Actually, it's not that hard to draw the dragon scales at all. I think the key is to not think of them as little individual scales, but rather as a solid surface with a repeating texture on it. I genreally start at the head and "shingle" the dragon with row after row of little mini 'u' (or 'v') shapes, and after completing a general area (say, the entire head, or neck, or torso, an arm, tail, etc.), I go back and complete the shading on top of the pattern. This way I can focus on one segment at a time, and I don't have to clobber the whole thing at once.NOXX on April 20, 2005, 4:41:28 PM
