When I was writing it, I was trying to squeeze it into a small time frame, which was part of the problem. I decided I needed Yuji to show intensity somehow, but it takes a lot to get him riled up. He's more likely to sink into the shadows and brood about it. Unfortunately, that's the downside to his character- he doesn't lend himself (Or I don't lend him well, but you get what I mean) well to extreme action unless pushed there in a rash way. His love life can only do so much for his character. I think he's getting stale, actually. But at the same time, I can't altar him too severely, because then I look like an amateur who's trying to change things on a whim.
OF course, the storyline itself, now that my initial "This is awesome!" reaction from an odd late-night adrenaline surge is gone, is an irresponsible one, and not just because it doesn't fit within the fic.
Ah well. It was one of those ideas that just didn't work. Bound to hit a snag like that once in a while.

It really doesn't fit Naruto well. That was one of my concerns. I wanted to hit Yuji at primal moments, where he's not thinking. It's all adrenaline.
It would make a better standalone story where he gets the girl at the end. That's the only part that wound up half-assed, I think.
I appreciate your honesty. I'm going to delete the chapter, and hope you don't think I'm a completely disturbed madman. lol.

Well, I was hoping it would have shock value. It was supposed to clearly outline that Yuji CAN be vicious, since you don't see that side of him often. And I wanted him, just once, to completely lose it. He's so calculating and unreadable usually. I had been chain-listening to the Higurashi openings, and I had this image of Yuji walking through blood in my head. I don't know- it just kind of made sense.
Do you think I went too far? Or maybe it's in bad taste?

The story part of it will kick in later. For now, it was mostly to show that Yuji will do whatever he needs to, if backed into a corner. He's been getting his @$$ kicked the whole manga, and he's never killed. So if he was going to kill, it had to be big and for a damn good reason.
Did you like or hate any parts in particular? I've never written like that before, so I'm not sure how I did or what I did right or wrong.

Ah, damn, I screwed up. Any chance you'd let me double-post after your next chapter? I don't want to give away the surprise, but something in the story changed, and with the timeline the way it is, I need to do some altering. I don't want to resort to using a flashback, lol. You can post like normal, with the normal chapter number. I'd basically have Chapter 91.5 in there, without affecting the timeline.

No problem. I had originally planned for Yuji to just go after the girls confess to him, but I started a storyline in the last chapter I wanted to finish up. That, and it wouldn't make sense for him to just leave. He'd think that it was running away from Ryofu, and he has to stick it out a little bit.

I plan to have Yuji leave shortly after Ryofu shows up. It'll be at the end of not the next chapter, but the one following that. There's one more thing Yuji needs to do before he leaves, plus the girls need to confess to him.

That's good, because I was a fan of both systems. DW6 was more fair, though, in that you couldn't trap someone in an endless combo as easily. Not to mention the horses didn't kill everyone they touched. DW6Empires had one of the more fun solo modes, too.

You know, I might have some luck finding Ikki Tousen. If I turn up any good leads, I'll let you know. Now that Kanu is an obsession of mine (jk), I'll track the stuff down with a single-mindness, lol. Seriously though, if I have any luck I'll let you know.

I hadn't heard about DW7. The trailer for it looks damn good.
