AmadeusI currently live in the dorms at the Air Force Base that I'm stationed at, and they won't let us have anything like that. So I have to wait till they allow me to move off-base before I can start doing buying things like swords.

Amadeusno I didn't actually get my first real sword till I was like 14 cause my parents where like yours they didn't like them and they didn't know why I kept practicing (they still don't but they've learned to accept it as something I like to do plus it's a great cardio workout). Right now I have about three but they're all back home and unfortunately they're made of stainless steel (worthless in a sparring match but great if you don't plan on hitting anything). Anyways they're all back in Texas cause they don't allow swords on-base, but I hope to start a collection once I get off-base ^_^

AmadeusYeah I've been messing with swords since I was about three or so, but didn't really get into it till like 5th-6th grade. I've never been in any classes due to my parents didn't like any of the Martial Arts instructors in the area and lack of sword practitioners in my part of Texas. So I had to practice by reading books, watching other people when they show a special on swords or a competition, and trying different things out for myself. I try to practice a little of all styles both European and Eastern, and my own mix-match style. ^_^
