The main reason for a rule against multiple accounts is simply that (not considering errors or bugs) they are not necessary to begin with, and constantly transferring over to a new name causes confusion as to who is who. In addition, we've had to deal with a share of users in the past who, after being banned, sign up under a different name to continue the behavior which led to their banning in the first place. (infamous example: "Stacey English" has been banned from FAC at least 20 times.)
Anyway. If you are receiving any error messages whatsoever you need to report them so we can look into the error and determine what caused it. Most errors and problems are caused by something on the FAC server side of things; there are relatively few errors which are actually "your" fault.
Many login-related issues are caused by cookie problems, which are difficult to diagnose because they involve both the server-side (FAC) and the client-side ("you").
