Actually, you can remove offensive comments from your userpage -- admins will still be able to look it up.

Trust me, you weren't the only one who noticed, there were like three members reporting him at about the same time.

Don't worry about the other guy -- you're not the only one who's noticed his behavior, so he's received a more stern warning (and likely shouldn't be a problem again).

Just remember, the only person's behavior you can control is your own.
