this is a very good tutorial. theres three pages to it, but the first one deals with lineart. it really helped my understand Gimp. befor, i was doing everything the hard way, but this shows you an easy way of doing it. it shows you how to use the path tool and such for lineart.

thanx :) you should be praising urself tho, u did the lineart :D
I opened it up in Gimp first. before you do anything, create a 'white' layer and call it background. put it underneath the dog layer. then i created a new transparant layer on the very top and called it lineart. clikin on the layer with the dog, i turned the opacity down, so it faded out to a light gray. then, i went back onto the lineart layer, and traced over it in black. when i was done, i could then just delete the original dog picture.
