Iratus: *stays with his lost parent, hugging his body, muttering apologies to it over and over again*

Lucifer: *dead*

Sarah: ... *goes inside with everyone else*

Claire: *stays with Iratus, refusing to leave him, trying her best to console him* ...

Iratus: (Wh-why... wh-why did he...?? And I KILLED HIM...!!)

Lucifer: *dead*

Claire: It wasn't you, Iratus, shhh... Lucifer killed himself... it wasn't your fault...

Iratus: *he continues to sob* (B-but he's GONE...! Gone FOREVER...!!)

Lucifer: *dead*

Claire: *continues to stroke his fur* I know, Ira... I know... I'm sorry...

Iratus: *he finally lets go of the body on to turn and hug his mother tightly, still sobbing*

Lucifer: *dead*

Claire: *hugs him back just as tightly, stroking his fur* shhh... we'll be okay, shh....

Iratus: *he sobs and sobs until he can no longer do so* (W-we should... should go back to the s-stronghold...)

Claire: *nods* Alright... come on. *heads towards the teleporters*

Iratus: *takes Lucifer's body and walks with his mother to the teleporter into the stronghold*

Sam: *he doesn't enter his room right away - he leans against the wall in the hallway, pondering what has happened on the Blank Space*

Claire: *walks with Iratus to the medical room*

Sarah: *is heading back to her room. She spots Sam, and immediately feels that sadness coming on. She looks away and keeps walking*

Iratus: *brings the body into the medical room and puts it on a bed*

Iratus: Wh-wait - Father, what -?

Lucifer: *quietly* ... I'm fine, Iratus...

Iratus: D8> ?? *he looks at his mother (though avoids her eyes for obvious reasons)*

Everyone: *heads to the teleporter*

Claire: *shakes her head, Lucifer's command echoing in her subconscious* He'll be fine, Iratus... come on, let's go out. <:/

Iratus: (B-but...!)

Voice: TELEPORTER ACTIVATED, PLEASE STEP FORWARD.

Everyone: *does*

Iratus: *as soon as he does, he falls into a trance*

Lucifer: *watches him do so and slowly approaches him*

Claire: *starts defending herself, unaware of what Lucifer was doing*

Lucifer: *he stands in font of Iratus now, glances back at Claire. He speaks to the demon* ... I'm so sorry, Iratus... I'm sorry I couldn't be the father you wanted me to be... I'm sorry for hurting you, emotionally AND physically...

Claire: *spots Lucifer talking to Iratus and immediately worries--what was he DOING?*

Lucifer: ... I wasn't good enough for you... so now you can have the honor of killing me... kill me, Iratus. Kill me... son...

Iratus: *suddenly snarls at Lucifer and chomps down HARD on his shoulder, his bite large and powerful enough to pierce his chest and puncture a lung*

Lucifer: NRAAUUGH...!!

Claire: !!! *suddenly realizes what Lucifer's done, and rushes over to try to stop him, but she knows it's a futile attempt--she wouldn't be able to stop him no matter how she tried* Lucifer, stop!! D8>

Lucifer: *he doesn't let Iratus stop*

Iratus: *he quickly snaps out of it, his abilities being stronger than his father's. Tasting his blood and flesh, Iratus immediately lets go of his father, crying out in shock and despair* (FATHER!!) D8>

Sam: *notices this* D: ??

Lucifer: *he falls onto the ground, too weak to support himself. He's still alive, but dying*

Sarah: *also sees this. She doesn't really seem to care until she realizes what he did--and how it was almost exactly like how she offed herself before* D:...

Claire: *kneels down next to him (why would he do that, why would he do that??) and looks him over, trying to see if there was any way to save him, but... he's too far gone* ...

Sam: ... He's the last person I thought would ever... D:

Iratus: (Oh no oh no oh no, no no Father don't...!) D8>

Lucifer: *weakly* ... I'm sorry for everything Claire... how horrible I was, how many horrible things I've done... I'm sorry for all of it...

Sarah: *agrees with him, but she was more worried about how Iratus was feeling* ...

Claire: *shakes her head* Why... You didn't have to do this, Lucifer...

Sam: D: ...

Iratus: *sobbing, panicked and stricken with guilt and grief*

Lucifer: ... Of course I did... no one likes me, anyway... but I guess that's my own fault... but Claire... thank you... thank you, anyway... you taught me humility... and... and how to love...

Sarah: ...

Claire: *grits her teeth, trying her hardest to not cry. she puts a hand on Iratus' neck, stroking his fur, trying to console him, and to calm herself* You could have done that on your own... i-if you had tried a little harder...

Sam: Jeez... D:

Iratus: *shivers and sobs*

Lucifer: ... Could have... and... failed... but I still love you... Claire... still love you... *he gives her a rare sort of something - a sweet, meaningful smile. He has never given her such a thing since Iratus brainwashed him into being good. He smiles like that at her for as long as he can before he dies*

Sarah: *feels a pang of sympathy for Iratus and Claire, and feels horrible about leaving Sam and her parents in the same way* ....

Claire: *can't stop herself from shedding a few tears. She can't help but feel at least partly respoonsible for this--and now, for better or worse, Iratus was left without a father* ...

THE NEXT MORNING

Iratus: *quickly wakes up and gets out of bed, ready to talk to his father* D8

Claire: *wakes up and quickly gets ready. She didn't really want to talk to Lucifer, but she will for Iratus' sake*

Iratus: *he runs out with his mother*

Lucifer: *now that he is mortal, he needs to sleep - and sleep was what he had none of last night. He leans against a wall, looking exhausted, disheveled, and more depressed than yesterday - overall, completely awful*

Iratus: (Father...!) D:>

Claire: *can't help but notice his appearance, and feels a bit guilty, wondering if she had DONE anything to push him this close to the edge* ...Lucifer... We know what you're planning to do... D:>

Lucifer: ... Knowing won't stop me... if this was the creators's plan all along, it worked... I give up...

Iratus: *he doesn't know what to say, but he's desperate to stop his father from ending his life* D8>

Claire: *seeing Iratus' expression, she forces herself to try harder* We could talk to the creators, maybe we could make them change their minds...! D:>

Lucifer: ... Iratus, Claire... please come here...

Iratus: D:> *he approaches his father*

Claire: *hesitates, but she approaches Lucifer with Iratus*

Lucifer: *as soon as they're close enough, he grabs their heads*

Iratus: !! *he goes blank* ...

Claire: !! ... *goes blank*

Lucifer: Iratus, on the Blank Space, you will fall into this trance again and wait for further instructions.

Iratus: (I will fall into a trance... on the Blank Space...)

Lucifer: I'm going to be fine, Claire. You don't need to talk to me.

Claire: I don't need to talk to you...

Lucifer: ... ... Iratus, stay in your trance until I tell you to stop.

Iratus: *nods slowly*

Lucifer: *lets go of Iratus, moves his hand on Claire to the back of her head, then hugs her tightly, trying to hold back the tears. He can't live anymore. Not when he can't have her*

Claire: *simply stands there, still in a trance*

Lucifer: *still hugging her* ... Did you ever once feel real love for me, Claire?

Iratus: ...

Claire: ...once...

Lucifer: ... Once?

Iratus: ...

Claire: *nods once* ...

Iratus: (M-Mother, we can't just let him kill himself!) D8>

Claire: If he really wants to do this, we won't be able to stop him. He could simply just tell us to step aside and we wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING...

Iratus: *he's shivering as panic and anxiety takes over* (I really don't like this, Mother... I really really don't like this... I don't care if he hates me, he's my father and I love him and and and I don't want him to kill himself...!) DDDD8>

Claire: *puts her hands on either side of his face* Ira, shh, shhhh... we'll figure something out, okay? D:>

Iratus: (And what if we DON'T?? He'll be gone forever...!!)

Claire: We'll just have to do our best, then... If the creators want him gone, I don't know how much we can do. <:(

Iratus: (Wh-why couldn't he just be a good person...?? What was so hard about that...?? Th-then he wouldn't be trying to kill himself and everything would be better...!!)

Claire: It's harder than you think, Ira...

Iratus: *sobs, unable to understand - unable to COMPREHEND in his young mind why things are the way they are. He doesn't care that his mother doesn't like his father. He doesn't care that his father hates HIM. He doesn't care about ANY of that - he just doesn't want his father to die. Even after everything, he still believes in him*

Claire: Shhh... *rubs his cheek with her thumb, bringing him closer and resting her forehead against his* shhhh... come on, don't cry, that won't do any good...

Iratus: *he hugs her, sobbing* (...I-I'm scared...)

Claire: *hugs him around his neck* shh, you don't have to be... We'll go talk to your dad tomorrow and see if we can talk him out of it. Do you want to do that?

Iratus: *sniffling* (Y-y-yes... I d-do...) *he lets go of his mother*

Claire: *kisses Iratus' forehead, then lets go of him* I say we get some sleep now... we're going to need it.

Iratus: (...O-Okay...) *he moves over and climbs onto the bed, curling up on and and closing his eyes, desperately trying to sleep*

Claire: *gets into bed next to him, stroking his fur to try to calm him, trying to stay awake until she was sure he was asleep*

Iratus: *he shivers for a while, fearful of losing his father... but eventually, exhaustion wins out and doesn't even realize it when he falls asleep*

Claire: *waits until she's absolutely sure Iratus is asleep before she dozes off as well, now more worried about Lucifer than she thought she would be*

Iratus: ... (I'm going to go to bed - Mother is probably worrying by now... goodnight, Sarah...) <:/

Sarah: Goodnight, Iratus... <:/ *heads back to her own room, alone once again*

Claire: *is sitting on the edge of the bed when he comes in, waiting* !! ... Iratus, come here.

Claire: *waits for him to be in front of her, and sighs* ...Why did you do that, Iratus?

Iratus: *even when he speaks telepathically, he's quiet* (I'm sorry, Mother... I just wanted a real father... I thought I could fix that...)

Claire: Trying to bend people against their will isn't usually the best thing to do, Ira... I know you were trying to help, but you have to stop and think before you try to "fix" something...

Claire: *nods, her expression softening a bit in her relief*

Zorua: ... *looks around to make sure no one's looking, and turns back into her fox form, scampering over to Iratus and poking his leg* (Can I sit on your shoulder?)

Jacob: *works on removing the bullet from Lucifer's side, taking off his shirt so he can clearly cut around where the bullet is* I will never understand your fascination - hell, INFATUATION - with this monster. >:/

Claire: *glares at Jacob* There's good in him, you just haven't gotten to see it.

Jacob: Claire, you can claim this demon has some amount of good in him - and that's all fine and dandy, but believe me, it's far from the truth. Trusting him, trying to teach him to be good... that's like trying to domesticate a wild wolverine.
