Altodd: I'm sure he is. *He steps inside* He's not just going to give up like this.

Sarah: *shakes her head, answering him almost immediately* No. I can't... I-I don't want him to hate me.

Altodd: I don't think he could ever hate you, Sarah. <:(

Sarah: But it would make him angry. And... and now that he has the same powers I used to... making him that angry again would probably end up with me dead.

Altodd: I doubt he'd KILL you! D:>

Sarah: ...I almost killed Sam, and I wasn't even trying to...

Sarah: *doesn't move* Mhmm...

Sarah: *still feels bad for burdening him with her problems when he already had enough to deal with. now even more guilty than before, she stands watch by the door for the rest of the night*

Mia: Alrighty then... *knocks on Sarah's door*

Sarah: *answers the door after a few moments, rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes* Hmm..? Oh, hey... Mia, right?

Mia: Yup. Um, could we ask you for a favor?

Sarah: *notices Altodd standing a little behind her* Yeah, sure, what's up? <:/

Altodd: ... I need some help with... Guarding my room. The inside of it. So the other-me doesn't kill us both. <:(

Sarah: *her eyebrows shoot up as she realized what's probably happened* Yeah. Yeah, I can help you with that.

Altodd: This means a lot, Sarah. You're very kind to take up this job. <:( *He then shuffles out and leads Sarah to his room*

Sarah: *quietly shuts the door to her own room behind her as she follows him* Anything for a friend, y'know? <:/

Mia: *watches him, somehow worried that something'll happen before they even get back to his room*

Altodd: *Enters his room with Sarah and climbs back into his bed* Um... Okay, let's see if this works. <:/

Mia: ... *goes back to her own room, still a bit shaken*

Altodd: *He finds that he can't sleep. He rolls over to he's facing Sarah* ... So, uh... Todd's your dad. That's kinda cool... Right?

Mia: ...You can't tell anyone about this, okay?

Sarah: *is reminded of things she really doesn't want to be reminded of* ...I guess...

Altodd: *Nods a little* ... Okay. Go back to the others, Key. <:(

Key: ...You're SURE you'll be okay? <:(

Altodd: Key... *He gives her a tiny smile -- The best he can do for now* ... I'll be fine. Okay?

Key: Okay. I believe you. *backs out of the room* Try to get some rest, maybe... <:(

Altodd: *What little of a smile he has manages to lessen* ... I'll try. *He sits down on his bed and waits for Key to leave*

Key: <:( ... *leaves, shutting the door behind her, lingering for a moment before going back to the others*

*Late into that night*

Altodd: *He wakes up as Neo-Altodd who is still suicidal. He drags himself out of bed and out of his room. He knows exactly how he should kill himself*

Mia: *had been trying to sleep, but failing. she sighs, and sits up on the bed* ...

Blood Puppet: Mia, are you alright?

Altodd: *He walks down the hall, past Mia and Blood Puppet's room*

Mia: I can't sleep... *stands up, stretching her arms over her head, with a yawn, then lets her arms drop* I'm gonna go for a walk... I'll be back in a bit. <:/

Blood Puppet: Alright... Whatever helps. <:/

Altodd: *Starts heading up the stone stairs*

Mia: *walks out of the room, and catches a glimpse of Altodd going up the steps. her worry still lingering from earlier, she follows him quietly* ...

Altodd: *He heads up until he's high enough in the tower, then heads down the hallway on that floor. He walks until he finds a window. Looking through it, he notes how high up he is and opens it*

Mia: *catches up to him, stepping down the hallway after Altodd, and freezing as she turns a corner and sees him looking out the window. ohhh god no, he isn't really thinking of doing that...! she quietly steps closer, hoping she can get to him before he jumps*

Altodd: *He puts one foot out over the ledge and gets his head through the window, one hand holding onto the outside of the building and one holding onto the inside. He's ready to die*

Mia: *reaches him, and lightly touches his shoulder, just enough so that he knows she's there, hopefully enough to make him hesitate*

Altodd: *He is startled when Mia touches him, and his personality switches again. Altodd lets out a cry of fear when he realizes where he is and he quickly gets himself away from the window before he accidentally falls out. He places a hand tightly over his mouth to prevent himself from making any more noise. His eyes are wide with shock. Altodd looks over at Mia, realizing she's the one that stopped him from jumping*

Mia: !! *had grabbed his arm to keep him from falling out, helping pull him back inside. she lets go of him once he's on solid ground, watching him carefully, not sure how prone to switching personalities he is, or how often it'll happen, or just how desperate his other self is* ...

Altodd: *Still in shock, he shakily removes the hand from his mouth. He speaks quietly and nervously* O-oh my god... Oh my god... oh my god I c-can't believe I almost...!

Mia: ... *places her hand back on his shoulder, speaking just as quietly* I'm glad I was here, then...

Everyone: <:(

Altodd: *Continues to sob,unable to stop for a while. He wants to just leave then and there, but he's terrified of being alone as he is now*

Todd: *glances at Key* D:>

Key: *glances at Todd, then back at Altodd. she stands up from the table, and goes around to Altodd, lightly touching his shoulder. her voice is quiet* Come on, let's get you back to your room. <:(

Everyone: <:( ...

Todd: *Gives Key a small thumbs up* <:(

Everyone: D:>

Lucifer: ...

Altodd: *He manages a small nod and shakily gets to his feet. He can't stop crying. Altodd holds onto Key and walks back to his room with her*

Key: *gently shuts the door behind them, and leads him to his bed, sitting down next to him, a clawed hand still on his shoulder*

Mia: ... *sets her fork down, her appetite gone* ...

Everyone: ...

Altodd: *Sniffling, trying to stop the sobs from coming back, he speaks in a near-whisper to Key* ... I-I'm sorry... I ruined breakfast for everyone...

Harry: *plays with his food, not interested* ... Wars are pointless. They send a lot of innocent people off to die for the want of one person, or to defend their home from it. It brings about a lot of needless death, which I'm sure everyone here experienced today. Saying you didn't is either a lie or proof that you're cold-hearted and deserve nothing more than pain.

Everyone: D:

Key: You don't have to apologize for that. <:(

Well, I really am, and I know I've apologized before, but being alone in a room with you -- I-It's different. It doesn't feel right. Not right at all.

Key: *quietly* I know you won't hurt me, not again. You've proved that already.

Altodd: ... I've done so many unforgivable things... So many... It doesn't matter if I won't do any more or not -- they're still on my conscience.

Key: *nods slightly* I understand. I'm not going to tell you not to feel that way.

Altodd: ... I don't expect you to. Besides, you're one of my victims. I... Think I'll be okay for now. I just needed to cry a little and get that off my chest... I'll, uh, see you whenever... <:(

Key: *pats his back, then lets go of him* Okay. Just make SURE you let us know if you need anything, okay?

Todd: Of course, you'd still have those claws. Mine never went away. *He wiggles his fingers at her. His black claws shimmer in the moonlight*

Key: *wiggles her fingers back, her own dull claws outlined against the moonlit room* THESE, I can live with. It's being constantly chilly and colorblind that's not as okay. Plus,, not looking like a zombie wouldn't hurt. <:P

Todd: ... It would be nice, wouldn't it? I'll finally be able to see those brown eyes again. That's something I'd look forward to if this potion thing was possible. <:P

Key: *smiles warmly* I think I miss your blue more.

Todd: *He kisses her* At least you have me.

Key: *kisses him back* At least I do. *kisses him again*

Todd: *He kisses her that second time in a row* ... So... I'm getting kind of tired... And I'm kind of afraid of using my powers again... But I can help you sleep if you want. <:/

Key: *nuzzles into his neck* I'd appreciate that. I trust you.

The Next Morning

*Everyone meets in a small dining room for breakfast. Oddly, the room was built before the war to serve guests from other cities who don't feast on human flesh or blood*

Altodd: *Is far too quiet to be okay and he stares at his food with very little interest, not touching it once*

Harry: *Eats a bit at a time, not all too hungry* ...

Todd: ... Uh... So... <:/

Sam: This is nice. How'd you sleep, Todd? <:/

Todd: Great. The bed's are comfy. >___>;

Lucifer: ...

Iratus: *Eats his food quietly*

Blood Puppet: *Was given a Life Army soldier's flesh as a breakfast, and he eats it graciously, though stops and looks over at Altodd* ... Altodd. You need to eat.

Altodd: *Doesn't seem to hear him* ...

Claire: *doesn't eat--she had fed the night before* :/ ...

Sarah: *is sitting next to Altodd. she nudges him slightly* Come on, starving yourself won't do you any good. <:I

Key: *pokes at her food, casting worried glances at Altodd* <:/

Mia: *watches Altodd worriedly as she eats*

Zorua: *eats quietly*

Todd: ... Hey. Altodd?

Altodd: *He finally looks up, and over at Todd. Without thinking, he lightly touches the side of his head, where the indentation from the bullet wound is, feeling it* ... *He speaks and his voice is quiet. Broken* ... I won't.

Todd: Promise?

Altodd: ... *He looks back down* I can't. I might not want to... But... HE probably will.

Sam: D:> !

Blood Puppet: :/

Lucifer: ...

Sarah: D:> ...

Key: ...then just make sure you stay by someone as much as you can, okay? We don't want something happening to either of you... <:(

Mia: *this was enough to confirm the multiple personality theory she had... but what had caused the separation...?* <:(

Altodd: *He feels his throat tighten, and all he can do it nod before the tears start to roll. He bites his bottom lip and squeezes his eyes shut, but the tears keep coming. Altodd covers his face, letting out a sob before shaking his head slowly* Th-these tears aren't mind... Th-they're not mine...

Everyone: D:>

Todd: ... Just cry if you need to, man. <:(

Harry: D:>

Sam: <:/ ...

Iratus: *Is saddened by Altodd's sobbing*

Everyone: <:(

Mia: *wishes she could just go over there and hug him, but she isn't sure that'll help at all...*

Todd: *He kisses her again on the lips, then on the cheek. He forgets about his own powers when he whispers into Key's ear* The shower sex was fun... We should totally do it again.

Key: *nods blankly* again... *nudges him back, pushing him against the glass, kissing his neck and touching him, trying to arouse him*

Key: ...Okay. *takes the towel and dries herself off, then wraps it around herself, the air feeling a bit cooler to her after stepping out of the hot shower*

Todd: *He retrieves his underpants and puts them on, but nothing else. He has no nightwear, but he'd rather not sleep in his grubby and battle-worn clothes. Todd crawls into bed, more quiet than before, and, when he looks out their window, he is deep in thought* ...

Key: *does the same, carefully pulling her underwear back on then quickly ducking under the warmth of the bed covers. she scoots closer to to him, stretching an arm across his chest and resting her head on his shoulder, enjoying the warmth of his body. she can tell he isn't really paying attention, though... she asks quietly* What's bothering you? <:(

Todd: *He looks over at Key and sighs, butting his hand over hers and nuzzling her a little* ... So we beat the Life Army... but to me, it didn't feel like much of a win. We lost Shidako, Altodd's a mess, Air City will probably become a bigger threat now that Occulta's... gone, and... And yeah, my powers are starting to scare me a little. I don't know how Lucifer can handle living with them. In fact, a LOT of me scares me. I mean, they're quieter now, but the voices in my head are still there. They're just HISSING now instead of SCREAMING... So... So I guess everything's bothering me, then.

Key: *nuzzles him back, her voice still quiet* ...Is there anything I can do to help...?

Todd: ... You're already doing it, Key. <:) *He kisses her, then scoots over so he's closer to her*

Key: *smiles a bit as she kisses him back, pulling herself closer so that she's half on top of him, her head tucked under his neck, her arm around his shoulder* You're really warm, you know that...?

Mia: *closes her eyes, placing her hand over his and holding it to her cheek*

Blood Puppet: *Leans in and lightly kisses Mia, then nuzzles her*

Key: Thaaank you. c: *leans up to kiss his cheek, then steps into the shower, turning it on*

Key: *braces one hand against the glass behind her, and wraps the other around Todd's middle, slowly rubbing up and down his back, careful not to scrape him with her claws*

Todd: *He then moves in to briefly kiss her on the lips before entering her. The water - which has warmed up now - dances off their bodies*

Key: *moans loudly, pleased, her hand moving down to his waist, rubbing her hips against his to encourage him*

Todd: *Moves in and out of Key as the shower's water becomes rather hot -- not that Todd minds this. The steam covers them, and between this and their sex, the water on Todd's body mixes with a thin layer of sweat. Todd continues kissing Key, continues touching her, and every once in a while, he gasps out her name*
