hmm, personally i look down on the term "mastering". what some may call mastery, others may call basic. and nearly every "master" of any martial art i've seen is just another guy that breaks bricks and does his forms for TV. you can find some good ones that call themselves "master" but why? what is the point of that term? there is no way to get so good at the martial arts that you just can't get any better. there are only good martial artists, not as good martial artists, and better martial artists. so, how can you actually "master" an art form? you can always get infinitely better, and be infinitely worse than some ppl. why should there be a name for all this? Bruce lee didn't like ranks either, over the course of my training, i've finally found out why.

either way, if you actually enjoy doing the basics more than the flashy techniques, than thats gravy, but if you find that the practice seems to become bland and boring i'd reconsider.

if you're really just worried about protecting others, you'd be able to do it much more efficiently just by using the groin kick, throat punch, eye gouge, and maybe knee to the quadricep. these techniques all work the easiest out of any other. i guess elbowing somebody in the face would prolly go along with those techniques too. these techniques don't even require you to practice them because they're so easy to do.

I have a few favorite Naruto pairings. My favorites are Hinata and Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke, Tenten and Neji, and Temari and Shikamaru.

hmm, making your own martial art can be fun, i tried doing that for a while myself. i don't suppose i necessarily stopped i just stopped thinking about it as my own specified style. and yes, basics are definitely more useful in a fight, but then again, groin kicks and eye gouges are more useful than other basics even.
my point is, what exactly is your goal in martial arts? do you simply want to defend yourself? or do you do it simply because the practice is fun? or possibly you just want to kick somebody's @$$ and look good doin' it?

depending on your answer to that question there are different types of martial arts you should practice.

I know how that is. I get some help from Emi-chan, and I've helped my dad out with his novel. It's kind of fun. And I wish I could get help, and give it out more often. Criticism never hurts, I really enjoy it. ^^

You like spiders? Oh, wow. That's the exact opposite of my opinion. They creep me out XD Especially black widows. I try to just stay away from them. But sometimes I try to save them before someone squishes em' or something. ^^'

Dogs seem like they're more exciting. o.o But that's not exactly a good thing for me. I hate having a pet run up to me, it's nice, but then scares me at the same time. I think I may have the fear because once when I was four, the neighbor's dog chased after me. XD I must've excited him when I began running, but hey, I was scared! He was friendly I suppose, he didn't bite or bark, lol.

Oh, thank you! I got it. It really helped. I felt childish over the whole thing. But they say talking to a friend helps relieve stress. And that does work for me most of the time. How're you doing today, hm? ^^
