I picked up season one at a good price. an FYE near me was going out of business, so I swooped in and snagged it. It's too bad Kanu is so scarce in that one; she the reason I wanted it. Azami is so much like her that I wanted to get ideas. The 'cool beauty' character is a fun one to write.
The manga is going to be a stone dog. I'm 0 for 3 store wise trying to find it. I want to play the game, too, but I don't have a region free Ps2, and I'm not sure the US ever saw a release.

I had no idea you were a DW fan. DW6: Empires is absolutely stellar. Huge improvement over 5.

Yuji's kind of introverted. He wouldn't even be aware if a girl liked him, as evidenced by his current behavior, when he can't figure out that 2 girls like him. He's frustrated, even when I'm the one controlling him. lol.

I think you're right. Except they both seem closer to 'shadow' at times, even though Yuji is a pretty pure individual. On a side note, he almost wound up being with Asuna in this fic. He's a sucker for pony tails and Mikos, I guess.

Yep, ol' Yuji was on the chopping block a few times. If you remember early in our coop fic, he passed the "ryouko" name onto someone else. That kid was supposed to replace him eventually. Not going to happen now, but the kid would have been interesting. Yuji and Ryofu play off each other to well for me to kill Yuji off.
Never played it, actually. I've heard good things, though.

That makes sense for Ryofu's character (and in general, really).
He really is. I keep telling myselt that I'll kill him off sometime, but I never do. He's still entertaining to me, so he gets a stay of execution. lol

The one thing I think Yuji and Ryofu have in common, besides a love for combat, is that they're both more or less loners. The only difference is Yuji's belief in loyalty (while he avoids the main group of the population, supporting in silence), while Ryofu is goal motivated.
Now, if Yuji wasn't always doing something damned stupid, he wouldn't need Sakura to bail him out all the time. I swear, the guy attracts sword wounds like nobody's business.

I tend to think of Yuji as an older guy in a younger guy's body. He's like the quiet kung fu master, lol. I thought about having his hair go gray, but that would be too similar to Ryofu- he would die it or shave it all off, first, lol. Apparently, Yuji is also petty as hell!
Azami and Sakura both compliment Yuji in different ways. Whichever ones he winds up with, it'll be an interesting four-way match when he and Ryofu clash again.
Ryofu's intensity is probably my favorite thing about him, actually. He also has Yuji beat in sheer viciousness.

Yuji would be about even with him in taijutsu, then. Yuji isn't as quick, but he has a tendency to switch his combat styles and stances as he fights, making him hard to react to. His Ninjutsu is his weak point, but that can be solved when Azami uses her wind style to enhance his fire style, or Sakura's power attacks cover him.
Azami is pretty much equally proficient at everything. Not, like, genius level- not yet. I plan to have her improve, but not to the point where's she ridiculous.

You know, I hadn't thought of that. It makes sense. I also didn't know what other types of jutsu Ryofu knew. That makes him more than match for Yuji by himself, who uses Earth and Fire Style. The only thing Yuji's got is genjutsu. Could be an interesting match-up.
In our storyline, the next thing for Yuji would be leaving to go to the Rain Village. When he comes back (this is a one chapter deal), maybe then we could get into the Azami/Ryofu thing. Or, better yet, while Yuji's away, Azami and Ryofu could get into it a little. Maybe Azami is cold to Ryofu because she knows Yuji doesn't like him. Ryofu could dislike Azami because she's ex-Akatsuki. Or Ryofu could learn the truth about Yuji and the Akatsuki, and see being friends with Azami as a way for him to make up with Yuji.
Lots of possibilties.

I had an idea I wanted to run by you. I was thinking of having Azami be able to block Ryofu's jutsu, instead of Yuji (at least at first. Otherwise, they're both screwed, lol). That would make Ryofu focus more on Azami. He takes one of two (or both paths: either he tries to kill Azami or he tries to make friends with her. Either way, it would annoy the hell out of Yuji, and give him something new to talk about with Azami. He's already accused her of being in 'Ryofu's Fanclub' so it kind of makes sense. But only if it's cool with you.
