The Next Morning

Sam: *Still asleep*

Sarah: *wakes up, still feeling rather pleasant. she lays there on Sam, smiling like an idiot*

Sam: *He wears his own smile as he sleeps, a hand over Sarah*

Sarah: *reaches back and slowly combs her fingers through his hair* :)

Sam: Mh... *His smile widens a bit*

Sarah: *gently nuzzles his cheek* <3

Sam: *He wakes up drowsily* Hmn... 'Morning, Sarah.

Sarah: Morning... *kisses his cheek*

Sam: *Kisses her cheek right back* ... I guess I'll be going to work then... Call me when we're fully moved into the new house. :)

Sarah: Of course~ ^^ *gets up so Sam can get ready*

Sam: *Goes to get ready, getting dressed and such*

Sarah: *does the same*

Sam: *soon is fully ready* Alright... I suppose I'll try finding where this Mafia is today.

Sarah: Be careful. <:(

Sam: Hah, I won't need to be. They'll probably end up shooting each other accidentally. Small groups like this are the kinds that don't last long. They CLAIM to be the "Mafia", but we haven't had anything LIKE that since... Well, probably before the first infection.

Sarah: I still think it's best if you don't underestimate them...

Sam: Alright... But only for your sake. <:P *He gives her a quick hug* I'll see you and the kids tonight. ;D

Sam: ... Mmm... You're very warm, y'know...

Sarah: *her hand still in his hair* That's a good thing, right?

Sam: It's a VERY good thing. X3 *he hugs her a bit tighter*

Sarah: Mmmmh. <3 *kisses his cheek, putting her hands over his arms again* You're warm too. We're like a big ball of warm. X)

Sam: And I'm completely willing to share. <3

Sarah: I appreciate that very much. <3

Sam: And oh my gosh we're moving tomorrow and the kids are gonna be coming with us ~

Sarah: *squirms happily* I knowwww~! X)

Sam: ... W-we have CHILDREN now... Oh wow...

Sarah: *puts her hands over his, rubbing them with her thumb, letting out a happy sigh* I know...

Sam: And hopefully nothing will go wrong. :P

Sarah: Hopefully... ^^;

Sam: And now let's go to sleep. ^^;

Sarah: Good plan. :3 *shifts around a bit to make herself a bit more comforable, then closes her eyes* Goodnight, Sam. <3

Sam: *still hugging her* ... Goodnight, Sarah. <:)

Sarah: *relaxes, and falls asleep, feeling happier than ever*

Sam: ! *hadn't expected this but welcomes it fully, wrapping his arms around Sarah*

Sarah: *nuzzles his cheek, picking the blanket up off the ground and pulling it over the two of them* <3

Sam: *with a warm smile* ... This is nice. :)

Sarah: I have good ideas. <:P *closes her eyes and sighs contentedly*

Sam: *whispers in her ear* I never doubted that. X3 *he lies his head down on the pillow and relaxes*

Sarah: Heheh... mm... *puts her hands over his arms, lightly rubbing them with her thumbs* ...this IS really nice...

Sam: ... We should do this more often. Couch or no couch.

Sarah: *smiles, and nods* Agreed... You are seriously the comfiest mattress. ;P

Sam: Why thank you, I work out often. ;D

Sarah: Don't think I don't know that. :P *tickles his side with one hand* :3

Sam: AH STOP - Wh-what's that for? XD;

Sarah: *grins* Amusement. :3

Sam: D-don't do that, we need to sleep. XD;

Sarah: I know. :P *pulls her hand away, and leans back to nuzzle his cheek*

Sam: *He happily nuzzles her back, kissing her*

Sarah: *kisses back, reaching a hand up to run it through his hair*

Sam: *Closes his eyes and sighs, enjoying this*

Sarah: *keeps combing through his hair, nuzzling his cheek, rather comfortable*

Sam: Hah, well, I didn't even realize we HAD a Mafia. These guys are probably just a small group of punks.

Sarah: Ah, I wouldn't underestimate them... I mean... I remember how much trouble we had with Mr. Smiles...

Sam: But Smiles was smart. These guys aren't. Especially since their little messenger threw a BRICK through my window.

Sarah: I see your point. But still... <:/

Sam: Don't worry, Sarah. I've dealt with worse. <:P

Sarah: *sighs* I know... *lays back down on the couch with a sigh* They took the bed, by the way. :I

Sam: .... Uh. shoot. D8

Sarah: Eeeeyup. Something about moving all the bigger furniture first. :I Lucky for us... couch. <XP

Sam: Heh, alright. ^^; How do we do this? Do we just... lie down?

Sarah: How else does one sleep? <:P We do whatever as long as we're comfortable. :P

Sam: Well that's what I'm worried about. Fitting two adults sideways on a couch and how comfortable that would be.

Sarah: Hmmm... Okay, I have an idea. *gets up* You get ready to sleep. I'm getting a blanket. *goes to dig around for a blanket in one of the few remaining boxes*

Sam: ... Uh. Alright. *he lies down on the couch, grimacing at how tall he is*

Sarah: *comes back with a blanket. she sets it down for a moment, then takes one of the couch pillows and moves it under Sam's head and shoulders to make him more comfortable*

Sam: Heh... Thanks for that. <:)

Sarah: Mhmm. :) Now then-- *carefully lays down on top of him, her back against his chest, her head on his shoulder*

Sam: Heh, you're telling ME. ^^;

*a brick is suddenly thrown through their window*

Sam: !!? *he looks over a the newly broken window and his eyes narrow. He gets out his tranquilizer gun* ...

Sarah: *hears the noise through the phone* What was that?! D:

Sam: A brick got thrown into my office window. I'm gonna have to call you back.

Sarah: Ah!! Okay... Be careful. <:(

Sam: I will. See you later! *he then hangs up*

Gun: *fires off outside the building*

Sam: ! Son of a dog...

Sarah: *is now worried--she hopes it wasn't anything too serious* ...

Sam: *he decides to put his tranquilizer gun away and simply take out his pistol. He sneaks out of his office, out of the outpost to see who's causing all the damage*

Man: *sees him and immediately points his gun at Sam* D8<

Sam: *points his gun right back* Why are you throwing shoot and shooting at me? >:/

Man: To get your attention!

Sam: Well you have it. >:(

Man: You better fracking watch out, alright? The mafia's coming back nice and strong, and with Smiles out of business, they're blaming YOU. >:(

Sam: We have a mafia?

Man: YEAH WE HAVE A MAFIA, ASSHOLE! D8< *is about to fire his gun --*

Sam: *shoots his hand, making the man drop the gun*

Man: *howls in pain, indeed dropping his gun*

Sam: *runs at the man and kicks him in the head, knocking him to the ground*

A few more soldiers: *run out, armed, and surround Sam and the man*

Sam: Good timing. If one of you could take this idiot to the prison, that would be great.

Man: *dazed, trying to get up from the ground* Ergh...

A soldier: *steps forward, quickly putting the man in handcuffs, and leading him away*

Another soldier: Are you alright, Sir?

Sam: Completely fine, thanks for the concern. He mentioned some sort of Mafia getting pissed at me. Not good but nothing I can't handle.

Soldier: *nods* We'll keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

Sam: Thank you. I'm going to go home now. Take care. *He then heads back into the building to finish packing up*

Soldiers: *go back to their respective posts*

meanwhile

Sarah: *is laying down, splayed out on the couch, one of the few pieces of furniture left in the apartment*

Sam: *After a few more minutes, he drives home and enters the apartment* Hey.

Sarah: Ah! *awkwardly sits back up* Hello. I take it it wasn't anything too serious?

Sam: Uh... I don't even know. Um. The "Mafia" wants me dead. :/

Sarah: Oh. WELL. That doesn't sound too pleasant. D;>

Blood Puppet: ! *He looks over and sees Annabelle there. He sniffles, then pulls Annabelle into a grateful hug, sobbing starting up again*

Annabelle: !! *hugs him tightly, not exactly sure what was wrong, assuming that he missed Celine...*

Blood Puppet: *Quietly, through his tears* Y-you're all I have left, Annabelle... This is it, just us...

Annabelle: *sniffles* I-I promise I won't leave...

Blood Puppet: *Still hugging her* Thank you, thank you, thank you... *whispers* Thank you...

Annabelle: *buries her face in his shoulder, trying to keep herself from tearing up--her father was sad enough. she needed to be strong for him*

Blood Puppet: ... At least... At least she's happy...

Annabelle: ...? *gives him a confused look*

Blood Puppet: ... I will be going into the waiting room to rest. I... just need time to think alone, alright?

Annabelle: ...Okay. *tightens her hug for a moment, then lets go of him* <:(

Blood Puppet: *pats Annabelle on the head before retreating to the other room*

meanwhile

Sam: *packs up his stuff to go home, though he is unsure if the new home is ready or if they have to sleep in the apartment for another night*

Sarah: *as if on cue, she calls his phone*

Sam: ! *picks up* Y'lo?

Sarah: *sounds a bit tired* Hey, Sam. Good news and bad news--Bad news is that they didn't get to finish moving everything, so we're gonna have to stay in the apartment for another night...

Sam: Aww no. D:> Well, uh, what's the good news?

Sarah: The good news is, we can go get the kids as soon as we're done tomorrow. :)

Sam: :D ! Okay, so - So everything's going pretty smoothly. :)

Sarah: Yep! Movers haven't broken anything and the kids are healthy. ^^

Sam: God, this is all like a dream, isn't it? <:D

Sarah: If this IS a dream, I can assure you I would cry my eyes out when I wake up. <:P

Blood Puppet: Yes, well... They paint me like a villain, but what am I supposed to do? Starve? ... Heh. I'm happy to see you, Mia... It's been so LONG... I just wanted to be with someone who knew me BEFORE all this... *he takes a step closer, genuinely smiling at her*

Mia: *doesn't step away, but doesn't move closer either, a hint of a smile on her face--she glances over at the clock, and the smile vanishes* You can't stay...

Blood Puppet: *He also glances at the clock, but doesn't understand* ... What do you mean?

Jim: *enters the house* Mia, I -- *sees Blood Puppet and panics* WHAT THE FU -- STAY BACK! STAY BACK, YOU! D-DON'T HURT US! D8>

Blood Puppet: *He stares at the husband, then looks at Mia, then back at the man standing before him. It all clicks into place, and it feels like someone has punched him in the throat* ... *he puts his mask back on*

Jim: *to Mia* How the hell did he get in?? D-do we call the police?? D8>

Mia: *glances back at her husband, then at Blood Puppet, taking a small step back. She gives Blood Puppet an apologetic look* H-He was just leaving...

Jim: Are you crazy?? He's not gonna "just leave", he's a mass murdering PSYCHOPATH! DDDD8

Blood Puppet: *He is quick. Much quicker than expected. He runs and grabs the man by his throat and slams him into the front door*

Jim: AH!! PLEASE! PLEASE LET ME GO! D8>

Mia: !!! *pleading* PLEASE, DON'T! D8>

Blood Puppet: *Changing his grip from Jim's neck to his shoulder, drawing his katana and placing it near the man's throat, he hisses* DO YOU LOVE HER?

Jim: Whah - What? D8>

Blood Puppet: MIA! DO YOU LOVE HER? D8<

Jim: Y-yes! Yes!! D8>

Mia: *more desperate* P-Please, don't hurt him...! D8>

Blood Puppet: You SWEAR??

Jim: I DO! D8>

Blood Puppet: *growling* You hurt her... You hurt her at ALL... and I'll come back and kill you. *He then lets go of the man and backs away, upset that he was much too late, too late to be with Mia again... His only friend... His first true love* ...

Mia: *quietly, genuinely, as if she could read his thoughts* I-I'm sorry...

Blood Puppet: *He remains silent, still stepping away from the couple. He puts his katana away... and runs. He jumps out of the window he came from, in the bathroom, and just runs back to his hideout, letting his tears run and fall as he does so*

meanwhile

Jim: W-we need to call the military. Th-that was that c-crazy Blood Puppet guy. That's th-their MOST WANTED GUY. D8

Mia: D-Don't. H-He's managed to avoid them this long... he'll be long gone by the time they get here...

Jim: *He looks at Mia for a while, then* ... Alright, Mia. Whatever you say. <:/

meanwhile

Blood Puppet: *He enters the dentist's office and goes to the room where he stores his heads. He picks up Celine's head, finding comfort in talking to it* ... I was able to see her again, Celine... She still looks so beautiful... Not to make you jealous, or anything. B-but she has a life now. A life without me. A life that... I can't be PART of. It feels like my heart's been ripped out of my chest. I-I remember every single second of being with her... how she made the infection seem not so awful... I wish I could just always be with her... and it would be so easy, but... I cannot bring myself to take her like I took you. She's too precious for that. *He puts the head down* I... I-I'm undeserving anyway... What good am I to her...? I'm nothing...! *He rips off his mask, throwing it at the heads* Nothing but a CRIMINAL!! D8< *He lets out a few shuddered breaths before collapsing onto his knees and sobbing into his hands*

Annabelle: *hears her father yelling, and peeks into the room* ...Dad? *steps into the room and finds him crying* D:> ...

Blood Puppet: *He doesn't even notice Annabelle as he cries to himself, cursing whoever made the cure for the green flu for not being thorough enough in making sure it works. Maybe then he wouldn't of been damned to this life of misery*

Annabelle: <:( ... *quietly approaches him, and lightly touches her shoulder, half-afraid of him lashing out at her*

Sam: *nuzzles back a little but remains asleep*

Sarah: *slowly rubs his back, happy to rest there*

Sam: *He smiles a bit from this and groggily starts waking up* ... Mmf...

Sarah: *quietly, still rubbing his back* morning...

Sam: *He smiles at her* Morning... I need to get to work... *he sits up with a small groan*

Sarah: *sits up and stretches, feeling rested* The movers are coming today...

Sam: Right... Hopefully moving will go by smoothly. I'd hate something delaying us being able to live with our kids...

Sarah: I think we should be fine. There isn't TOO much to move. *kisses his cheek* I'll keep you updated. <:P

Sam: Alright. :) *he gets up and gets dressed*

*later, that evening*

Mia: *sits in her home, watching television, waiting for her husband to return home from work*

Blood Puppet: *climbs in through the bathroom window and sneaks into the room Mia is in*

Mia: ? *turns around when she hears a sound, and sees him* !!! *stands and immediately tries to put distance between them, grabbing a nearby vase and holding it up threateningly* D-Don't come any closer! D8

Blood Puppet: ... Mia... You certainly have aged well. I've missed you.

Mia: *could have sworn she's heard that voice before... she slightly lowers the improvised weapon* ...Do I know you?

Blood Puppet: *Slowly, he takes his mask and removes it from his face* ... It's me, Mia... It's Walter. We traveled together during the first infection... Remember? We... We loved each other...

Mia: *remembers him as soon as his mask comes off, eyes widening in shock. she's at a loss for words* I-I... You... I th-thought you were DEAD...! D8

Walter: No... No, I managed to survive... Obviously, as you can see here. I know I SEEM horrible and dangerous and... Well, whatever else they've called me on the news... But it's only because I HAVE to kill to survive, Mia -- Something didn't go right when the cure came along.

Mia: It... *lowers the vase* It didn't work for you...? But... HOW..?

Blood Puppet: ... I don't know. I have no idea how. I just... I tried so hard to get help. I went through countless therapy sessions for my... urges. I went to doctor after doctor... but either I was laughed off or they had no idea what was wrong with me. I became a wreck. I couldn't and STILL can't function without... eating human flesh.

Mia: So you ARE the one on the news... *relaxes a bit, but only slightly, still not sure exactly why he was there* ...

Sam: *climbs on top of her and kisses her neck* Yes, well... they'll have to just deal with us loving each other.

Sarah: *puts her arms around his neck* Mm, I guess so. <3

Sam: *He kisses her happily, touching her face*

Sarah: *kisses him back, combing through his hair, happy as can be*

Sam: *he nuzzles her, touching his nose to hers*

Sarah: *smiles warmly, nuzzling him back* I love you, Sam...

Sam: I love you too, Sarah. <:)

Sarah: *closes her eyes, combing through his hair, just enjoying having him so close again*

Sam: *he gives her another kiss and rolls over to lie beside her*

Sarah: *snuggles back into him almost as soon as he moves* <3

Sam: *he hugs her and kisses her neck*

Sarah: *kisses back, on his neck, his shoulder, lightly touching his face*

Sam: *He scoots in and rubs her back*

Sarah: *sighs happily, nuzzling into his shoulder and doing the same for him*

Sam: *enjoys this as much as he hopes Sarah enjoys it*

Sarah: *is very comfortable and happy, and rather sleepy now. she falls asleep within moments*

Sam: *rubs her back for a while longer before falling asleep, himself*

*the next morning*

Sarah: *wakes up, feeling quite rested. she snuggles into Sam* <3

Sam: *He is asleep and snoring*

Sarah: *resists the urge to giggle. she puts an arm over him and nuzzles into his shoulder*

Sam: *walks quickly over to the bed, getting in and tackling Sarah with a hug* Aaahh! It's good to see you here again! X3

Sarah: *giggles, hugging him back* It's nice to BE here... hospital beds are just not comfy at all! <:P

Sam: Well now you're in a nice and comfy bed with your personal teddy bear. CX

Sarah: That I am. C: *kisses his cheek, then snuggles into him* <3

Sam: *snuggles with Sarah, not caring that he's wearing his coat and things in the bed*

Sarah: *only just notices this* ! ...Sam, why don't you get comfortable first? XD;

Sam: XP; *he gets up, takes off his jacket and shirt, gets into some sweatpants, then crawls back into the bed* <3

Sarah: *immediately snuggles against him again, nuzzling into his shoulder and letting out a happy sigh*

Sam: *hugs her, kissing her head, also very happy*

Sarah: *hugs him tightly, leaning up to kiss him. they hadn't been able to get close like this for a WHILE...*

Sam: *kisses her back, enjoying her warmth and their togetherness*

Sarah: *kisses him for a while, combing her fingers through his hair, until she has to pause to breathe* <33

Sam: Heh... if only our moms could see us now. Mrs. Huntings would probably hit me.

Sarah: *grins* She probably would... I think your mom would just stand there and shake her head at us... XD;

Sam: Hah, yeah. She's too calm to hit anyone. At least out of emotion. XP

Sarah: Heh... though I think mom would just smack you upside the head and scold you, if anything. :P

Sam: Haha. Parents can't handle seeing their kids getting intimate with someone. XP

Sarah: Of course not, we're still their kids. <:P
