Mikaela: *is only saddened further by this... she doesn't say anything* ...

Altodd: Wh-what? Why're you suddenly so quiet? D:>

Mikaela: Nothing... I'm just a bit tired. *is obviously lying*

Altodd: *can tell* Okay, so what's really wrong? <:/

Mikaela: ...S'not important, okay?

Altodd: Did I make you mad?? D:>

Mikaela: *shakes her head* No... *is answering honestly. she was just a bit sad*

Altodd: ... Then... then just tell me what's wrong... <:/

Mikaela: *shakes her head* It's really not important...

Altodd: ... Okay... <:/ *he looks away from Mikaela, wondering if Shidako... is HAPPIER without him...*

Mikaela: *looks down, wondering if he really DOES love her... he sounded so hurt by the thought of Shidako moving on that... well, she didn't know what to think* ...

Altodd: *on the bed, he brings his knees up to his chest, and rests his head on his knees. He sighs* ...

Mikaela: ... I-I think we should get some rest... we might have work to do tomorrow...

Altodd: ... Alright... *he climbs into the bed, resting his head on the pillow* ...

Mikaela: *gets into bed next to him, and snuggles close to him. would he respond?*

Altodd: *it takes all his willpower to not eat the meat like an animal*

Mikaela: *finishes up within a few minutes, and waits for Altodd* ...

Altodd: *finishes* Ah... okay, I guess we'll just... head back, then? :/

Mikaela: Yup... *wipes her claws on the grass, then gets up and looks over at the fire--it was nearly burnt out, so it was nothing to worry about. she starts heading back*

Altodd: *follows behind her until they reach the city again*

Soldiers and Guards: *trying to move the massive dragon body*

Mikaela: *watches them* ...Do you think we should help?

Altodd: ... I think they can handle it... I mean, we KILLED that dragon, anyway... <:/

Mikaela: Good point... back to the tavern, then?

Altodd: I guess so, yeah. <:P *he walks to the tavern with Mikaela, entering their room* ... I wonder where the others are...

Mikaela: *locks the room behind her* I'm not sure... That freaky hooded guy said something about them going to Life City...

Altodd: He could have been lying... who knows with people like him? <:/

Mikaela: Good point... But that's really all we have to go off of... :/

Altodd: Ugh, right... but can we just abandon our job here to go look for them? <:/

Mikaela: I don't know... Now that you mention it, leaving like that might not be a very good idea either... XC

Altodd: Damnit... well... if they somehow feel inclined to visit Death City...

Mikaela: We could see them then... *sighs* ...I really think it's best if we stay here. Even if we CAN somehow leave, we have no idea where we're going....

Altodd: ... Yeah... I just hate to think how worried Shidako must be... <:(

Mikaela: *is a bit sad to hear this* ...Mmh... I'm sure she's fine... She has everyone else, right? <:(

Altodd: *didn't know this* Wh-whah?? D8>

Mikaela: Huh? OH! *facepalms* Jeez, you don't know... everyone else that got out was traveling together... They um... they all looked like they were doing okay.. *mumbles* 'cept for Todd...

Altodd: ^^ *he finishes up his meat slab, then scratches his back again* ... My back's being very itchy today...

Mikaela: That's weird... maybe we can take a look at it when we get back. *notices he's done eating* Do you want any more?

Altodd: YES PLEASE. I'm really really REALLY REALLY hungry. O___O *scratches his chest*

Mikaela: Hah, okay... XD; *holds the stick between her teeth, and cuts out a bigger piece of meat for Altodd, and hands it to him* 'ere y'guh. *takes the stick out of her mouth* :P

Altodd: *like a wild animal, he takes it and rips it to shreds with his teeth, that growling starting up again*

Mikaela: ... >_< ... Hey, Altodd? Could you maybe um... quiet down a bit? <:/

Altodd: ... I wasn't saying anything... D:

Mikaela: ...You're eating kind of loud. ^^;

Altodd: Oh, sorry... I, uh... didn't realize... <////<;

Mikaela: It's okay, I get why. ^^; It's just a bit distracting, that's all. >.>;

Altodd: ... Sometimes I can't really help it... it's just natural. >__>; *scratches his arm*

Mikaela: Like I said, I get it. ^^; *bites* ...

Altodd: *tries eating his meat quietly* >____>;

Mikaela: *finishes her piece, and cuts out a smaller one, holding that over the fire* ....

Altodd: *He finishes his meat, not full, but satisfied* That was good... deer is good.

Mikaela: Mhmm. Want more? There's still a ton left, and I dunno if we can carry it back with us...

Altodd: Uhh... sure, I'll have a little more... wouldn't want to waste it. Next time we'll bring a bag or something. <:/

Mikaela: Yup. We can buy one on the way back. *cuts out another piece for Altodd, then goes back to eating hers*

Altodd: Alright - *he starts doing so*

Mikaela: *starts cutting up and skinning the thing with her claws* ....ick, ick, ick...

Altodd: You'll get used to it, I think. *nearly done building the fire*

Mikaela: I sure hope so. D; *starts cutting up the pieces of meat* ..ugh, remind me to roll up my sleeves next time... thank god this fabric is dark. XC

Altodd: I can do the skinning cutting next time... <:P *he finishes building the fire, rubbing two sticks together to light it*

Mikaela: Awesome. Okay--*rips down a branch from the closest tree, takes the leaves off it, and spears a piece of meat with it, handing it over to Altodd* Heeere you go.

Altodd: This is gonna be yours, you know... I... actually really liked it when I ate that meat raw. <:P *starts cooking the venison*

Mikaela: Oh. Right. Well then--*cuts out another piece of meat, and holds it out to him* You can have this, i'll cook my own. <:P

Altodd: ^^; *hands Key the piece of meat on the stick, which was already at the beginnings of cooking. He takes the raw meat and begins devouring it*

Mikaela: *holds the stuck over the fire* Just let me know if you want more. ^^;

Altodd: nods to Mikaela, then continues tearing apart the raw meat with his teeth, making animal-like growling noises as he does so*

Mikaela: *watches him for a few moments before sighing to herself, flipping the stick to cook the meat on the other side* ...

Altodd: *pauses in his devouring of the meat, blood dribbling down his chin* Is something wrong? <:/

Mikaela: Not really, no... You've got a little something on your... *points to her chin*

Altodd: ? :/ *he takes off his bracer to wipe his chin* Oh, heh... well, it IS raw... *he continues eating the meat*

Mikaela: Obviously.... *holds the meat over the fire for a little while longer, before pulling it out and blowing on it for a little bit. she then takes a bite out of it* ...huh.

Altodd: What's the "huh" for? .__.

Mikaela: I dunno. Tastes better than I thought it would. Didn't really have much time to think about it last time. <:P *takes another bite*

Altodd: Uh... I like the idea of being armored... let's go back to the tavern and change, first. D;

Mikaela: Okay. ^^; *they head back to the tavern, and enter their room. she quickly takes out her new clothes and changes*

Altodd: *he doe the same, putting on his clothes, his boots, and the furred, gloved bracers that came with the outfit. In the fantasy-like apparel, Altodd, like his counterpart, looks quite handsome*

Mikaela: *catches herself staring at him for a few moments. she herself doesn't look too shabby in her outfit either--if anything, it helped her look a lot less skeletal* ... :)

Altodd: *he wraps his scarf around his neck, then puts his hood up, smiling at her. He likes how Mikaela looks in her outfit* Alright, let's go. :)

Mikeala: Right. :) *heads out with him, out of the city, back into the forest* ...okay... what do we want for lunch...?

Altodd: Anything we can catch? ^^;

Mikaela: That works. *walks a bit farther into the forest, then stops to listen* ..........

Altodd: *he crouches, trying to be inconspicuous*

Mikaela: *waits* ......! *looks to her left after hearing a sound* ... *very quietly* There's something over there...

Altodd: *nods to Mikaela and sneaks a bit closer, watching carefully how heavy he makes his footsteps*

Mikaela: *points in the direction she heard the sound* Over there... sounds like a deer or something... *creeps a bit closer to it* ...

Altodd: *quietly sneaks forward until he sees the deer. He glances at Mikaela*

Mikaela: *nods slightly, then lunges at the deer, claws first, hoping to kill it in one shot*

Deer: !! *scampers off, but not before one of its hind legs is sliced, and it ends up limping*

Altodd: !!! Get it!

Mikaela: ! *whirls around and tries again, this time slashing the deer's throat, killing it* Got it.

Altodd: Oh good... I wish we brought a bag of some kind... I guess we'll just have to eat it here. :/ *he scratches his back. It feels strangely itchy*

Mikaela: Yup... could you start making a fire? I'll skin this thing... ick. D;

Bibentus: Good. And here - a token of my gratitude. *he hands Altodd a wrapped up pouch* There's a hundred silver in that pouch. Good for things like food and clothing. Spend it wisely. Now begone.

Altodd: *nods* R-right! *he quickly walks out of the tower with Mikaela, back onto the streets* H-holy... c-can you believe that just happened?

Mikaela: Nope. o___o;;; But hey, at least we have a job...? <:D;

Altodd: Y-yes... yes! Okay, s-so... so this is totally a good thing! D: Here, Mikaela, you take this bag of silver - I am this close to chucking it somewhere far away. D8

Mikaela: Oh! *takes it* Silver. Werewolf. Right. XP Okay, we need to find some place that sells clothes. D:

Altodd: I don't think we'll have to search far... I mean, these undead creatures DO wear clothes. Oh! *points* There's a clothing store.

Mikaela: Perfect, okay. IIIIIIn we go. *goes into the store with Altodd*

Altodd: *enters the store with Mikaela*

Store: *has a lot of armor and furred armor and things*

Altodd: Wow... we really could afford stuff here - lookit, the most expensive one I see in here is five silver, and it looks REALLY nice... D: that vampire guy really did pay us a buttload...

Mikaela: Aaand, he's going to be paying us MORE... Jeez... D: Well, start looking around and grab whatever you want, I guess. o___o;;

Altodd: Eyup. .____. *he looks around until he finds a hooded long coat with a fur short cape sewn to it. It comes with a steel breastplate. He watches it with thick sweatpants and fur boots. All of this costs a total of seven silver* :)

Key: *picks out an outfit for herself, which comes out to only eight silver. she looks around for Altodd* All done?

Altodd: Yep. Can you... uh... handle the money? ^^;

Key: Of course. <:P *goes up to the shopkeeper, and pays him the fifteen silver* ^^

Altodd: *takes the bag of clothes, walking out of the store with Mikaela* ... So... uh... is there any food we can actually eat here? <:/

Key: I actually have no clue... I dunno what the undead eat, so uh...

Altodd: *he looks into a cafe window* ... rotten meats, poisonous plants, brains, blood... I think we're gonna have to hunt our own stuff. D;

Key: Allllllllrighty then. D; Uh, you wanna go change first, or do you just wanna go now?

Altodd: That thing's what's killing the most people... >:/ Come on! *he runs off to the dragon*

Umbra: *a few more start to appear and attack the dragon*

Dragon: *continues trying to throw them off*

Mikaela: !! Careful! D:> *runs after him, not quite sure where to attack the beast--would her claws even do anything to it?*

Altodd: *he keeps running at the dragon, until he reaches it* D8<

Dragon: *turns it's head to Altodd and snaps it's jaws at him*

Altodd: *smacks the dragon away with his sword*

Umbra: *try to kill it*

Bibentus: *watches all this happening from his tower* ...

Key: *reaches the dragon, and attacks it from the opposite side swiping at it with her claws, trying to draw attention away from Altodd* D:<

Altodd: *continues cutting the dragon, trying to find a clear shot at its head* D:<

Dragon: *turns to Mikaela, rearing its head back to breathe fire at her*

Altodd: K - MIKAELA!! D8

Umbra: *SLASH AT THE DRAGON'S HEAD*

Bibentus: *continues to watch*

Mikaela: *suddenly flashes back to when she was a ghost--to when her wings were burnt right off by a burst of fire from Mikenno. She remembers how much it HURT, even though she was already DEAD. she like a deer in headlights* D8 ...

Altodd: *sprints over to Mikaela and shoves her out of the way, falling down on top of her, pressing her to the floor*

Dragon: *breathes its fire, hitting nothing but a stone wall. The flames tickle Altodd's backside as he keeps Mikaela down. Then the flames cease*

Altodd: *a wolfish rage in his eyes, he quickly approaches the dragon's head, quickly sneaking under it. He takes his sword and shoves it upwards with as much force as he can muster. The sword easily cuts through the dragon's soft underside, piercing through its jaw and into its brain*

Dragon: !!!! *it crumples, dead*

Mikaela: *she snaps out of her shock a few moments after Altodd charges at the dragon again--she looks up in time to watch him slay it* ... O___________O

Altodd: *he looks at the dead dragon for a few seconds before wiping the sweat and ash off his face. He looks over at Mikaela* You okay? D:>

meanwhile

Bibentus: *to one of his guards in the tower with him* ... Bring those two to me.

Soldier: *bows* Yes, my lord. *he then leaves*

Mikaela: *gets up, and dusts herself off* Y-Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine... just panicked for a moment...

Altodd: Jesus, that scared me... if I was a second late, that dragon would have killed you... D8>

Guards: *approach Altodd and Mikaela*

One Guard: Follow us, please. Lord Bibentus would like to see you two.

Altodd: *eyes Mikaela* >__>;

Mikaela: *gives Altodd a nervous look, but nods. they kind of had to*

Guards: *lead Altodd and Mikaela to Bibentus's tower*

In Bibentus's Room

Bibentus: Ah! There you are. Quite talented. took out half of the Air City attack, including the dragon. Where on earth did you two learn to fight?

Altodd: ... Ah... well... uh... .___.;

Mikaela: *tries to come up with a plausible story--she merely ends up skewing the truth* We were, um... enslaved. Our masters forced us to fight every day. We escaped. >_>

Bibentus: Well! I haven't seen such combat in CENTURIES! So, here's my proposition for you two... I will pay you large sums of money if you fight for me.

Altodd: ! W-well then! U-uh, Mikaela, what do you think? O___O;

Mikaela: Ah--Um, I don't know, uh... I guess we need the money... <___<;

Altodd: O-Okay then, uh... we'll fight for you. ._____.;

Bibentus: Good. Oh, and please... keep your lycanthropy in check while in my city.

Altodd: H-HOW DO YOU KNOW I'M A - ??

Bibentus: Oh please. I could smell your blood all the way from my tower. Disgusting. Not you. Just... your blood...

Mikaela: *has to keep herself from saying "i told you so"* We'll make sure to do that, sir.

Mikaela: *shakes her head* We stick out like a sore thumb.

Altodd: Ah... Right... but we don't even have any MONEY...

Mikaela: Mh... yeah... we'll have to see if we can find a job somewhere, then... *mumbles* Gonna have to pay for this room, too...

Altodd: Right... I'm sure there's work to do, what, with a war apparently going on...

Mikaela: Right... *sighs* I wish we didn't have to... this bed is comfy... XC

Altodd: I know... but hey, if we work, we can continue sleeping in it. <:P *he gets out of bed, getting dressed*

Mikaela: Hah... good point. *follows him out, and also gets ready* ...Wonder where we should start looking...

Altodd: *finishes getting dressed. He shrugs* I don't know... I have no idea what dead things need help with... guh... maybe I can be the vampire-lord-person's personal blood bank... selling myself out for money... literally... DX

Mikaela: I really really really do NOT like this idea. D:> We can just ask around or something, we don't need to resort to something THAT drastic... *lowers her voice* A-and besides, don't vampires hate werewolves? D;

Altodd: I don't know how it is in this world... <:/ But okay, let's, uh... let's go. *he walks out with Mikaela, looking around for some work with her*

Someone: *suddenly screams -* WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!

*an uproar follows as innocent undead beings scramble around for safety, undead soldiers gathering around in defensive positions*

*flying creatures of all sorts swoop down, attacking the city*

Dragon: GRAAOORRHH!! *breathes fire, burning a group of zombies*

Altodd: D8 !!

Mikaela: !!!!!!!!! *grabs Altodd and pulls him into an alleyway to hide* The timing on this couldn't get any worse. DX

Altodd: We've gotta help them! D:>

Griffins: SCREEEEEE!! *swoop down and attack citizens*

Manticores: *with roars, they attack soldiers*

Dragon: *keeps breathing its fire*

Mikaela: *groans* And here I thought we were done fighting... DX Fine, let's get out there, then! *leaves the alleyway, watching the sky, waiting for something to come close enough*

Altodd: *he runs out after Mikaela, picking up a sword from a fallen soldier*

Umbra: *two appear beside him with a hiss*

Harpies: *fly down at Altodd and Mikaela with a screech*

Altodd: *manages to skillfully stab an incoming bird-woman*

Umbra: *they leap at some others*

Key: *slashes at them when they get close, easily tearing them open*

Manticore: *lands nearby, and roars at them before charging*

Altodd: !! *he moves aside a bit, leaning down and swiping his sword, cutting the manticore's legs*

Umbra: *run and start attacking the dragon*

Dragon: *roars in pain, shaking its head, trying to get them off*

Manticore: !!? *falls, yelping in surprise and then pain*

Key: *drives her claws through its head to finish it off, then looks over at the dragon* ...Jeez...

Altodd: *he drifts off to sleep, a small smile on his face*

Mikaela: *stays there the entire night, snuggled against him, enjoying this rare warmth...*

*it is near morning when an Umbra manifests itself in the room, climbs onto the bed, and stares over Alrodd and Key - now Mikaela*

Altodd: *asleep*

Mikaela: *even with her eyes closed, she could tell something was off. she looks up, and suppresses a gasp when she sees the Umbra looming over them, not wanting to wake Altodd up unless it was completely necessary* ....

Umbra: *it gently uses it's sharp, clawed finger to brush some hair out of Mikaela's face* ...Ssssss...

Altodd: *asleep*

Mikaela: *stares at it, quite confused. she had never seen such... docile behavior from an Umbra before.....* ...

Umbra: *it seems almost afraid to touch Mikaela again* ... sss...

Altodd: *waking up* Mff...

Umbra: !! *it quickly fades away*

Altodd: *he drowsily opens his eyes, smiling sleepily at Mikaela* ... G'morning...

Mikaela: Good morning... *wonders whether she should ask about the umbra... no, it wasn't that important*

Altodd: ... Is something wrong...? <:/

Mikaela: Naw, I'm fine, just spacing out a bit... Did you sleep okay?

Altodd: ... Really well, actually... the best sleep I've had in a while... <:)

Mikaela: *nuzzles him* Well, I'm glad I could help...

Altodd: All you need to do is be there... then sleeping is a hundred times better...

Mikaela: ... <:) *nuzzles him some more, and kisses him. hearing that made her so unbelievably happy, not even SHE could believe it*

Altodd: *he kisses her back,, nuzzling her. He then starts rubbing her back, grateful for her company* <:)

Mikaela: *sighs, relaxing, content. she could stay there all day...*

Altodd: *rubs her back* ... So... what do we have to do today?

Mikaela: *closes her eyes* Mn... we have to go find food, first of all... and um... and we need to get new clothes.

Altodd: *steps inside after Key, closing the door behind them* ... Key... if I may ask... what's your full name? <:/

Key: *looks at him, confused, then realizes that she never told him... she puts the key down on a small table by the bed, and answers him* ...It's Mikaela. Mikaela Dawson.

Altodd: *he smiles shyly at her* ... It's a pretty name... how come I've never heard it before? <:)

Key: *smiles back, blushing a bit* Well... no one ever asked.

Altodd: I can call you "Mikaela" more often... if you want...

Mikaela: *smiles a bit more widely* ...You can. If you want to. It's... a bit of a mouthful, though. ^^;

Altodd: Only one more syllable than "Altodd"... and only two more than "Key". I think it's fine. <:)

Mikaela: Okay. <:) *suppresses a yawn* Oops... heh... wanna try getting some rest? We've got things to do tomorrow.

Altodd: M'kay... *he gets into the bed, curling up a bit*

Mikaela: *smiles warmly, and flips off the light before getting into bed with Altodd. no, she couldn't sleep, but that wasn't about to stop her from spending some time with him...*

Altodd: *he smiles at her when she joins him, putting an arm over her, nuzzling her shoulder*

Mikaela: *combs her claws through his hair, kissing the top of his head* ... <3

Altodd: *he looks up and kisses her back on the lips*

Mikaela: *kisses him back, smiling a bit*

Altodd: *he then cuddles with her, snuggling with her... he likes to cuddle. He likes that warm feeling*

Mikaela: *happily cuddles with him, hugging him close. she briefly wonders if she felt warm to him, but after a little while, everything just felt so warm and fuzzy that she really didn't think it mattered*
