Jacob: *had been recently injected with morphine. In a sing-song voice -* fffeeling s'good noww... ~

Houndour: ... *is speaking again* ... you'll have to wait. We're really sorry...

Meanwhile

Todd: *has fully transformed into a Hunter*

Key: O-Oh... okay, then... *turns and leaves without another word. she can hear Todd from down the hall--she quickly runs in the other direction, towards her room, trying to hold back tears (at least until no one can see)*

Harry: *for the first time since going crazy, he was completely silent in his room, now listening to Todd's growls and cries behind him* ...

meanwhile

Houndour: ... *to Jacob* I'm going to follow her.

Jacob: Yeah... thas'kay too...

Eclipse: Wait, no it isn't! D8 You're hurt and stuff!

Houndour: *he slowly gets up out of bed* My ribs are getting better. And my neck wound is bandaged.

Eclipse: ...

Houndour: Besides - you need to help Jacob anyway. *he slowly limps out and heads over to Key's room, following her tears*

Absol: *was about to protest, but decided against it. If no one helped the poor girl, she might end up locked in a room like the other two* ....

MEANWHILE

Key: *stops running when she gets to her room, and quietly closes the door behind her. she approaches her bed and sits on the edge, staring at the ground for a few moments before sobs start shaking her whole frame. It was worse than watching Todd die. So much worse (why did he have to suffer like that? what did he do to deserve this? nothing, nothing at all...)*

Houndour: *hunched over, he follows the tears, and knocks on the door that they lead into. He admits, he wasn't the greatest person to talk to when people were down. Sadly, he was the only person who was able to at the moment*

Key: *her head snaps up to look at the noise, and she immediately stops crying, trying to put up a strong front. she gets up and trudges towards the door, wiping her tears off with her sleeve, and opens it* ...hey, Houndour.

Houndour: You're upset. Do you want to talk about it? Even though we don't really know each other or anything?

Key: *looks down, hoping her hair hides her face enough. yes, she was upset. upset was an understatement. did she want to talk about it? she had no idea* ...I ... *laughs bitterly* They really love to torture us, don't they? The Fish and the Raccoon. *remembers Houndour has gone through this before* Was it like this the l-last time?

Houndour: ... What, with the stick guy running things? It... *he didn't want to lie - it wasn't better or worse, it was just DIFFERENT...* ... it was just as much as a slaughterhouse as this one. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure why you would want to know something like that.

Key: *so it wasn't just them and their horrible luck. this made her feel a teensy bit better, but not by that much* ...Just making sure they don't hate the three of us more than the rest... *laughs again* i sound really selfish right now. of course everyone has it just as bad as the rest of us.... *suddenly realizes Houndour's not in bed where he should be* ....Why're you here...? Shouldn't you be resting?

Houndour: ... I'm fine. Not as bad as the others. *he changes the subject* You were crying before. I know that Todd was sick or something... did something happen to him? *he knows that if he struck the right chord, he could get her to let everything out. That would help her feel better. If he said anything wrong, he'd probably get slapped. That would also help her feel better - giving her a target to unleash her feelings on. Still, he'd prefer to not get hit*

Key: .... It was the Flu. the G-Green Flu.... it... mutates you into a monster... the R-Raccoon cured him of it and made him human again, but... he was infected again the d-d-day after... *feels the tears coming on again. (so goddamned UNFAIR... he didn't deserve it...!)*

Houndour: Do you truly believe that he's suffering as he is now?

Key: Y-You didn't have to hear him screaming in pain... he hurt so much, he wanted to rip his eyes out. Imagine sitting there, holding the one you love in your arms, and watching them scream and cry and threaten to kill you all at once, and not be able to do ANYTHING to help them! *her voice has escalated to the point where she was almost yelling* It was worse than watching him die right in front of me!!

Houndour: *shakes his head* No. I meant... do you believe he's suffering, now that he's turned into a monster?

Key: ...... I-I don't.... know....

Houndour: ... if it's like you said, than he should be at peace with himself now. He was cured before, from what I've heard, so his mind's not gone - just lost. I bet you anything that he's perfectly happy as he is now.

Key: *a bit snappishly* Todd HATES being a Hunter.. even when he was cured he hated it. He felt... outcast. Even when it was just the THREE of us, headed for the safe zone!

Houndour: How do you know he hated it when he couldn't speak? He couldn't share his feelings, could he? He wasn't even THERE, was he?

Key: *suddenly lashes out and slaps him hard across the face* SHUT UP! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM!

Houndour: *slowly looks back at her* ... do you still feel sad, or just pissed at me?

Key: *raises her arm as if to hit him again, but catches herself and lowers it again* ....you don't know anything about him....

Houndour: frack yeah. I know hella shoot about your boyfriend. You're too good for him, anyway. *trying to get her to hit him again, now that he's lit a fuse*

Key: *looks back up at him, becoming enraged* Todd is one of the best people I've ever met in my entire life. He's too good for me. He deserves better than this *gestures to herself* pathetic excuse for a survivor.

Houndour: *he is helped to his bed. He gives Absol that same look of concern* ...hh... hhh...

Jacob: Right... *he leans over and sticks his head out into the hall* Hey Eclipse! Was I burned?

Jacob: *he grits his teeth from the pain, then speaks again* Right! I think I'm going to need some help with moisturizing my skin, and stuff!

Eclipse: Get Key to help you!

Absol: *shakes her head slightly, as if to say "don't worry about me, you're the one who was thisclose to bleeding out*

Key: umm... can i get the dragon on a bed first? ^^;

Ryu: *snorts*

Key: Riolu, help me out here. *goes to help Ryu carry Mal to a bed*

Riolu: *assists--he's stringer than he looks*

Mal: *is successfully placed in a bed*

Eclipse: He's a demon though. He'll be okay by tomorrow.

Houndour: *snorts*

Jacob: ... HALP.

Eclipse: Oh, right. *helps Jacob up and sends him over to a bed* Ok, just instruct me on what to do, or something.

Jacob: Someone's gonna have to sponge me.

Key: .... I'm gonna.. go check on Todd.... *leaves, headed for the room Eclipse had locked Todd in*

Todd: *is sobbing against the door, confused and angry*

Harry: *is mumbling his madness mantra right next to him*

Key: *it takes all her willpower not to walk away. she sits in front of Todd's door, back resting against it* ....Todd?

Todd: *he sniffles* Nnn...? Key...?

Key: Yeah... it's me...

Todd: *he snarls at her like an animal* PROVE IT! COME IN HERE AND PROVE IT - NO DON'T COME IN HERE - STAY OUT! STAY OUT, OR I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL KILL YOU!!

Key: *is on the verge of tears. she hates seeing Todd suffer like this, she HATES it!* ...W-We're working on the cure, Todd... W-We'll let you out soon, I promise...

Todd: LET ME OUT? HAH! I'M HAPPY IN HERE! HAPPY WHERE YOU CAN'T GET ME!

Key: *tears start running down her face, much to her dismay. she can't lose her cool, not now... she speaks very quietly* You don't mean that... that's... just the flu t-talking...

Todd: *he snorts* The flu is the least of my problems... don't fracking come in here, or I will tear your throat out - got it??

Key: *nods, then remembers he can't see her* r-right... i won't.... *takes a deep breath*

Todd: Good... gh... grrrhhffk... nnhh... noo...! *he's panting again. He mumbles out words, pleading for the change to stop... his words slowly turn into growls and snarls* GGGHHHNNNGHPLEASE-NOOOOORRRSSSNNNRRRF WHYYY GOD PLEASE GHHH... RRROWWRRHH...!!

Key: *buries her face in her hands--she can't listen to this anymore. she gets up and runs back to the other room, almost slamming the door open, tears overflowing now. she sounds desperate* Jacob, we need to finish this cure, NOW! D8>

Absol: !? *was startled by the sudden entrance, and narrows her eyes in Key's direction*

Angel: Demon scum... I've waited so very long to destroy you...

D. Malvagita: *he roars in pain, and paws at his snout. Anger bubbles back up inside him, and he sics his tentacles at Nomines* SNNYYAARH!!

Eclipse: *pulls his tentacles back, now seeing that Twilight had the upper hand. He spots Malvagita out of the corner of his eyes, and he could feel Condemned's need to help the demon* gahh... that'll only end in disaster... *he glances at Ryu, annoyed at her refusal to help her own child. It showed*

Mikenno: *snarling* then come and get me! *shots a stream of fire at Angel*

Nomines: *deftly dodges most of the tentacles, still being hit by a few, and slices off whichever ones she has the opportunity to* >:)

Ryu: ? *notices Eclipse watching her, and scowls, as if reading his mind (the wretch betrayed me. he is no son of mine.)

Key: *sees Reginald and Sonezio* Hey, let's go help him out! *runs over, taking shots at Reginald as she does so*

Riolu: right! *runs over with her, readying a Force Palm*

Angel: *rolls out of the way, though some fire catches his wing* AAH! AAHHH!! *he quickly puts it out, then shoots light energy at Mikenno, now very angry* D8<

Eclipse: *suddenly Condemned takes him over* AHH! frack, NOT NOW!

Condemned: Mal!! D8> *he dashes towards them*

D. Malvagita: *snarls when Nomines slices off some of his tenticles*

Condemned: *slams himself into Nomines, roaring angrily* D8<

Sonezio: Eh??

Reginald: *some bullets catch his shoulder* AAH!

Mikenno: !! *ducks under the light, then shoots fireballs at him in quick succession* D:<

Nomines: !?!! *completely didn't see him coming, and is knocked down. she stabs at her attacker*

Riolu: *runs up to Reginald, jumps, places its hand on his side, and looses the attack, blasting Reginald with evergy*

Angel: *moves out of the way, and slashes at him upwards*

Reginald: *is blasted back. He is sent back a few feet* AAAaahhh...!! *crash. He lands hard*

Sonezio: Ah... *he gives them a thumbs up*

Condemned: *hisses when he is stabbed, and bites Nomines's arm*

D. Malvagita: *snarls at them both, confused*

MEANWHILE IN THE DERIVITI STRONGHOLD, IN THE MEDICAL WING

Todd: *hisses at Houndour*

Mikenno: *is slashed in the snout. he retaliates by swiping at him with his claws*

Riolu: :D

Key: *high-fives Riolu*

Nomines: !!!! *hits him in the back of the head with the pommel of her sword, intending to disorient him*

Ryu: D:< *takes off, and lands near Condemned and Nomines, looking very much displeased* >:(

Angel: *the claws catch his side* AGH! *backs away, only to throw more light energy at Mikenno* D8<

Condemned: *disorientated, he lets go of her arm* gruuh...

D. Malvagita: *shoots tentacles at them both with the intention of KILLING them both*

Condemned: ...? !! *stumbles backwards, barely avoiding impalement* D:> ! MAL!

D. Malvagita: *roars at him*

MEANWHILE

Todd: *looks at Absol and Houndour feverishly* c... can't let... you live... now can I...? Bad... bad people...

Houndour: Eh?? *he fully sits up in bed, and winces from the short burst of pain it gave him*

Mikenno: *is hit, and temporarily disoriented--he starts losing altitute*

Riolu: ...o.o;

Key: umm...what?

Ryu: *grabs Condemned in a death grip*

Nomines: *slashes in a circle, cutting off the ends of the tentacles as they reach her* >:)

MEANWHILE

Absol: ...!! *tries to get up, but any minor movement still causes her extreme pain* nrr..

Angel: *watches him with cold eyes*

Sonezio: *he waves a hand at them* Eh ... non importa.

Malvagita: *screeches when his tentacles are sliced off him, then charges at her with the intention of ramming into her*

Condemned: WHA -?? Let me go, Ryu!! D8< *struggles*

meanwhile

Todd: *shaking, he drags himself out of the bed, and over to Absol, who he deemed the easiest to kill, since she was so thoroughly ripped up. He wasn't acting on his own thoughts. He was acting on an impulsiveness given to him by the Flu. He breathed like a hurt animal. Low. Ragged. Drool dripped off his lips. He couldn't feel it. He was numb. He looked down at Absol with a look only the sickness could give him - a horrible, insane rage*

Houndour: !! *he immediately jumps out of bed, and limps over to Todd and Absol in hopes of restraining the ill being*

Mikenno: *is frantically trying to right himself again-- he shoots a stream of fire in Angel's general direction in rage*

Key: ...okay?

Ryu: *holds on tightly* the wretch locked me up and let me rot! let him have his punishment!!

Nomines: *waits until he gets close enough... then thrusts her sword forward*

MEANWHILE

Absol: *a look of terror appears on her face when she sees Todd standing over him... she was completely defenseless, she could barely move (don't even have my claws!)*

Angel: !! *he is unable to dodge in time. Hit, he too, falls, crashing into the ground below him, and on fire*

Sonezio: *wanders off*

Condemned: HE'S STILL OUR SON!! D8<

D. Malvagita: *is stabbed through the chest* HRK! Ghhnn... nnhh... *transforms back* ... *he falls down, now dead, but unconscious*

Condemned: D8> !! *struggles MOAR!*

meanwhile

Todd: *tries to stab at Absol with his new claws -*

Houndour: *grabs him from behind, and holds him there*

Todd: *struggles* GYAH! LET ME GO! D8<

Houndour: Wouldn't dream of it.

Mikenno: *hits the ground, hard, and roars in agony as he feels a wing snap under him*

Ryu: *releases him, satisfied*

Nomines: hrmph. pathetic. *loks around and realizes she and Ignis are the only Origini left standing* ... *turns and runs, putting her sword back in her arm*

Ignis: !!! *sees Nomines running, and goes after her*

D.Twilight: *sees the two girls run, and gets off Shidako, getting a safe distance away from her. her fur was stained with blood, but most of her injuries had healed themselves by now* rrrrr....

Shidako: *unlike Twilight, she is unable to heal, and most of the blood on her fur was her own. she staggers to her feet, and glares at the Daemon. no wittyresponse today. she staggers off after the other two*

MEANWHILE:

Absol: !! *wills herself to move, and manages to stumble out of the bed on the opposite side from Todd, despite the extreme pain it caused. she has to support herself on thebed next to her*

Angel: *still on fire, he tries to get up, shaking, but ends up falling down again. He is forced to turn back into an unconscious Jacob*

Malvagita: *...*

Condemned: *he backs away from her, snarling* He did those things to you - not because he is an awful child - because we were awful parents. *he allows Eclipse to regain control again* frack! *talking to "himself"* You gotta fracking TELL me when you do that shoot! D8< ... *he notices Jacob* !! *Eclipse runs over to pick him up* Ffffrack... I hope you're not TOO bad... *walks to the teleporter*

Sonezio: *already teleporting to the stronghold*

MEANWHILE

Todd: *he elbows Houndour in the gut*

Houndour: Hurk! *is forced to release Todd*

Todd: *turns around, grabs Houndour by the shoulders, and bites him in the neck, piercing the jugular*

Ryu: rrr.... *looks down at Mal's still form* ......

Key and Riolu: *are also teleporting into the stronghold*

IN THE STRONGHOLD

Absol: No! *charges purple energy into her horn, and looses a strong Psycho Cut*

Eclipse: *enters the teleporter and heads to the medical wing with Jacob* Ugh... down one doctor... I hope no one was too badly hurt...

Sonezio: Peh. *goes to his room*

MEDICAL WING

Todd: *yells out from this, crashing against the wall* Guuhh... *he turns around and snarls at Absol*

Houndour: *keeps a hand on where he was bitten, trying to stop the blood from leaking out. He is in shock* Hh...! Hhh...!

MEANWHILE OUTSIDE THE STRONGHOLD

Malvagita: *has been left there*

Absol: *fall to her knees-- she has absolutely no energy left*

Riolu: *immediately senses something wrong when he enters the stronghold... a disturbance* ...something's wrong...!

Key: ...? !! Todd...! *bolts past Eclipse into the medical wing, and throws the door to Todd's room open* !!!

Riolu: *follows her* D:>

Todd: *He snaps his head in her direction and hisses angrily. Absol's attack had weakened him - he was barely standing now* sssss...!

Eclipse: *had run with them, and was shocked at the find* OH FU - RIGHT WHEN OUR DOCTOR'S UNCONSCIOUS, TOO! D8<

Houndour: *still desperately trying to hold the wound* hhh... hh...

Key: S-Someone keep Todd from attacking again! *scrambles to grab gauze and bandages and other such things to help Houndour*

Riolu: *bravely stands between Todd and the others* >:(

Absol: *can't move from where she fell* ....

Todd: *lunges at Riolu. The scream he let out was amplified, and sounded more like a Hunter's scream*

Eclipse: !! *puts Jacob down, and whips tentacles at Todd, which wrap around him tightly, not letting him move*

Todd: *snarls and struggles to free himself*

Houndour: *watches Key do these things, still holding his wound* hh... hhh...

Riolu: *was ready to defend himself, until Eclipse caught Todd first* D:> mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh. *is rather disappointed that he missed his chance to prove himself*

Key: *has all the materials* Absol, I'll be right there D: *goes to help Houndour. she wads up a bunch of gauze, then lifts Houndour's hand up and quickly presses it against the wound to stop the blood* ...

Eclipse: *to Key* What do I do with Todd?

Todd: *screams in frustration. He looks around wildly at them*

Houndour: *winces when she puts the gauze on him* ...

Jacob: *...*

Key: I don't know! Hold him there, put him in another room, just make sure he doesn't hurt anyone! *starts wrapping the bandages around Houndour's neck*

Riolu: *watches Todd carefully*

Absol: ....

Eclipse: ... *he nods, and begins dragging Todd out of the room*

Todd: *before being pulled out of the room, he catches one last glimpse of Key. He speaks her name through hissing and bared teeth* ... Key...

Eclipse: *drags him over to the room next to Harry's* And slowly but surly, the Medical Wing turned into a madhouse... *throws him in there and locks the door*

Todd: *pounds his fists against the door in rage*

BACK IN THE ROOM

Houndour: *is being bandaged by Key. He waits, but is still somewhat in shock* ... hh... hhh...

Jacob: *waking up* ergh... ow...

Key: *tries to ignore Todd--he's not the one who needs help right now (need to focus...) she finishes bandaging Houndour* You'll be okay, just don't move around too much... *notices Jacob waking up* oh, thank god. *to Riolu* Rio, can you help Absol back onto her bed?

Riolu: *cocks his head in confusion at the nickname, and smiles briefly before becoming serious again* right. *goes to do so*

Ryu: *enters the room backwards, dragging a stil-unconscious Mal* nrr...

Eclipse: *notices this from the hall, and feels upset, due to Condemned* Ah... so you didn't leave him after all, huh?

Malvagita: *...*

Todd: *still banging on the door*

Jacob: *rubs his head from the headache, but winces from the pain of even moving* ... did I get burned, or something...?

Houndour: *does as he is told* hh... hhh...

Ryu: *hissing* We couldn't risk losing another fighter. We're at enough of a disadvantage as it is. *truth was, she WAS genuinely concerned about him, even though she hated feeling that way. he didn't DESERVE her concern.*

Key: *to jacob* I'm not sure, I didn't see... you'll have to ask Eclipse about that one. *to Houndour* come on, we gotta get you back on the bed. *tries to help Houndour up*

Absol: *has managed to get back on the bed with Riolu's help, in even more pain than before from having to move so much, but she eyes Houndour with concern* ....

IN THE MEDICAL WING'S ROOM THAT JACOB IS IN

Jacob: Oh... he certainly LOOKS bad. D: *still working on the cure*

Todd: *looking down, still shaking, panting and wheezing*

Jacob: Key, why don't you help him into an empty bed? ... I'm going to need to talk to Eclipse.

Key: *nods, and moves Todd towards an empty bed* ...

Todd: *gets in the bed silently*

Jacob: Key, I think I'm going to have to fight with you all...

Key: ?? Are you sure? It gets pretty nasty out there...!

Jacob: *he sighs* I honestly don't want to, but Todd's out today. Besides, at least I won't remember any of it.

Eclipse: *peeks in* Jacob?

Jacob: Ah! Just the mobian I wanted to see!

Eclipse: Why did you call for me earlier?

Jacob: Eclipse, I think I'm going to have to become Angel again.

Eclipse: WHA - ??

Jacob: Now, now. It's for a good cause. Just make sure that you reason with him. Make your side sound as holy and religious as possible, ok? He's sure to fight for you then.

Eclipse: ...

Eclipse: Angel. We're at war. You're in the Between World.

Key: Time to go. *looks at Todd, and can't help but worry. She hopes he won't go crazy before they get back... she leaves the med room and heads for the teleporters*

Angel: *is already there, glaring at EVERYONE. A complete flip in personality*

Skye: *is avoiding being knifed by Ignis*

Ignis: STOP MOVING, damnit!

Nomines: *faces off against Ryu and Malvagita* The rulers of Hell. Fitting opponents... *grins*

Malvagita: Please, scum. I took her thrown and locked her up. She's lucky to have been taken here. *throws a fireball at Nomines*

Eclipse: AGAHHH MIKENNO, THAT'S JACOB! D8

Angel: *dodges the fire blast by flying upwards*

Bo: *stabbing and slashing things* GOOD DARN THING I'MA NOT DEAD!

Nomines: *extends an arm and absorbs the fireball, just like the first time* Only with trickery and assistance, Demon.

Ryu: *growls angrily at Malvagita, then grins maliciously when she sees the situation* If you are so powerful, then face her yourself. *steps back, and crosses her arms, completely comfortable with watching Mal get his @$$ handed to him. hopefully.*

Mikenno: *growls and follows Angel, shooting a fireball at him*

Angel: *quickly divebombs at Mikenno, NARROWLY avoiding the fireball. He slashes at Mikenno with his sword*

Eclipse: No, really, guys, kill the people we don't care about. D:> um...

Malvagita: *snarls at Ryu, then relaxes* ... very well, Mother. *he then lets his demekarr take him over, letting his mind get lost in the void* SCREEEEEE!! *sprints at her, tentacles flailing wildly behind him*

Sonezio: *attacks Reginald, who had recovered from yesterday*

Reginald: *didn't appreciate even an INFECTED version of Harry attacking him, and is bitter about it. He attacks fiercely* RAAUUUGH!

Nomines: *quickly pulls a sword out of the arm she blocked the flames with, and faces Malvagita without fear*

Mikenno: *draws his head back in time, and only gets a small scratch on his snout. he snarls at Eclipse* The bastard's tried to kill me more than once! *snaps at Jacob*

Twilight and Shidako: *are ripping each other to pieces*

Eclipse: MIKENNO, HE'S THE ONLY DOCTOR WE'VE GOT!!

Angel: *Mikenno's bite gets him on the arm* AAHGH! *blasts feaux-light at him* BEAST!

Eclipse: D8> ... *he looks back at Twilight and Shidako* fffffff...! *turns back to Mikenno and Jacob* I hope you do the right thing in the end, Mikenno. <:/ *he runs off to help Twilight, shooting tentacles at Shidako*

D. Malvagita: *slashes at her, then snaps his jaws at her like a crocodile all in one motion*

Nomines: *ducks under the slash, and swings her sword up at the bite, catching Mal's arm as well as the end of his snout*

Ryu: *applauds, obviously amused*

Mikenno: *cries out and releases him, seemingly losing his balance. he spares a passing glance at Eclipse, then focuses back on Angel* .... *growls*

Shidako: *yelps when she is stabbed by the tentacles, and snaps at them, trying to bite them off*

Twilight: *gains the upper hand, and pins her down, biting at her neck*

Todd: *he fights against her, still screaming - but alas, he was still much too weak* NNOOOOOGH!!

Key: Todd, please, stop! You'll be okay, i'll take care of you, but you need to STOP!

Todd: *stares at her, his eyes into hers, just like yesterday. This time, however, he didn't attack her. He was wheezing and panting, and was desperately looking for comfort. He didn't say a word* ... hh... hh...

Key: *(déja-vù...) slowly puts Todd's hands down so they're flat on the ground (and AWAY from his face!), and places both her hands on either side of his face* ....are you going to try to attack me again? *really sincerely hopes he doesn't. she doesn't want to fight him anymore.*

Todd: *still panting. He doesn't answer her for a while, staring down at those claws of his* hh... hh... *finally he looks back up* I... I dunno... *he shakes his head* ... I dunno...

Key: *sighs in relief when she gets a coherent response, and hugs him* ...

Todd: *doesn't hug her back, but rather, stays limp in her arms. He was sick, and his eyes burned. He was going to turn into a zombie. It all sucked* c... can you... get Jacob? Y-you said he had... painkillers...

Key: *lets go of him* only if you promise not to rip your eyes out...

Todd: *lowers his head again* ... if you hurry, I won't...

Key: ...okay. *gets up and rushes out of the room, headed for the medical wing. (i hope he's still there...) She reaches the room and knocks once before peeking her head in* ...Jacob?

Jacob: *he turns his head, glancing at Key form the corner of his eye* Eh... hello, Key. *he had stayed up all night working on the cure, and was paying the consequences for it. He looked exhausted*

Key: *comes into the room* ...Todd's getting worse... do you have painkillers? D:

Jacob: Uh... sure, how strong do you need it to be?

Key: umm... i dunno... apparently Todd's eyes are hurting so badly that he wants to rip them out... ._.

Jacob: D8 !! Well wouldn't you say that that's pretty bad?? *he opens up some cabinets, and madly searches through them until he finds what he's looking for* damn disorganized pile of... here. *he turns around and hands Key a bottle of ibuprofen* give him four. That should at least help him a LITTLE. If it gets worse... *he gives her a syringe, filled with a fluid. It was capped* give him this. it's diazepam. It should knock him right out.

Key: *takes the painkillers, and nods* Thank you so much, Jacob. *runs out of the room, back to her own room*

Todd: *he shaking again - holding back that urge to claw his eyes out*

Key: *enters the room, and finds Todd right where she left him. she approaches him and sits in front of him, putting down the syringe and opening up the bottle of ibuprofen* I brought you the painkillers... Jacob said these should help... *takes four out of the bottle, and offers them to Todd*

Todd: *still quivering, he takes the pills, and swallows them one at a time* hh... hh... I wonder how much time I have left...

Key: ...I don't know... I guess we'll find out.... i think you should stay in the medical wing today.

Todd: Alright... *he gets up, his shivering making the action slower than it should. He then stumbles to the door*

Key: ... *goes toward him and puts an arm around him to steady him*

Todd: *he's wheezing. He turns to look at Key - a look of fear, and confusion. His eyes reflected in the dark, and glowed like a cat's. He was extremely damp from the sweat being produced by his body, which also made him dehydrated* Nn... nnohh...

Key: *is startled by the sudden appearance of glowing eyes. (he's getting worse... it's mutating too fast...!)* .... *she ignores his mumbled warning and moves closer to him, kneeling in front of him* ....

Todd: *he stares at her - FEARING her. And why wouldn't he? He had a feeling she was dangerous or something - MUST be dangerous... killed... must be killed. She was one of those people trying to cure him. That wasn't good. Was it? No. No. No. It told him. Why wouldn't he trust it? That'd be stupid if he didn't... but he was too weak... he couldn't do anything - not without her overpowering him. Not in the state he was in. He had to wait. Had to get stronger. Strong enough to strike back* ss... stay... away from me...

Key: I'm not going anywhere. *decides that he must be very close to turning completely (barely even a day... was that even possible?) Todd... I'm not going to hurt you, and you're not going to hurt me... *bravely reaches towards him and puts a hand on his cheek* okay?

Todd: *he suddenly snaps out of it, and begins to cry, knowing EXACTLY why he had been thinking those thoughts. Knowing EXACTLY what was happening to him. He cried, sobbing against Key's hand. He was a danger to her, wasn't he (no - SHE was a danger to HIM!)?* d-don't want to h-hurt you...

Key: *moves a bit closer, feeling it's somewhat safer to do so* You're not going to. I'll make sure of that. *rests her forehead against his* I love you, and you know it... I won't let this be like the first time.

Todd: *he is silent now. Something must've happened that allowed him to snap back into reality. That isn't good. The virus continued on in its work nonetheless. Plugging. Unplugging. Forcing the brain to work harder than ever before. Key needed to die, it told him (but why?). It was only necessary. Things died on their own, after all - this wouldn't be anything different. The virus unplugged a few more things. Filled it all back up with impulse. Todd's eyes had that feverish look in them again, and he panted heavily, his skin glistening with new beads of sweat. He looked back up at Key, into her eyes. Then, he lunged. He tackled into her, and wrapped his hands around her throat, baring his teeth like a dog. He did all of this without a word*

Key: *is caught completely off-guard (damnit. i should've know better!) and has the wind knocked out of her when Todd tackles her to the ground. finding the she is unable to breathe, she grabs at Todd's wrists, trying to get his hands off her neck*

Todd: *he struggles to keep his hands on Key's neck, but Key manages to pry them off - he was still too weak! Too weak, damnit! He struggled for as long as he could to get his hands closer to Key's throat again, before he slumped over, and blacked out again*

Key: *is startled yet again by the sudden lack of resistance, and even more so when Todd blacks out on top of her. she sits up, carefully getting out from under Todd, and flips him over, putting his head on her lap* .... *runs a hand through her hair. why is it that every time she tries to fix something, it only came out worse? (am i just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or am i really that much trouble?)*

Todd: *his black out was caused by the Green Flu forcibly shutting down his entire body. That way, the brain had more energy released. That way, it could work without distraction*

Key: .... *aims a million curses and swears at those two damned animals, for making them all suffer for their amusement. for making Todd suffer right after he had been granted a reprieve. she knew Jacob wasn't going to be done with the cure by tomorrow, maybe he wouldn't even be CLOSE (he's only getting worse and worse...) she didn't know what to do. she couldn't let him out to fight tomorrow, but if she stayed with him, the Deriviti would be down three allies... and there was always the chance that Todd would try to attack her again (no, not Todd, the flu. the goddamned FLU.)*

Todd: *in the darkness, he groaned in pain. The flu was still working*

Me: time skip?

Key: ....

Me: go right ahead.

THE NEXT MORNING

Todd: *was still asleep in Key's lap. His skin was grey-blue, and his hair was white. He was twitching irregularly, and shivering*

Vomit: *near the bathroom, it was now clear that Todd had puked up a mixture of bile, blood, and bits and pieces of his own digestive track - something that the Green Flu immediately fixed up again afterwards*

Key: *had tried to stay awake the entire night, but she dozed off more than once... every time she snapped back to alertness, she would notice Todd's changes, and how quickly they were happening. She was terrified to be in the same room as him (he's rested now--if he wakes up, i'm DEAD!), but she couldn't bear to just leave him there. something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention, so she looked--and immediately regretted it. she quickly looked away, clamping a hand over her mouth to prevent herself from vomiting as well*

Todd: *in his unconsciousness, he mumbles out her name* ... Key...?

Key: !! *she looks down at him hopefully, then mentally kicks herself (he could jump up and hurt you any second! He's still infected!)* ...Todd?

Todd: *his eyes flutter open* ... burning... Key, they're... burning me...

Key: ...What are you-- *realizes the one thing that was different. he still has eyes.* ....

Todd: It'll be better... better if they weren't there... y-yeah... c-can't... GOD, THEY'RE BURNING THROUGH MY SKULL!! *in truth, his eyes weren't doing any harm to him. It was all in his imagination - the virus did it. Todd put a hand over his eyes - there were claws there now - shutting all light out, SCREAMING. He had to do something - ANYTHING! Anything to stop the burning!*

Key: *has always wondered why Hunters had no eyes--and it suddenly dawns on her that they claw their own eyes out because they hurt* T-Todd, don't do anything c-crazy... I-I'll get Jacob to get it to stop, just...

Todd: *he quickly moves himself away from Key (sick again) shaking from the pain. He tensed up his hands, about to dig them into his own sockets, panting and drooling*

Key: *quickly moves over toward him, and grabs his hands before he can harm himself* Todd, you don't need to do this! D: I-I'll get Jacob to give you a painkiller, you just need to stop!

Eclipse: *he nods, and puts Todd on the bed*

Todd: *his eyes are still open from when he first fainted - still completely white*

Eclipse: I'll see you tomorrow.

Key: right.... *looks back at Todd and shudders involuntarily at the sigh of his eyes. she reaches over and closes them* ...... *sighs* guess you'll be staying here tomorrow...

Todd: *was practically paper white at this point. He had suddenly shifted from burning hot to freezing cold, and he was shivering, uncomfortable*

Key: ... *touches his cheek with the back of her fingers, and nearly recoils at how cold he is* D: .... *pulls the sheets over him* ......

Todd: *he wakes up from this* Ahgh... Wh-what happened...? Why're we back here...??

Key: *sits on the edge of his bed* you passed out while we were visiting Harry. ):> Eclipse had to help me carry you over here.

Todd: Aahh...! DAMNIT! Why the hell did The Raccoon do this to me?? I DON'T WANT TO BE INFECTED AGAIN!! D8<

Key: Todd, calm down! D:< I don't know why, but those stupid animals look like they want one thing: entertainment. If we "entertain" them enough, they're bound to get bored and release us.

Todd: How the hell are we going to accomplish that? D;> Everything that goes WRONG seems to entertain them. And watching us have sex. That was horrible.

Key: *face reddens* please don't bring that up again. that was humiliating. o///o; Besides... Harry had to get out somehow...

Todd: ... he said something about a stick man, right? I forgot it's name, but there WAS a stick man involved.

Key: Oh! Wait, I know this.... Bob. I think that was its name.

Todd: Right... right... maybe he can help us all escape...

Key: maybe, but... wasn't the stick man the one who started this whole thing the first time? D:

Todd: But Harry talked to him... right? Convinced him to let them all out?

Key: ...i don't remember....but... what if the stickman isn't the one running it this time?

Todd: ... who knows... man... do you feel exhausted? I feel exhausted. Maybe we should sleep.

Key: *jokingly* "Or something?" XD

Todd: Oh, shush. >:/ *the thing was... he had actually infected Sam when he had sex with her, and thinking of doing that again in the condition that he was in (even when Key was immune) was HORRIFYING*

Key: I was kidding. :P *touches his cheek with the back of her fingers again, and frowns* ...you're freezing... blood must be thinning out again... *smiles* Need some warmth?

Todd: *his face lightens up at this* Y'know what? That would make this much better. *He scoots over in his bed*

Key: *climbs in next to him, and wraps her arms around him, snuggling into his chest as she usually did*

Todd: *falls asleep with her*

LATER THAT NIGHT

Todd: *he shifts around in his sleep, sweating, uncomfortable. Already, the Green Flu started its assault on his brain. Moving through it like a machine, it tweaked things... pulled things... destroyed things like his sense of logic and reasoning... because the mind was an easy thing to reprogram, really. It worked like a computer, after all, and was just as capable of being scrapped and turned into something else. In Todd's case, the virus was turning him into a living weapon. Unplugging the unnecessary thoughts. Plugging in fake ones. The infection hijacked his entire body, slowly but surly. Suddenly, Todd woke up, feeling EXTREMELY ill. Shaking, he got out of bed and dragged himself over to the bathroom as fast as he could - but was too late. He vomited. In the darkness, he never noticed the blood mixed into the sick. All he knew was that he felt dangerously dizzy at that point. Shivering even more now, he sank to the floor, next to the pile of vomit, which made him feel nauseous. He tried moving himself closer to the bed - this made him feel even more violently ill. He was stuck. Todd sat, crouched down on the floor - the lesser of three evils - and waited for himself to feel better* hhh... hhhnnngh...

Key: *is awoken by the noise, and is confused by the lack of someone next to her. She sits up and squints through the darkness of the room, trying to see where he had gone, and finds him crouched down on the ground. She gets out of bed and approaches him* Todd....? *almost gags at the smell of the vomit. she immediately becomes more worried than she already is, and gets closer* Todd??

Todd: *steps closer to Harry* So... how've you been feeling, Harry? Any better?

Harry: I dunno...

Todd: *trying to be helpful* Do you feel less like punching me in the face? <:D

Harry: *in the same tone* I dunno...

Key: *steps closer with Todd* ....

Todd: Harry...

Harry: *looks up at him* eh?

Todd: There's no reason for you to be like this...

Harry: Yes there is... Todd's dead...

Todd: *in a scolding, almost MOTHERLY tone (as strange as that was to imagine), complete with a finger wag* Now, now. Remember what we discussed YESTERDAY, Mr. Gaszky! I am Todd, and that's final!

Harry: ...

Key: *snorts, holding back a laugh* He's right, Harry.

Harry: *he looks down at the floor*

Todd: Aw, Harry! D: What's getting in your waay that's preventing you from GETTING IT? D:>

Harry: ... Todd's DEAD...

Todd: The raccoon brought me back! D:>

Harry: The Raccoon is EVIL...

Key: *really wants to agree* ...The Raccoon might be evil, but she also has a conscience. I dunno why she brought him back, but she did.

Todd: Plus she gave you the weapons and armor, remember? <:D

Todd: *suddenly agitated* frack, HARRY. SERIOUSLY.

Harry: *looks at him, confused*

Key: ! Todd, I don't think being loud is a goo idea.

Todd: Sorry... I'm sorry... Stupid Green Flu... I blame THAT.

Harry: !! *this got his attention* Green Flu?

Todd: :D ! Yes! Yes, do you remember it?

Harry: *shivers*

Todd: Right. D:

Key: *sighs, slightly disappointed by Harry's reaction*

Harry: ... s'bad disease... turned Todd into a zombie...

Todd: Harry? D:

Harry: ...

Todd: *getting woozy* ... Harry? D;

Todd: *his eyes roll into his head, and he blacks out, falling over backwards*

Harry: !!

Key: !! *was sort of standing behind him, and manages to catch him and slowly put him down* Oh no no no. This isn't good. Todd?? Todd!! D8>

Harry: *stares at Todd, the memories resurfacing* ...

Todd: *completely unconscious*

Key: *mutters every profanity she finds appropriate for the situation under her breath* .. I'm sorry harry, but we have to go now. D:> *tries to drag Todd out of the room*

Harry: *continues staring at where Todd was* ...

OUTSIDE THE ROOM

Todd: *still unconscious*

Eclipse: *was there* Um...

Key: *somewhat relieved* Eclipse! Todd just... passed out... can you help me get him back to our room? D:

Eclipse: Oh! Uh... sure! D: *he goes into his Condemned form so that he's able to lift the overlander*

Todd: *...*

C. Eclipse: *picks him up* ... he's got a pretty high body temperature. *walks to the residential area*

Key: yeah.. he's getting worse.....

Eclipse: ... did you tell Jacob about what happened to him? Out on the white space?

Todd: *...*

Key: Yeah, he's working on the cure right now.. though i don't know if he'll be able to finish it before Todd turns... again...

C. Eclipse: That's a shame.

*They reach Key and Todd's room*

C. Eclipse: Alright. Do you want me to put him on his bed, or what?

Todd: *...*

Key: that'd be helpful... thanks...

Todd: *he coughs loudly*

Jacob: *moves back and forth between remaining walk-ins, the more serious patients, and the cure*

Key: *helps Jacob as best as she can, trying to take some of the burden off him so he could work on the cure*

Jacob: *is quite thankful for the extra hand*

*soon there are no more remaining walk-ins, and Houndour is able to be sent back to his room. Now the only people that remained were Absol, Key, Jacob and Todd*

Jacob: *focusing completely on the cure now*

Todd: *seems to be in a trance, numb-minded, looking down at his shoes with no real interest or seeming worry (though he had every REASON to be). His eyes were glazed over. Distant.*

Key: *when she's done working, she moves towards Todd. she knew the infection was getting to him just by looking at him, and she sincerely hoped (no, begged) that Jacob would be able to complete the cure before...Todd...*

Jacob: *still works on the cure, he speaks to Key* I won't complete it today. Take him back to your room. *he jerks his head to Todd*

Todd: *is in a state of half-consciousness* ...

Key: ... *nods. she takes Todd's hand, and guides`him towards tthe room*'

*When they reach the room...*

Todd: *when they enter the room, he raises his head* uh... o-oh... how'd we get here?

Key: y-you don't....? ...I brought you here.

Todd: Oh... I, uh... I guess I kinda spaced out... *he wipes some sweat from his brow, feeling the heat of the building fever (it would soon get so much worse) - Jacob had better hurry! God... to think he'd turn into a zombie again... (god)... he hoped that in the end, he won't hurt Key. Dragging his feet, he walked over to his bed, and sat down on it (more like fell). He felt clammy and uncomfortable*

Key: *bites her lip* It's.... getting worse, isn't it? *has pretty much the same worries as Todd... she knew that if he turned back into a zombie, the Raccoon (that stupid, goddamned furball) wasn't going to give him another chance. she sits next to him and puts a hand on his forehead--she was right. he was getting worse* ....

Todd: *doesn't even give her a full answer. Just a noise that sounded a bit like "Yeah"* ... what are you going to do if I turn...?

Key: *slides her hand down to his cheek, then just lets it drop* ...I don't know.... wait for you to be cured, i guess... *she was uncertain. she remembers her reaction to Todd's death... she didn't want that to happen again*

Todd: Well... if anything, make sure I don't claw out my eyes again. I kinda like to have them there. *he forces a small laugh. It sounds awkward* ... um... are we going to visit Harry today? Please?

Key: We can if you really want to.

Todd: Well, I REALLY want to...

Key: *stands up* then, let's go. *holds a hand out to Todd to help him up*

Todd: *takes the hand, needing it more than he ever did* ... alright.

*They walk out, and head back over to the medical wing. Todd was sluggish*

*they reach Harry's room*

Key: *puts her hand on the knob* ....ready?

Todd: *sucks in his breath, and nods* ... yeah...

INSIDE

Harry: Gonna be... ok... gonna be ok...

Key: ... *opens the door, and finds Harry talking to himself, just as they left him*

Harry: *notices them* ! Oh...

Todd: Hello, Harry. We've come to visit you again...

Harry: ... thank... you.

Todd: ^^ *he puts on a good face, despite how crappy he was feeling at the moment*

Key: *smiles at his positive response, but is going to wait for Todd to move closer before she does*

Todd: I... I-I'm fine. Let's focus on the fight, alright? D: *he wipes most of the bile quickly off his face* ... ew...

Todd: Does this mean we're also heading back?

Eclipse: *walking past them* Yes. Thank god the fight was shortened today. I gotta say - these new zombie-things? They make the job MUCH easier.

Todd: ... come on, Key. *walks with her to the teleporters*

Key: *looks at his facial wounds, concerned* ....i think we should get Jacob to take a look at those....

Todd: Right... right, ok. Yeah. Good idea. *he was far more concerned about what would happen, now that he's had contact with an infected*

*Now in the stronghold, Todd walks with Key to the medical wing where Jacob was stationed. They pass by Harry's room*

Harry: s'gonna be ok... gonna be ok... gonna be ok, Todd... gonna...

Me: dude, that's what Key was thinking about, not just the fact that he was hurt. XD

Key: *tries to block out Harry's rantings* ....

*they find Jacob in one of the rooms, tending to Sonezio Redfield, who's upper right arm had been slashed*

Todd: Uh...

Jacob: Oh! I've been kinda busy with a lot of people. Gotta work fast.

Key: That's totally understandable, but.... *bites her lip*

Todd: I... uh... *he doesn't look too good - he was very pale*

Key: *looks at Todd-- and her worry increases tenfold* H-He got attacked by this weasel thing, and then a Boomer exploded on him... We need to stop him from getting infected...!

Jacob: Oh. D:

THE RACCOON: HERE. HAVE THIS. *GIVES JACOB THE COMPONENTS TO MAKE THE CURE, AND THE INSTRUCTIONS*

Jacob: *quickly skims over the instructions* ... this is going to take time. D:

Todd: How much?

Jacob: Like, a few days.

Key: umm, umm... clean wounds first! *hunts for the necessary items, and begins doing so*

Absol: *hisses in pain, but can't really do much else*

Jacob: *gives Houndour an ice pack* hold this right here... yeah, that's it. *runs over to Absol* Back! Alright! *removes her upper-body clothes without hesitation, then gets to work, cleaning the wounds* Were the Origini covered in sharp things today, or what? This is my fourth patient with torn flesh - not too many with blunt-attack-related damage. *after cleaning the wound, he hooks Absol up to a drip with a blood-bag attached. Immediately after that, he gives Absol morphine to help with the pain. He moved almost mechanically, having treated wounds like this so very many times before*

Todd: *waits as best as he could* ...

Riolu: *walks into the medical room with a few cuts and scratches, and a nasty black eye*

Key: D: come here, Riolu, we need to clean you up.

Riolu: *does so*

Key: *decides his injuries are minor enough, and decides that cleaning them up and giving Riolu an ice pack is enough*

Jacob: *after a while, finishes treating Absol for the time-being, and moves over to help Houndour* Did you run into a wall, or what?

Houndour: *glares at Jacob*

Jacob: *starts fixing him up as well*

Todd: *he shuffles over to the wall next to the door, and leans on it* ...

Key: *finishes up with Riolu* There. Who attacked you, anyway?

Key: *realizes he's referring to the werewolf, and nods*

Jacob: *is done with Houndour. He sets the components for the cure up on a table* Todd.

Todd: Eh?

Jacob: I'm going to be working on this on the side. Are you prepared to be a zombie until I can help cure you?

Key: *hears this while she makes sure Riolu can move around okay, and is very much upset by what she hears...* ...
