This chapter has one of the most prosaically hysterical lines Iâve ever seen. For some odd reason, Iris saying, ââ¦Just a small bat,â is absurdly funny to me. I couldnât tell you why (maybe because itâs 11:29 at night ^.^; ) but it really is.And no, I donât think this is really a high lemon storyâ¦and yes, I really like the tattoos ^.^
The funny part is, while writing that last sentence, I accidentally put âbatâ instead of âtattoos.â See what that line did to me?! ^.^

Andâ¦you definitely reached 20 ^.^I sympathize with the whole spider thing. I donât kill spiders either. Not sure Iâd let them on my hand (Iâm not quite trusting enough --.--) but I take great pains not to kill them. Iâll spend ten minutes trying to coax a spider out of the shower before I use it.

And not long after my whole statement about Iris not being helpless, look what we see ^.^; Heâs REALLY not helpless. He could have torn Valkyre limb from limb when the angel came to kill him, had he wanted to. But that, of course, is the clincher. He doesnât want to. First he didnât care, and now I think he might really not want to.You know, once Iâm done with this I think I might have to read it again. Knowing the characters better at the end, Iâm going to have to go back again and see the things I missed the first time. Like Iris being able to shred Valkyre without breaking a sweat.
Interesting. This just keeps getting more and more interesting.

Ohhhhâ¦tattoos⦠:bliss, although rather naughtier bliss than the last one: I LOVE tattoos. Well, some tattoos, anyways. Aesthetic ones. And Valkyreâs sound aesthetic. VERY aestheticâ¦I think getting these two characters beyond the âokay, I WONâT stab you on contactâ relationship is a huge step, so Iâd say this chapter actually accomplished a lot. Plus it is one of those scenes that show intense sensuality in a perfectly innocent act. For some reason, I like that a lot better than when itâs outright; thereâs something appealing about the innocuousness of it. Or the subtlety. Or the delicacy.
I have no idea what Iâm saying. Iâll stop now.

Oh, good. Iris isnât the annoying type who just stands there and lets himself be captured. Guy or girl, I always hate that. Thatâs one of the things I like about Coletteâshe actually fights back. She still gets kidnapped a few times, but she fights back. Sheâs not helpless. Iris is not helpless.Can you say âoff-topicâ? Sorry ^.^; Really nice action sequence here. I loved the description of the lamiaâit was masterly, particularly the description of her tail. ââ¦curling away in soft loops like the trail of a river on flat plains.â Ah, imagery⦠:bliss:

I think it works well. I can understand Valkyreâs fascination with Irisâand that feeling Iris had when Valkyre touched him helps explain his side as well. Theyâre both oddly lonely, and I think they can feel it in each otherâ¦You know, until this chapter it never occurred to me they had long hair? What is wrong with me? I usually always assume long hair unless the author (ess) says otherwise --.--
My curiosity is screaming at me to figure out what the hell is going on, so Iâd better humor itâ¦

You know, the amethyst-eyes part reminds me of Tsuzuki, from Yami no Matsuei/ Descendants of Darkness. Except Valkyre isnât much like Tsuzukiâ¦well, hopefully heâs as hot as Tsuzuki, but he doesnât act like Tsuzuki ^.^You misjudge yourself. You donât have vague dialogue, you have philosophical dialogue. Your dialogue wanders through the mist-shrouded backroads of the abstract and considers broken statues of confusion and thought, caring far more about the way it gets to its destination and how much it can see along the way than how fast it does it. Granted, that drives some people (like my mom) nuts. But me, personally? I like it. It makes me think. Why do I live? What do I want to know? What am I, really?
Okay, curiosity trying to bite me nowâ¦Iâll shut up and keep reading.
And what on earth was going on with Iris or the weird thing in THIS one? One resurrecting, the other lying to rest. Somehow I have the feeling things will convolute further before they become clear.
