Ah, I see.Oh, I know! Have you tried steam? When I get a cold and my nasal passages and sinuses give me grief, I steam them, either with a long, very hot shower, or by boiling water on the stove, covering the pot and my head with a towel sort of like a tent, and inhaling. It looks weird, but it helps big time!
lol, I figured I'd just run over you with verbiage to get you working XD
No, seriously, what are you plans, if I can ask?

Well, first thing on Monday I'm going to my friends house to help her pack- she's staying at my place for a week or so. Then I'm alternating between hanging out with friends and babysitting (hopefully), so I can be making cash while I'm away from home. My friend who is staying with me is also going to take me to her dad's ranch and she's gonna teach me how to ride a horse! Lol I'm scared, but excited.
Then is my graduation reception... and my 18th birthday! then I'm back home In early July, getting a job and raking in serious cash for August. I'm visiting two friends in August. One, by myself and about 7 hours from where I live. The other is in Rhode island, and that's a two day trip with no stops. My horse friend is coming with me, to help with the costs and to get away from home. Her mother is really a horrible, horrible lady. The first friend, Im going to see the new harry potter movie, as well as cheer him up as best I can. He's in a very hard spot in life right now and need some company. The second friend is leaving the country permanently in September, so it'll be my last chance ever to see him unless he happens to strike it rich and is able to buy expensive plane tickets to see me! Lol.

Sounds like a good time all around (for the most part). I'm not doing much aside from the ST convention. Except for getting in shape so I can be a more convincing referee, and (hopefully soon to be) security guard. Getting in shape again will be a fun challenge. I hate the 'eat right' part of it, but I miss weight lifting and other excercise. So hopefully it'll work out well.
That, and I'm going to learn how to dance. No more feeling like self-conscious @$$ at weddings from now on! lmao.
So, my goals are really lame and self-centered while you're helping people XD

Lol I need to get back on my diet. I'd started a slimfast diet back in march, but about the beginning of may I fell off the wagon a bit. XD I need to star walking, but it's just so hot outside. I hate being hot AND sweaty. One or the other is manageable. But both? Bleh.
Hey, life is all about being self centered! Lol. I honestly can't wait to see Jenny. Lol she's also teaching me to play the guitar. I can't wait to ride a horse, either! XD just in general, I can't wait for this summer.

It takes a really, really good workout for me to be good with hot and sweaty. If I step outside and I'm both, forget it. Yuck. But if it's after some good exercise, I'm okay with that.
True, and there are more damaging ways to be self-centered. I'm also hoping to hit the mountains and learn to climb a bit ^^ I was never good with horses. lol, there are stories behind that, though. More power to you for learning to ride!
Quick question- what sort of flute is it that Picard plays? I cannot for the life of me remember!

Apparently, he got it when he lived a lifetime in the past (for 25 mins) due to some anomaly. He plays it again later when that musician scientist comes on the Enterprise. She plays the piano (or something similar), and she and Picard have a thing. But, yeah.
Oh, good :)
Not much. Same old stuff. Brainstorming some story ideas as I relax. How about you?

Capturing antimatter hopefully means warpdrive eventually. That would be stellar.
lol, I'm almost done with a future chapter of our DS9 fic. Problem is, it won't work. I made it too long, and Amy is nowhere to be seen. So I'm just going to finish it and insert it in later on if we need filler material. If not, then I'll just post for the heck of it. lol, I got carried away a bit.

I need to learn, though, so I'm not hiding in a corner at a wedding, watching a totally beautiful girl I might have a shot at hook up with some schmoe and tangle. lol.
I can understand that. Doesn't sound fun. I don't get have many allergies, but my sinuses act up pretty good when it rains. Gives me a wicked headache.
The whole bit you've shared so far ^^

Actually, I'm not going out of town. I'm headed to Canada. Blah. I like Canada, but I don't like weddings very much. God help me if some girl askes me to dance. There's the double whammy. I can't talk to her AND I can't dance (except the moonwalk, lol).
Yay! I can't wait for more! I say that alot, but I mean it every time!
Okay, I got Andr28a into Shakugan no Shana. I'm going to start pestering you next!

Lol oh. Maybe not the same wedding, then. xD Good luck, man. I can't dance either. xDD
I know, and I can't wait for you to!
Save your time! I'm into it, I just haven't had time lately. I'll probably get into watching anime again this summer, when I'm not hanging out with friends or working. xD Or writing.

That's too bad. Meeting even a friend of a friend might have made the stupid thing more tolerable.
Part of me is enjoying Keough being humbled a bit, I admit.
I'm really hating Viz Media and Geneon Entertainment. Viz canceled the Shana light novel translation, Geneon is slow on releasing DVD's for Shana (AND the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni kai arc ><'). Blah.
Good. If you're into it, my work here is done (Despite not having done anything) lol.

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint. I did have a friend in Canada, but we lost touch and I can't track him down! I also can't recall whereabouts he was in Canada. You'd have liked either of them, though. They're both nice guys, conversation-worthy.
xD My first thought was "what a horrible person you are!" But I totally understand the sentiment. He's an arrogant, pompous, self-righteous, (adj), (adj) old man. Even though his 'humbled-ness' comes at the price of heavy casualties. (Tsk tsk's you)
xD You're silly.

That's all right. I just want the next two and a half days to be over and done with as quickly as possible. I'm hoping the family in charge of the wedding isn't planning on having us do a whole bunch of stuff with them. I actually would like a vacation out of this, if I'm honest.
I feel bad for thinking it, but I can't help it. The guy just rubs me the wrong way. He's really irritating. And yet, he's a good character. Like Vogner (sp) or Detective Tritter on House. you hate them, but since that's the point, it's good!
Why thank you. I pride myself on it :)

I sent it to your email because FAC was being stupid. But I'll put it here too.
She turned on them, slowly, mechanically, her clammy, mottled hand connecting with Holmes’ chest. The blow sent him flying across the infirmary, slamming into a very hard biobed. He slumped to the ground, unconscious. She fought and struggled and screamed inside her rapidly shrinking mental prison as she turned to face Julian. Their eyes locked, and for a moment, neither moved. A single tear leaked from the corner of one eye, and Julian’s eyes widened in surprise, then hardened in determination as he saw the fading anguish in her expression, as the Borg nanoprobes worked their way through her bloodstream and slowly eradicated any trace of individuality. They both knew that soon she wouldn’t be Amy anymore. She’d be a drone, a prisoner of her own mind, forced to carry out unspeakable atrocities. She could already hear echoes of the Collective in her mind, bearing down on her.
The two medical officers moved at the same time- Julian swiped up a hypospray as he dodged a swing from her deadly, enhanced limbs.
“I’m going to save you, Amy,” he stated, eyes blazing with determination as he dodged another deadly hit and aimed the hypospray straight for her jugular.
Her Borg reflexes were no match for his genetically enhanced ones. A pale hand snapped up and slapped the hypospray away, grabbing his arm and holding him immobile. Her sire Borg came from behind her field of vision and extended his arm- another tear leaked out as two tubes shot from his forearm into Julian’s neck. She watched as his tanned complexion turned sallow, and his veins became dark with the color of the nanoprobes now coursing through his veins. She let him go; they’d be back to collect him later, to complete the assimilation process. She and her Borg sire stepped over Dan’s limp form, out of the infirmary and into the station, ready to assimilate the station.
Amy Collins was no more.
A cold-sweat drenched Amy sat bolt upright in her dark quarters, a bloodcurdling shriek clawing its way out of her throat. Before she realized what she was doing, she’d jumped out of her bed, strode over to the glass table in the middle of the room, and put her fist through it. It hurt like hell, but she was just blessing her lucky stars that she could feel the pain, that she could move of her own accord. She passed her other trembling hand over her face and walked slowly to the sink.
“Computer, half-lights.” The room slowly brightened enough so she could see the damage she’d done. Her fist was full of shards of glass, and there was blood all over the floor.
It wasn’t supposed to go like that. Julian was supposed to inject her with the antidote to the nanoprobes, and she’d regain mobility moments later. They’d both check on Dan, who had a few cracked ribs and a minor concussion, but nothing broken. Then Julian would force her to lie down on a bio-bed and put her into a dreamless sleep to recover while he patched Dan up, then reported to Sisko and Odo.
“Collins to Holmes,” she said unsteadily after tapping her Commbadge- it took a few tries for her shaking hand to hit the right place. After a few moments, the groggy response came through.
”Holmes here. Is everything alright, Amy?”
“Could you… could you come to my quarters, please?” Her voice broke on the last word, and she tried to hold back the tears.
”On my way,” came his concerned, more alert reply.
She held her hand over the sink, watching, dazed, as droplet after droplet of blood slowly fell from her hand to collect in the center.

It's a mix of Shakugan no Shana and The Melancholoy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I really like it. Maybe I'll pick it up again.
Good luck to you! I'm picking up work again in the fall. I don't want to referee full time this winter. It came too close to killing me mentally. --'

Haha, it happens to the best of us!
Well, once I get back into the swing of anime things, I'd love to take a gander at it! You should post it on FAC.
Thank you! I wish there were jobs at the public library. I may have to go into Barnes & Noble myself and see if they're hiring. I couldn't find anything on their site.

Nah, I'm just not a fan. For me, there are plenty of other good ways to get killed or (more likely) make a fool of yourself. I don't know. I just don't have an aptitude for it. I never break a sweat (save for exercising or attempting to talk to a girl), and I swear I had the worst cold sweat case going. I just can't relax behind the wheel.
Yeah, sorry. I don't know what I'm doing awake right now. I'm more than half asleep and will probably conk back out the second I finish this comment.

I'm glad. I'm not out to offend you. See next comment.
Don't take me seriously; I'm just in a goofy mood tonight. I'm dreading this wedding I have to go to this weekend, and I've been all depressed about it. I think I'm punch drunk from depression over it or something, lmao.
I decided to share just a little shred of what I've worked on for our co-op. What do you think:
All was normal in Ops that morning. Sisko ordered a Raktajino, just like usual. Kira handily directed ships, just like usual. Dax played around with scientific formulas, just like usual. Nothing out of the ordinary at all.
Holmes was studying Kira today, learning what exactly a liaison officer did. She was certainly good at her job- Holmes just wasn’t positive he understood the subtleties. He supposed the difference between a first officer and a liaison first officer were cultural differences or semantics. Shrugging, he studied the docking ring layout, noting that all but one spot was full.
“Sensors are picking up a damaged vessel that just exited the wormhole,” Dax called out.
Holmes checked his console. He looked up sharply, meeting Kira’s eye. “Confirmed.”
“Life signs?” Kira asked. “And put it on screen, Mr. Holmes.”
The image of a small ship flashed up on the screen. It was basically a boxy sort of oval shape, decorated with a single warp nacelle placed on top of the hull. The ship was a light brown in color and wa,s at Holmes’ estimation, a single person vessel.
“Reading one life sign…” Dax noted, her hands playing over the console. She looked perplexed, but spoke her mind right away.
“It’s a Trill. The Trill is fine, but the host is dying…”
Holmes stood up and stepped toward the turbolift, moving at a jog. He was the only one not doing anything essential to ships functions right now, so he followed his instincts and reacted.
“Holmes to Infirmary, medical emergency, docking bay 2. Prepare for both Trill and Host.”
”Collins here. Understood, Holmes. Bashir and I are en route.
Dax looked down from her station at Kira.
“I should go, Kira. There may be something with Trill physiology that I can help with.”
Kira nodded her consent as a Bajoran took Dax’s spot.
Holmes held the turbolift for Dax, who stepped on next to him.
“Docking bay,” Holmes told the computer. And down they rode.

Love, love, LOVE this! I just knew you were going to find a way SOMEHOW to get those spots. xD
This is kind of ironic, because I was just about to share something with you.
As each step carried Amy closer to Commander Sisko’s office, her smile faded further and further into a tight-lipped frown of apprehension. Nervousness clawed at her belly, and the burden of the bad news she had to deliver weighed heavily on her heart. Being in the medical profession meant you had to put aside your feelings and deal with horrible, devastating situations. That definitely didn’t mean that those feelings wouldn’t catch up with you later.
Her brisk pace bought her a few curious glances from the officers on-duty, and she noted briefly how smoothly they worked together. A brusque, Bajoran woman with short red hair was pacing the floor frantically, barking orders and occasionally conferring with a much taller brunette, whose face and neck were adorned with Trill spots. Amy jogged up the steps to Sisko’s office, swallowed her momentary panic, and opened the door.
A tall, well-built man with dark, chocolate colored skin looked up, his eyes revealing the anxiety his face did not show; she could only assume he was Benjamin Sisko, as the only person in the room other than her was Captain Keogh.
“Pardon me, sirs. I’ve just come from the promenade. The situation has been contained.” Amy looked to Keogh with sorrow in her eyes. “I’m sorry to report, sir… Over 100 casualties. 46 deaths, and the rest were critically injured. We managed to stabilize the rest of them, but I’m afraid they won’t be fit for transport for a few more days.”
Keogh’s self-important mask fell away as the enormity of his loss hit him. Amy eased him into a nearby chair, noting with mild concern that he seemed to have gone into shock.
Sisko stood up, straightened his jacket and walked around the desk to stand in front of the ensign. He exhaled loudly, then put on a weary smile and extended his hand.
“Welcome to DS9, Ensign. Although I wish it were under different circumstances.”
She took his hand, grateful for the gesture.
“Thank you, sir. So do I.”

and it has the effect of giving them a reason to talk ^^
If I may quote a genius:
love it, love it, LOVE IT!
You are so much better with description than I am. I might have a point, but I go from A to B with little variation. You really expand on things very well. It's much more satisfying to read what you wrote that way :)

Hey, you've gotta know the classics! XD
True enough, I guess. Those are the only things I ever think of (minus the transporter), lol. Although when we finally get a fist fight in there, I might really shine! XD I swear, Holmes will not use that ludicrous double fist. He's going to punch like a man, darn it! XD

The book I'm reading right now is so good. It's called 'Star Trek: Destiny - Gods of Night.' It takes place several years after Nemesis. The Borg are back. Only this time, they don't want to assimilate the Federation. They want to annihilate it. The Enterprise, the Titan, and a ship from the past named the Columbia are all key in figuring out how to save trillions of lives.
Thanks. :)
Thanks. :)

Chi-town has it's good points, for sure. I've never lived there, but I can appreciate the place itself to some degree from visiting.
It wouldn't have hurt if I'd actually remembered to tell you, though. I really should have mentioned it.
I do, too. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm going to be all self-conscious.

It's wonderful. The beach is awesome in the summer. Don't even try to go in early spring. The water is absolutely freezing.
Naw, it's okay!
xD Sorry. Commented!
Jeez, I can't wait to get started on the Borg chapter! xD
I'm sure you can figure out a way to make Amy more endeared to Holmes in this chapter, and the Borg one. Bonding through trauma, and all? xD I dunno.

I'm more of a mountain person than a beach person. I was just talking about going climbing at some point. Which is odd, because I hate heights. Lol, watch me Kirk my way off the mountain without a Spock to catch me!
Glad you liked it. Yuji is so stupid. Seriously, walking into the center of an occult city? I'm not a fan of this arc, even though I wrote it. It's necessary, but I just...blegh. It could have been better.
If I'm getting her character correclty, she'd probably figure out he's a decent officer before figuring out he's a decent human being, right?

I love the views from the mountains. But heights... heights are just... argh. xD Lmao at that reference.
I like it! Don't beat yourself up.
Yep! I'm thinking about giving her a specific kind of agoraphobia. xD Specifically, outer space agoraphobia. Those scenes where they're doing maintenance on the hull of the ship always makes me hyperventilate. xD

I have this bad habit about correcting my flaws. If it's something I can fix, it bothers me until I do. That includes heights, I guess. I hope there's no lemming blood in me.
I'm glad you do. Maybe I don't like it because the point of it won't be clear until much later. It's just kind of floaitng there right now.
Oh, that's a good idea! Perfect for someone living on a Space Station XD I love the concept!

Ha, well, that's admirable. Me, I'd throw up before I managed to 'fix' anything. xD
Well, give it time! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I'm glad you appreciate the irony! xD Being stranded out in the middle of space with nothing but a spacesuit is her greatest fear. Well, mine, but who's keeping track? xDD

Oh, I'm pretty sure I would, too. I'm a huge 'nature' person in that I love to explore, though. Must be some kind of 'exploration'.
I'll try. It's just boring knowing how it'll work out XD
It's a good story point, I think. Plenty of development material imho.
Oh, for the Borg thing- how about having Amy throw Holmes at one point. Like in a fit of Borg-induced rage as he's trying to help Bashir sedate her. That gives them a reason to talk later, since she might actually apologize for putting him through Bashir's diagnostic table! lol.

Perfect! You're brilliant. I'm wondering how close I should cut the rescue. Like, should he have JUST injected her, or should they catch him in the middle of trying to fit her with standard Borg 'apparel'? I think that would be more interesting, because it gives Amy time to realize how awful being a Borg is. You see what you're doing, but you can't control your body. You lose your sense of individuality. Horribly traumatic. xD Poor Holmes. We're making a habit of abusing your male OC's.

True, but I'm going to be kinder to him in this series. I really want to find a way to make him and Dax work, at least for a while. Maybe it's a fanboy thing, but I don't care. For once, the kid is going to be happy, damn it! XD
Yuji, of course, will suffer in my other fics to make up for it. :D

I think it'd be an interesting effect, to have her as "almost" being a Borg. Like, a sort of connection, maybe? Kind of like how Picard could still hear the Borg even after he was disconnected from them? Or would that not be plausible? Picard was a unique case, after all.
I'm getting excited to write this! xD

I think we can do that. Have Bashir come up with a hasty cure that suppresses rather than kills the nanoprobes, leaving them dormant in Amy's system and requiring weekly shots (at first) of the 'cure'. This would mean that she needs the supply of medicine, or...the plot thickens!
I'm getting excited to read it :)

Do you want to do this one early on or later? (obviously after we wrap up the episode we're on.) I think it could give a good segue into Amy and Holmes becoming better friends. Of course, because he saves her. But also, she could have recurring nightmares and he invites her to join him in his Vulcan medication. What do you think?
