i dunno how it happened, but Nate and Chloe fell in a pit and the ceiling closed over them and Nate goes "well, it can't get any worse, right?" and then spikes came out and the ceiling slowly started coming down, and apparently you had to throw a grenade at these gears to get it to stop moving, but... dad didn't figure that out fast enough. when the spikes are right on top of you, they start screaming, the screen blacks out, and you just hear the ceiling CRUSH them gruesomely....
