True enough. I can usually pick out a pattern (like 'oh, it's blue-green' in TNG and 'aqua' in Voyager/DS9), but I haven't noticed anything like that. I wanted to make sure that I referred to it correctly in our co-op, if there was a correct way to refer to the color.
It's okay. It's just making me want to read it more ^^ I've been writing up short ideas and elaborating on them.

xD Of course we would! We're your number one fans! xDD
Well, don't feel constrained to a limit. I'm just slower on this for some reason. I mean, there's a different 'feel' to this -verse than Naruto. You can't sum it up in 15 minutes (or 2000 words). I mean, real DS9 episodes are about 45 minutes long. Just saying.

I'm glad :D
Yes, it'll definitely get more simple from here.
No problem at all ^^ I had an advantage by writing that Voyager fic, plus being familiar with DS9 atm. I'd rather you took your time and liked your end product than rushed on my account and wound up disliking your own work. That's too close to something I would do XD

I like that explanation. The other is that I have too much time on my hands and live in a fantasy universe more often than not XD So let's go with 'I just watched DS9 and you just got back to it' :D
Well...to be honest, not well. I've been sort of depressed for a number of reasons. But I'll get over it in short order ^^ How was your day?

Is it anything you want to talk about? If not, that's fine, too.
Cold and wet. We had below 50 degree weather, with rain. And windy! Bleh.
Also, is the Odyssey particularly lavish in its furnishings? I'm trying to scope Amy's reaction to the tour of the ship, but I'm not sure what it looks like on the inside.

I'd be perfectly willing to talk about it, but I'm not sure what 'it' is. I'm thinking it's just a conglameration of school, work, and other stress just finally catching up with me. I'm not sure what exactly the problem is :\ That makes it frustrating as all hell, which no doubt makes the whole thing worse.
lol, look at me, i'm a paradox like Scrodinger's cat!
Seriously, I appreciate the offer. If I figure out what's going on, I'll definitely open up :)
Same here. It was that miserable fine, clingy rain, too!
Let's see...the bridge was similar to Enterpise B's, but more condensed, with the back wall being closer. That's all you really ever saw of the ship. But being Galaxy class, I would say it's comparable to Enterprise D in every other way. Sorry I can't be more help there :(

I looked it up: 42 decks on Enterprise D. I thought there was more than that. Some other facts:
Maximum warp: 9.9 (at extreme risk)
Length:641 meters
Width: 463 meters
Height: 195 meters
And if you REALLY want to have Amy get the luxury treatment, you could have the 'shuttle' be Keogh's 'Captain's Yacht'. I had forgotten that the Galaxy class had that, but after I saw it on wikipedia I remembered that episode where Picard and Wesley are in the Captain's Yacht together on the way to Picard's heart replacement.
That's alright. I appreciate the offer :)

Ah. Well, I'm about to have the Odyssey run into trouble when they're trying to transport Amy over to DS9, but I'm wondering if I should put in some very minor crew interactions, where Amy sees how they think of her as "the Admiral's spoiled daughter." .... I suppose I can let you see what I have. xD If we keep doing this, you're going to get to read the entire pilot in little segments.
Here ya go:
And who knows? Maybe someday you’ll get to serve on a real starship. Have you ever thought about serving on the Odyssey? Picard, he’s a great man, but he’s gotten soft with old age. Between you and me, I’m not sure he has what it takes to command a starship out there on the frontier. Out there you have to make snap decisions, hard choices. You can’t let your emotions get in the way; you have to be willing to sacrifice a few lives for the greater good. Picard does not fit that bill.”
“I’ll… keep it in mind, sir,” Amy replied, working very hard to keep the irritation out of her voice. She was beginning to take an inherent dislike to this man. Luckily, before the Captain had a chance to continue, they caught sight of the Odyssey. Amy’s mouth dropped open- the ship filled the shuttle’s entire view-screen! She’d heard stories, but it was hard to imagine the sheer size of it until it was staring her in the face. Keogh tapped his Commbadge and issued the first of many orders on this venture.
“Keogh to Odyssey. Open the doors to Shuttle-bay 2.”
“Doors to Shuttle-bay 2…. Open, sir!” came the reply, and the occupants of the shuttle watched as the shuttle-bay doors slid open. Once the doors locked into place, Amy maneuvered the shuttle in and gently touched her down. As soon as the shuttle-bay doors were closed, she ran the standard-procedure system checks before opening the shuttle door and shutting down. The Captain got off first, then turned around and stood to attention. Amy grabbed her duffel bag before snapping to attention, herself.
“Permission to come aboard, sir?”
“Granted, Ensign. Welcome aboard the Odyssey.”
--
After a very thorough tour of the Odyssey, Amy was finally allowed to relieve herself to her quarters for the night. Keogh had told her that they’d be reaching DS9 in about 16 hours; great thing, warp drive. After a few hours of rest, she was to report to sickbay where she would act out the rest of her stay aboard the galaxy-class ship.

I wonder if there really IS blood grass somewhere? XD
Bashir: (Grabs her and starts making out with her)
Holmes: No, no...you're the only one I'd tell this to. See, I was on the USS Guardian a year and a half ago. It was a reconstructed science vessel. And we were attacked suddenly. I was Chief Tactical Officer, so I fired back. Our ship was underpowered in both engines and weapons. We had a hull breach which allowed dangerous, infectious diseases to be released into the ship. I destroyed the alien ship, but not before 148 of our 150 crew members perished from the diseases that were released. I only surived because the captain ordered the bridge sealed off from main life support. I gave him the idea. And they commended me for it. For signing the death warrants of 148 innocent people, not to mention the crew of the other ship. I had no choice if ANYONE was to survive, but...(trails off)
Nerds, unite! Be proud!
I'm going to get off for the night. I'm just about to facekeyboard. That's like face-palming, except you physically pass out and smack your face XD Talk to you later!

xD There IS! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperata_cylindrica
Amy: (between kisses) Mm.. you know, patience is a virtue... One that you obviously do not possess.
Dax: Oh, Daniel. There was nothing else you could have done! You can't blame yourself for their deaths... it could just as easily have been someone else on the bridge, and you infected. You did the best you could under the circumstances. If you can't forgive yourself, Daniel, how can you expect others to?
xD Turnabout's fair play! lol sleep well, friend. I've been working a little on my pilot, and I'm hoping to have it finished in the next couple of days. So sorry it's taking me so long! I'm not sure how you managed to pull a 5500+ word chapter out of thin air in like, two days. xD That was very impressive. Anyway, I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Bashir: The only thing stopping us is this fabric...and since you don't like to share, I could whip up one of those handy cabanas Dan cooked up.
Holmes: A price I certainly don't mind paying.
Sounds comfortable ^^ All the blood grass in my front yard is dead -_-'
A friend of my Mom's was involved in some part of ST: Generations filming (the actual physical film), and I think that's how I wound up with the shirt.
I really wish someone would make more of Trek technology a reality!

Amy: (leans in and nips at his ear) Quite more than 'a little,' my dear.
Dax: I would hope not! So, Daniel, what led you to DS9?
xD I would cry 'nerrrrrd' but I have absolutely no room to talk. Transporter technology would be quite handy.

Bashir: (chuckles) Why settle for a picture? I could be...persuaded...to repeat that little act...for a price. (Comically massages his ears like a Ferengi)
Holmes: So do you. Oh, I meant to ask- is there anything special I need to know about being in a relationship with a Trill?
Same here. His character development is the best example I've evers een.
Well, I've got to go for the night. I just realized I have to be awake in less than 7 hours. Good luck with that character pic and the pilot!

Yes, I love it.

Bashir: I'm certainly fine with that. Maybe I could convince you to join me.
Holmes: Well, that's good, then. And as for me, I'm pretty straightforward, too, as evidenced by last night.
Odo had a less obvious character development, but it was done tastefully, too.
Thanks. So far, 2 out of 3 games have sucked. I skate the third in about 2 hours. Blah. Double-blah, because it'll make me later getting on FAC. I should be on about an hour or so later than usual. But I WILL be around!
lmao. The work is probably easier, too.

Name: Daniel Holmes
Rank: Ensign
Hair/Eyes: D. Brown/Hazel
Height: 5'9"
Current Assignment: Deep Space 9
Holmes is on the command track, having graduated from the academy two years ago. A certain incident led to his promotion to Ensign after being out of the academy for six months.
Ensign Holmes is ambitious, but won't trample anyone on his way to the top. He is courteous; girl shy; and has a tendency to avoid the spotlight if he believes it wasn't warranted.

Children: None
Physical Appearance
Height: 1:70 cm

Bashir: Most certainly. We can even play 'tag'.
Holmes: It's the 'try' part that is so horrifying. If things hadn't worked out, you and I are in Ops together every day. It would have been quite a bit awkward.

Amy: Or, something more up your alley... We could always play 'doctor.'
Dax: Things are only awkward if you let them be. But luckily, we don't have to think about the 'what if.' The important thing is that it did work out.
Ah, crap. You just reminded me that I have a project due last Friday in chemistry that I forgot to do over the weekend. It's a good thing I get to school early. -_-
My day was pretty good. My mom took me to look at some houses in town that we're considering. Anything to get out of this little apartment.
Oh, did you hear the news? Osama Bin Laden is dead!

Oh, sorry about that.
Well, that's good news. Did you like any of theM?
I did! That was a surprise. I can't help but be a bit sceptical for now, since we've heard this before. But if it's the real thing this time; YAY!

xD Odo is very nasally. I'm also great with imitations. Especially facial ones. Do you remember the episode where Riker gets like, kidnapped by the alien kid and 'wakes up' in one of the kid's scenarios, supposedly 16 years after the event? His epic face when they cut to the commercial... I can imitate that perfectly. It's a bit of an inside joke with me and my mom. If anything dramatic happens in a show we're watching, I turn to her suddenly and make that face, and she busts up laughing.

He’d never admit it to you, Amelia, but he’s really proud of all you’ve been able to accomplish in your short time at Starfleet. Which is why it’s all the more important to do your best at Deep Space Nine. Prove to him that one little mishap won’t keep you from your goals. He expects great things from you. We all do.

“We still keep in touch,” the captain went on as if Amy hadn’t spoken. “He never stops talking about you. We all do.

Bashir: Am I really? I don't meant to be. There's only one woman I want to be a hazard to...well, that didn't come out right, but you get the point.
Holmes: Mmm...my spots seem to be tingling. Some sort of silent Trill mating call?
After reading that, I think you could probably hold off on explaining her situation in detail until later. That fits the bill so perfectly imho. That's really good stuff. Perfect for the situation.

Amy: (laughs) Should I be worried for my safety?
Dax: Hmm... That sounds about right. (brushes her lips across the spots on his forehead) Does that help?
Yeah, I was thinking that she'd be talking with Jadzia or Dan at Quark's about why she was assigned here, and her anger at her father would come spilling out and she'd launch into the story.

Amy: (Complies, then looks up at him) How about now?
Dax: (laughs) Well, closed doors or no, we do have company, Daniel.
xD I know! I think he voice acted one of the characters in Toy Story. The dinosaur, if I'm right. Sorry AGAIN about dozing off last night. xDDD You and I seem to be developing a pattern.

Also, I'm trying to work in Keogh's speech to Amy about how her father was amazing and great things are expected of her. But I feel like there just isn't enough to it. If that makes sense. Here's what I have for it:
The shuttle touched off, rising slowly from the landing pad. As they made their slow ascent into space, the monologue that Amy had feared began.
“You know, Amelia, your father and I served together on the Odyssey for years, before he got promoted. I’ve never met a more honorable, dedicated man. He accomplished many great things, even before his appointment to Admiral. He rose to every challenge presented to him and always went above and beyond the call of duty. It was an honor to serve with him.”
“Thank you, sir, I’m sure that means a lot to him,” Amy provided, unsure what else to say.
“We still keep in touch,” the captain went on as if Amy hadn’t spoken. “He never stops talking about you. He’d never admit it to you, Amelia, but he’s really proud of all you’ve been able to accomplish in your short time at Starfleet. (insert slanted comparison of the Odyssey to the Enterprise here).”

Bashir: VERY comfortable (voice breaks on 'very' as he feels her touch)
Holmes: (Smiles) You do that.
No rush ^^
Oh, and for your segment from before, in addition to what I already said, maybe you could add a hint of why Amy is sent to DS9. Like when he mentions that it's important she do well, she could think about how she got there, then flash back to the present.

Amy: (closes her eyes, enjoying the sensation) I suppose you're right. She really saved him from a lonely, lonely life.
Dax: She used to be so wary of everyone, always on the defense. Now look at her. It's nice to see her so at ease, even if it's just with a few people.
xD I love how each party is talking about each other.
If somebody said that to me, I'd be a liiiiiitle worried. ;)

Also, that was supposed to read "i don't want everything I want." Not, "i don't want I want." xD Oops.
Amy: (pulls away to look at him) You're not still hung up on her, are you?
Dax: Yes, he does. I don't think he realized how lonely he was. Don't worry about Julian, Daniel. The fact that I didn't choose him had nothing to do with you. I'm just glad you came along when you did. (smiles, then shifts her weight to provide him with more skin to moisturize)
It is.
Nah, it kind of... fits him. xD Which is sad, in its own rite.

It's okay; I got the gist.
Bashir: No. I'm with YOU. But I can't help but wonder...you liked me right away. Why didn't she? (Shakes his head) Now, are you jealous? Do YOU need a massage?
Holmes: (Continues his work, lol) I...don't mean to pry, Jadzia, but...(Shakes head) nevermind.
IT was supposed to seem more caring and less creepy XD

xD Good. I reread that and I was like WTF me = idiot!
Amy: Well, you're very confident about who you are, and where you fit into the world. Maybe she wasn't looking for that. (straightens and turns around, deflecting the question marvelously) Well, since you're offering...
Dax: (sits up a little, looking at Dan) No, go ahead. What is it, Daniel?
xD It's okay. It was funny!

Nah, it's all good. As you know, I make more than my share of errors.
Bashir: Happy to oblige you, miss. (works on her back)
Holmes: I...can't help but feel a little guilty. (smiles a little forlornly) I was the guy back at the academy who, if he had a crush, but saw someone else with the same crush...I was the one who would back off without a fight. It's just...I know what he (Bashir) must be feeling. ...(hugs Dax tightly) It makes me appreciate you all the more.
And only partly stalker-ish! XD
