news. The good news is that I'm still alive, but the bad news is that I haven't gotten any closer to figuring out where these guys base their operations.

Sarah: *still sounds upbeat, though it's a bit more toned down* Oh... Well, that's okay, It's only been one day, right?

Sam: Well, yeah, but the Mafia boss guy MOVES AROUND, apparently... Ugh... I can tell he or she is going to be giving me a serious headache in the future.

Sarah: Well, I'm sure you'll catch them eventually. You dealt with Mr. Smiles before, didn't you?

Sam: I did, but that took YEARS... And I don't think we can risk years now that our children have been born.

Sarah: *sighs* I guess you're right...

Sam: ... Well, with luck, everyone else in this mafia is as much of a drunk as the guy I found today...

Sarah: *incredulously* The guy was DRUNK? REALLY?

Sam: Not too threatening, right?

Sam: *A grin stretches across his face* And what's that?

Gangster: ?!!?!? *is left even more disoriented than he was before* Th'hell s'yer PROBLEM??

Sam: *Calmly* Tell me where your boss is or BOTH of us will be having a problem.

Gangster: *scoffs, and drunkenly stumbles off the stool he was sitting on, swaying a bit as he regained his balance* as'f ah wuz gunna tell a MILITARY guy like you somethin'like THAT... PAH!

Sam: *He gives the man a devious smile, then takes out his gun and points it at his head* One.

Everyone: D8 !! *backs away from them*

Gangster: pffah. As if you'd really do it.

Sam: *takes the safety off, still pointing it at the mobster* Two.

Everyone: D8

Gangster: *only now does he seem to recognize the predicament he was in--he makes the mistake of trying to pull a gun out from under his jacket*

Sam: *Within a second, he shoots the drunk's hand, his eyes as hawk-like as his mother's*

Gangster: AAUGH!! *drops the gun, holding his hand close to his body to try and stop the bleeding* DDDDD8

Sam: *He steps in, takes the man by the collar of his shirt, and slams against the nearest wall. He speaks through clenched teeth* TELL ME. WHERE. YOUR BOSS IS.

Gangster: *visibly panicked* I-I don't know!! D8

Sam: *He starts screaming at the man in his fury* YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHERE YOUR BOSS IS?? NONE AT ALL?? THEN YOU'RE WORTHLESS TO ME!!

Everyone: DDDDDD8

Gangster: H-He's in a different place e-e-every day! I-I don't know where he is right now!! DDDDDDDDDDD8>

Sam: DDDD8< ... FINE. *forcibly turns him around, slamming him against the wall and handcuffing him*

Gangster: --!! *his head hits the wall and he becomes incredibly dizzy, groaning in pain*

Sam: *Calls the outpost* ... I've arrested a mobster here at a local bar. The address is 438 West Street.

Everyone: D8 ...

Soldier: We'll be there ASAP. *hangs up*

Sam: I'll be looking forward to it. ^^ *He then leaves for work*

Sarah: *goes to make sure everything is ready for the movers--she wants to get done as fast as possible*

Sam: *He quickly gathers weapons and things at the Outpost, then heads out in search for clues of the whereabouts of this... Mafia*

*everything seems normal. People walking up and down the streets, going about their daily business*

Sam: *He ventures into a few seedy bars, only finding a true clue on his fourth try. Of course, the clue ends up being a member of the gang, who was bragging loudly (and drunkenly) about how powerful and important he is in the group. Sam walks up to him and slams his head right down onto the counter, spilling whatever sort of drink he had (as for Sam it is hard to tell by simply the color)*
